Anyone got a spare beta key? I just bought PAYDAY 2 but then realized that you don't get the key unless you get CCE.
[sp]I'm fucking hyped help[/sp]
welp
so you CAN take mods off of guns
But then you have to buy them again, they don't just stay in your inventory
rip my holo sight 2013-2013
That's dumb, it's like to remove a sight, you HAVE to sell it back
And everything must be FOUND and bought at a high price.
Will the £25 price increase once the game is released?
Anyone got tips on how to stealth through bain bank heist and other maps?
I find it funny that even if I find a new magazine type, I have to pay $48,000 for a trained specialist to install it.
What kind of fucking sci-fi super magazines are these?
Anyone got tips on how to stealth through bain bank heist and other maps?
Bank Heist is hard. You need a team of 2-4, with objective one being taking out the camera guy. When he's gone, start the drill and have everyone else play civilian control.
Jewelery Heist is easy. Run to the back of the store, start there and avoid the guards outside seeing you through a window. Methodically work your way back towards the front. Balance people doing civilian control and moving bags. The second the alarm goes off, you got about 5 seconds until that faggot van splits. I've stealthed it with two people on very hard, it's pretty easy as long as there aren't many civvies in the street.
About 30 in total
This is a bit incorrect. There are well over 30+ "maps"; but I heard there was only about 17-19 actual heists. Some of them are over many days though.
36 maps in total. 30 stages over 17 heists and 6 escape missions
I think it would be good if they added some sort of trading system to allow players to trade the various mask and customization drops they get from the end of the heist.
Does someone have a beta key guys ? i can't stand seeing you play.

Would be pretty cool if they were actual inventory items like in TF2/Dota/Spiral Knights.
Reset soon, fellow clown
Hey everyone,
Due to the fast feedback from the community and the efforts of the OVERKILL development team we will have an update coming really soon.
A few times we will need to do bigger updates where we need to restart your progress. One of those times is now.
Sadly, this coming update we will need to reset the beta profiles. This means that after the game has been updated the next time you start PAYDAY 2 Beta your progress will have been reset.
I will tell you via an announcement when it has been updated, of course.
We need to do this in order to improve the security of the game. There are memory hackers and cheaters out there and we need to use the Beta to continue to prevent people from cheating and destroying the players experience of the community.
Sorry for any inconvenience this might cause - I know you have played long and worked hard. But, as you know, this is a Beta and we do this together to make the game brilliant!
Thanks for your cooperation and keep those helmets flying!

So I lose my masks :c?
fuuuuuuck.....starting from level 1 again will be a drag, I was close to get level 12, armor and the skill that reduces the cost of gun crafting.
Should've seen this coming.
Payday 2 is one of those games where I don't really care if someone cheats their progress. It's a Co-op game and they're only cheating themselves out of the fun. The only thing it'll do is ruin leaderboards but PC leaderboards are always ruined from day 1, period.
I wasn't expecting a stat wipe a day after the beta release
Should've seen this coming.
Are they actually going to implement an Anti-Cheat?
I'd only gotten to level 4 so I'm fine with that.
Also - offshore account, is that only for keeping track of how much cash you've collected in your career, or does it have a use?
Is there some kind of feature where you can betray your teammates? Or at least a map that allows this? Somehow I always think of the first scene of the Dark Knight when reading about this game.

