I didn't even buy the game yet, nor am I even planning to play in the beta, I'm just making a point. My problem with it though is that there is a closed beta already going on, just that the people who were in the right to believe that at any moment, the rest of them would get invited promptly after. That started weeks ago. Not a single word.

Plenty of games have done closed betas where you only get in through invitation, and then limited/purchased beta's later on. Firefall, Path of Exile, Dota 2. Hell, its may as well be the standard at this point for any game offering a beta.

The thing is, with such a short duration, and a stats reset, this beta is closer to a demo.

To be honest I bought CCE for the soundtrack, don't even care when the beta comes although sooner is better than later

I usually take screenshots of the steam page of items I pre-order (in case I need to get a refund) but I didn't this time.

I wish i could find someone selling the Beta pass, it would be cool. And it's better they put that AA12 there, that's a robber's gun, so cool

It's all good to be hyped about something but that's no reason to not have some patience. However, if it's not out by the end of the week I'm not going to lie, I'll be fairly disappointed saying July will pretty much be over, and there has been a group of people playing what looked like in the live streams a very playable build since the start of July, if not before that. I'm glad that I decided not to buy the CCE for the beta.

So some guy put a Steam link with the wrong app ID on the Payday 2 Beta hub. I corrected it: [IMG]http://filesmelt.com/dl/soclose2.png[/IMG] To open this window put steam://install/218620 in your browser. It does not install it, I tried; however it did bring the window up.

about the stat resets: iirc in payday 1, the stats are saved locally on the computer. if you delete the game data it resets your stats. i'm pretty sure the same would more than likely apply here too. to be honest i don't these guys are the smartest of developers and a lot of their business model doesn't make sense but whatever. so long as they put out a good game then it doesn't matter to be, but i don't think they'd do a stat reset for the beta. it'd provide such a miniscule buff to the players anyway that it wouldn't even matter. what's the difference between a level 1 support and a level 80 support? the level 80 support just has slightly better gear; it doesn't make him that much better of a killing machine. it's all about player skill, not about equipment advantage

as soon beta goes out the following will happend to me 1. massive excitment 2. massive letdown becouse its gonna take a full day to download the whole beta regardless the size becouse im using an turtle with a wire next to it as my modem :V

I don't even mind if I don't have a beta key, I just want to preload the game before release Nothing like a big fat 20gb download on Australian internet when you've been waiting for a game to release for so long

I think I get it, the only way to enter in the beta in completing another ARG, it really started time ago but only the chosen ones can find it. Yeah that makes sense, it has to be that.

I don't know why people think this thread is going to get tons of posts when the beta is released. Most people are going to be too busy furiously masturbating while it downloads to make a post.
