Overkill 100+ mode added
Changes;
every enemy is replaced with 10 turtle swats
Payday 1 was, in my opinion, a basic core coop game, it ignored all the gloss and other bits and pieces and created a simple but fun coop game. For all intents and purposes Payday 2 is infinitely superior to Payday 1 in all aspects except in heist variety and lack of British Hoxton.
The only heists in Payday 2 that approach the awesomeness of Payday 1 are Big Oil and Framing Frames, and even they are derivatives of every other heist in Payday 2 which involve moving object X to location Y.
I still think that Overkill released Payday 2 too early, from what I can see they wanted the heists to start out small and simple, but gradually increase in scope and intensity. The game practically ends at level 40 and by the time you hit level 60 all the heists ingame currently can be done with minimal effort for the most part. There are hints of grander heists present in Payday 2 though, on Framing Frames Day 3 for example Bain makes a reference to robbing the White House as "their next big score". Given Overkill's history with Payday 1 I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt in releasing more heists and content for free, I am heavily assuming they will be approaching heists similarly to the Wolf Pack where only the hosts needs to own the DLC to run the heist and everyone else can play it irregardless. I would be very surprised if they forced people to buy heists to play them.
One thing that needs to improve though is differing objectives, I get tired after a while of always having to move something to somewhere, more so when those somethings start to make me move at a turtles pace.
I swear if Overkill don't let us rob the White House I will be so cross with them, I don't care what excuse they make to do it.
Sure, Payday 1 was really rough around the edges and Payday 2 is definitely more polished, but I feel like Payday 1 had a lot more character. Every one of the heists was full length, it's not like Payday 2 where once you have certain upgrades, you can finish the earlier levels in 30 seconds. Plus, all of the heists can be played at any level if you're on playing on a higher difficulty, unlike Payday 2 where you just have to stop playing Mallcrashers and Jewlery store once you hit level 20 if you want to keep leveling
I haven't played for several days and now it's crashes galore. What are the latest fixes? I've verified the game's cache and it only takes a minute of gameplay for it to crash to desktop, no error message.

Polished?
Payday 2 still feels like I'm playing a beta.

wellll, it certainly looks a lot nicer at least, visually
Polished?

Because they gave you pretty much everything IN the beta.
wellll, it certainly looks a lot nicer at least, visually
That does beg the question as to why there is not lip syncing or facial animations at all? It seems wierd to see civilians standing there looking all bland or depressed.
Unless people in the Payday universe are physic and lost the ability to talk years ago.
Is this a problem with the Diesel engine or just a failure to animate these things?
Because they gave you pretty much everything IN the beta.
That's not what he meant. The game is held together with tape and Popsicle sticks.

for every enemy on the screen 20 turtle swats follow behind it
for every enemy on the screen 20 turtle swats follow behind it
every enemy you actually see is just more swats in disguise
so has anyone noticed that Payday 2 is like 20GB?
It's not so much a shortcut as an alternate route.
I don't even know why you'd need the sewer shortcut.
The mission is easy as piss to stealth, just have some one tie up all the workers near the van and you are good to go for the entire mission, with only the assault wave at the end to worry about which isn't a big deal (just run to the van).

1/4 of it is unused content.
I hope they remove the bullshit invincible armor of the heavy swats, and replace it with chest armor that simply blocks out a large percentage of the damage.

turtle swat make rifles useless compared to the starter shotgun, you chew through so much ammo to try to kill one guy its ridiculous.
Anyone got a good technician build for rushing Ukrainian Job? Friend wants to respec into technician and rush some Ukranian Jobs.

Ace shaped charge, take sprinter from the ghost tree.
also buff the AI for converted enemies, half the time they just sit in a corner and stare at the wall.

Or if you are lucky they run through 7 enemies and one hit headshots all.
someone should try tweeting to goldfarb about overkill tendency to reuse heists and call them brand new
someone should try tweeting to goldfarb about overkill tendency to reuse heists and call them brand new
How about no? Yes there is a problem with heists? Do you think publicly going after developers especially ones who are going out to players and asking them "What do you think of the last patches and what do you think we should fix next" is going to make them go "Oh fuck we're doing the wrong thing lets drop everything guys and make new heists instead?"? Guess what its not. Its going to make them pull back and stop listening to altogether. The way to go about talking to developers about the reuse of heists isn't trying to crucify developers whenever they show up.
[editline]31st August 2013[/editline]
Seriously, they've listened a lot about current issues in the game. What they can fix they're doing as fast as possible. FFS they revamped crime net, are working on skill trees, and are adding other shit on the game design side. They're doing something about lack of content. I guarantee it.
I think people forget first of all that Overkill is a small studio, and second that not every issue is as simple as changing a few lines of code and pushing out a patch.
Wish they'd at least add a new level to Firestarter day 3
Wish they'd at least add a new level to Firestarter day 3
Or at the very least drastically change the layout.
Bank Heist - Deposit doesn't need to exist.

Wasn't that bank level set at night at first ?
Using the Outlander mask just because it looks like General Grievous.

To be honest, as someone who use to (and still does) bitch a lot about them not having enough heists can calling rehashed/pro-jobs separate heists; I'd rather them make the game as smooth as a freshly powered baby-butt before working on more content. They're doing a great job so far. And I still think Goldfarb would do PR better than Almir any day.

Honestly, I think so much of the hate they have gotten would have been avoided had he not been the one dealing with the community.
