What they're upset about is that the version we're going to see is already pretty much a finished game. Overkill isn't giving us "beta" access until the console versions pass inspection with Microsoft and Sony. That said, getting a refund because "we were promised an unfinished and unpolished turd and we're getting a complete game" is hilarious. What he meant to say was "we were promised to be part of the process and not to simply play a demo", which implies a few things that make more sense as an argument.
I actually got a refund for the first game because they delayed it by nearly a month and I had other games I wanted to buy. Because I got a refund fanboys on the forums (for a game that hadn't even been released yet) called me all sorts of things. I think people need to chill the fuck out. Anyway, I ordered this one knowing full well Overkill's habit of delaying the ever loving shit out of things, so I'm content to just wait it out this time.
It should be known by everyone that gamers, especially those of this generation, overreact to everything like drama queens.

They did imply it by saying we'd get access to a beta. The version of the game going out on discs to console gamers is not a beta, it's a finished product, and that's what we're getting.

The definition varies a lot but generally beta is mostly feature complete but may or may not be polished/buggy.
I don't know I just find it hard to be mad at guys who want a refund. If the only reason they got CCE was for beta, and beta is going to be short/non-existant because we're waiting on console shit, why would they want to pay the higher price? I got CCE for other features so it makes no difference to me, but if the product you want isn't coming the way you wanted it, it's your money right?
My god, with every new video, my heart starts to pound faster and faster. I can't hold it anymore. I feel like I'm gonna have a heart attack.
Considering that the PC version would be the better looking one, and that the net would be flooded with gameplay videos from that version, I see no downside for Overkill to just release the beta right now on Steam instead of waiting for console cert.
The PC player get the try the game, the console players get to see much more detailed gameplay, the hype for Payday 2 goes through the roof, Overkills gets more preorders. Everybody wins!
And if some console players complain about it being unfair, Overkill can just tell them to blame Sony and Microsoft for the time required for console certification.

I believe they mentioned July as the month for the beta, but that still means they could pull a Valve and let it come out on July 31st at 11:59PM.