Multiplayer gametype maybe in the future? Think The Ship + Payday. Sounds awesome
Are there any new special enemies?
Anyone wanna play online now?
An anti-cheat system would be fine; but I hope we don't keep getting resets because "oh no, the big bad cheaters are cheating."
idgaf if other people ruin their experience or play on non-secure servers.
Are there any new special enemies?
No, but the balance is way different. Bulldozers cannot be taken out in one magazine anymore. Tazers are rare. I've never seen a cloaker yet. Heavy Swat are practically fucking impervious if you shoot them in the chest; it has to be headshots or back - which is actually pretty frustrating.
Yeah, Bulldozers in 2 are like 1's on overkill when using low level weapons.
OK, so this is going to be a bit of a rant or something I guess and everyone will immediately jump on me and tell me how wrong I am about everything, but fuck you I say what I want. >:(
After a few hours with the beta... I'm not terribly impressed. At all. It's neat in some regards but it's just not very good or even much better than Payday 1. It fixes some of 1's problems but introduces a whole slew of its own. The main problem, I think, is that Payday 2's innovations are primarily additive rather than altering. Basically, the core game is exactly the same thing as Payday 1, only with a whole bunch of new systems sitting on top. The guns feel better in terms of sound and appearance, but they still feel comically impotent against cops. (The starter assault rifle can't even kill with a headshot, wtf) And all the other problems that plagued Payday 1 are still present, including, but not limited to, suicidal civilians, stupidly aggressive and large waves of police, impossible aimbot-sprinting-inhuman police aim, doctor/ammo bags that cannot be moved, etc.
And those are just the problems that carry over from Payday 1. The systems they've introduced on top add tons of issues of their own. First of all, and this is a basic complaint, everything costs way too damn much. Leveling up isn't exciting because all you unlock is the ability to purchase new guns and skills, none of which you will be able to afford until you grind out a few more missions. Which also makes me wonder what the hell the point of the offshore account is... as I understand it, the idea is that it lets you pull of million-dollar heists without suddenly making you stupidly rich. But... isn't that the fucking point? Why am I pulling these heists for pocket change? And maybe I could understand it if guns and modifications were realistically priced, but there's nothing "realistic" about a $100000 shotgun.
Not to mention the game takes EVERY opportunity to sap your already meager reserves of cash. Want more skills? Pay up. Want to respec? Pay up. And then rebuy those skills. Want modifications that you found? Pay up. Want to take off and then reuse those mods? Pay up. Accidentally shoot civilians that still insist of running around in the middle of police assaults? That's deducted directly from your spending money. Lose a mission? Haha, fuck you, you're not just not getting paid, we're going to go ahead a take a hefty amount of your spending money as well. Because fuck you. Fuckkk yooouuuu.
And then there's the Payday system in which you randomly gain the ability to buy a weapon mod, mask, or decorative flourish every mission. Not a terrible idea, but oh wait yes it is. First of all, some of the weapon mods are downright necessary for certain playstyles. If you want to go stealth, just start praying to the Random Number God that the game decides to grant you a silencer. And then, just to kick you in the teeth, once you've found a silencer, you're going to have to grind several more missions to afford your newfound $100000 silencer. Because FUCK. YOU. Honestly this is the least rewarding progression system anyone has ever designed ever and it boggles me that someone thought this was a good idea.
What would make a lot more sense would be always having the ability to buy every weapon mod, but also having a chance to find a free one after every mission. Restricting cosmetics to the RNG seems fine to me, but it'd still be better if you didn't have to fucking buy them afterwards.
And then there's CrimeNet. Neat... idea... I guess? In practice it's just an extremely inconvenient server browser. The location of a mission on the map has nothing to do with difficulty or geography of the mission or anything so it is literally just a server browser that is a pain in the ass to navigate. What is the point? Why not just give us a list like all sensible games have been doing for over a decade?
At its very core, it's still a fun game. If you liked Payday 1, you'll probably like this too. But it feels like a missed opportunity to fix Payday 1's multitudinous problems and instead opts to introduce a ton of new ones.
[editline]25th July 2013[/editline]
oh but the one thing that was improved is the music. the music in Payday 1 was fucking incredible.
the music in Payday 2 is... fucking transcendent.

(Not mine)
Good god.
I have teh same mask, it's creepy as all fuck
I have to admit, considering the fact stealth is as useful as it is, the idea you only get silencers as random drops is a little baffling.
Yeah I'd say the weapon parts should be buyable whenever you have the money, rather than having to find one and then buy it.
