Another interesting looking indie-game, why is the indie scene so amazing in the last few months?

Indie developers really have no restrictions.
They can make what they want.
They should really add vehicles like jeeps so you can travel faster trough the map.

Because big boy game companies are shoveling pure shit these days, This has happened before, indie becoming more popular because the mainline is so stale.
On this game: SHIT that was fun, cant wait to see MP and vehicles would be fun to. For alpha the AI is pretty rad. The footstep sounds really get to me ... ill be camping like a bitch and ill hear walking but not see anyone! i think there should be closer proximity to the sounds.
This is awesome. Indie games are having a fucking superb couple of years, but especially this year it's gone bonkers - Terraria, Project Zomboid and now this? Christ.
Awesome, can't wait to see how this develops over time.
indie...??? no building blocks????? scratching my head on this one.... ???!!!

what are you talking about...????!!!!
This is pretty fun to play. I can't wait for more guns.
Do you think they'd add vehicles?

RUNNING with rifles.
But yeah, I hope so, this game has a lot potential, I really hope the keep expanding it. Also helicopters would be cool.
Mac compatible, yes?
I captured the airport by myself, there was the usual squad of campers there and I killed them all during a night raid. I got promoted from Sargent to 2nd Lieutenant. The hero later died in an attack at the suburbs. I wish high ranking ai was always on the attack because usually they just camp, forcing the lower ranks to camp with them.
This game is hard.
Reminds me of Men Of War when you control a single infantry unit.
Will keep an eye on this one.
This game also seems easy to mod, the textures and sound files are simple PNG and WAVE files and the random soldier names are in a big text file.

:ohdear:
Land vehicles like tanks and jeeps and the sort are being considered, but probably won't come until the far future because there's only one dev. I've talked with Pasi (the dev) about whether the game will become commercial in the future or not.
The current vision of the distribution model is that further pre-alpha releases will be free, but at some point in the future it may very well be that the beta/final game will go commercial. At the moment I'm not seeing that happening too soon, as the game design is still open and the quality is not on the level that I would have the nerve to ask anyone to pay for it. The eventual price range won't be more than 5 - 10$ I'm sure, it's a small scale indie game after all.
Oh and by the way, the two green squares on the map are where your AI commander has planned for his forces to meet and where his forces will attack.

It actually looks pretty cool.
This is really fucking fun, can't wait for a final release.
I have said for years that there needs to be a game like this, but not being able to program so much as a "Hello World" is a real handicap. Great to see it's being done, shows a lot of promise too.
I hope he implements machinegun nests, mines and mortars.
Then it will be a proper trench warfare game :v:
Yeah. Aside from some minor adjustments with character movement I think this game really just needs more features and it's gold.
More features being MP (with AI maybe so you could have 16v16 + AI), hundreds, maybe thousands of troops (depending on engine capabilities and hardware limitations), and then weapons and vehicles and shit. I would dish out some serious cash for all of this.
I want first/third person aiming and a circular "line of sight" around the player that enemies have to be in to appear and shrinks during the night.
Odd, I get an error message reading 'Invalid vector <T> subscript'. Looks like a really cool game, wish I could play it.

That would be cool. It would be especially tense when you hear footsteps at night and can't the unit it is coming from.
I was actually thinking of having sound indicators, but making shift walk totally silent.
Taking over buildings/buying builds would be nice
To afford better guns
The creator must be a MGS fan, so far I have encountered characters named directly after MGS1 characters, for example:
Roy Campbell
Kenneth Baker
Donald Anderson
I'm going to check the text file to see if there is more.

So, by random chance, Bruce Campbell and I took over the East Trenches in a daring nighttime attack?
Fucking rad.
