There better be a map that's simply a single pointy hill with a lone blossom tree.
Samurai class though? They do know that samurai possessed a broad range of skills and wore a variable amount of armour right? Early samurai were usualy light archer cavalry rather than swordsmen. it was only around the time that guns came out that they were using metal armour. Ashigaru (or whatever the peasant soldiers were called at whatever time) would simply be lesser samurai and most people would rather avoid playing a class that's simply a weaker version of another.

it prolly wont be 100% accurate
obviously people would rather play as a knight than a peasant man at arms, but it still works out
You know, while it's fun and it still works just fine, the Vanguard class kind of bothers me on a metagame level.
The Knight is the tank, he's a damage sponge with a high level of damage, but he's slow.
The Man at Arms is the fragile speedster, he's fast but has a low output of damage compared to the Knight and is fragile.
The Archer is the archer. He's got range, but he breaks easily.
While I dislike the Archer, it falls into the balance triangle. Then you enter the Vanguard.
He's fast, fast enough to keep up with the Archer and MaA, if not catch them, he's got decent armour, he has more range than the knight, with the exception of a few weapons he does more damage than the Knight. Technically his attacks are slow, but he's got windup comparable to the MaA sometimes.
He's just all over the place. He's a heavier hitter than the Knight, and the only bit of balance he has is his medium level of armour and lack of shield, a weakness that many of the other two go without.
It just bothers me.

In gameplay it works out just fine, but on paper he seems really unbalanced.
I've never loved a game as much as I suck at it until I played Chivalry.
And fucking LOOOOOVE Chivalry.

There is indeed a samurai class.
The classes in bushido will be:
- Archer as japanese archer
- Man at arms as ashigaru (probably as seen on the screenshot)
- Vanguard as Monk warrior
- Knight as Samurai
- And maybe a new class? The ninja? (It's not on the screenshot but they've talked about that)

But that's just... wrong. Samurai used bow and spear and sword and wore metal armours and leather armours and no armours. The ashigaru did the exact same (minus some of the swords) and the warrior monks were similar. It'd be a dumb to organise player classes by social teir.
Oh no a mod that is trying to transfer the setting to feudal Japan isn't 100% accurate what a horrible piece of shit

Next you'll be telling us that the Agathans and Mason Order are fictional.
I propose some FP archery dicking tonight

Get over it.
:I
asian with katana = accurate depiction of samurai
[editline]12th April 2013[/editline]
that is all i need
Better rephrase that so that i sound more whiny but with less of the superfluous:
Why can't we all be samurai? There's enough types of samurai. Nobody needs to be a peasant
*cries for the peasants*
The man at arms and the archers are filthy peasants why should it be different?
The man at arms and the archers are filthy peasants why should it be different?
Which is funny because technically a man-at-arms is a knight in service to a landed lord.
The man at arms and the archers are filthy peasants why should it be different?
Agatha archer and MAA have the best goddamn taunts.
"Stop looking at me like that! It's creepy!"
Man-at-arms has just been altered to mean a common born soldier, a step above a peasant levy but below a knight.

I agree.

Your sword looks a little short, y'know what I mean?

I disagree. The mix of a large number of peasants, some mercenary-like fighters and just a few knights was really enjoyable to me in Warband CRPG. I loved the asymmetric fighting gameplay that this created.
I've gotten way better as Knight. I've almost got the Vet helm.
[editline]13th April 2013[/editline]
But as archer, I love the shortbow+thrusting dagger combo.
It just destroys anus.
Blocking is so fucked right now. You can block things without even looking at them. I have a higher chance to block staring at my opponent head on and having him attack me from the sides than I do looking at his weapon while I block.

I've had no trouble blocking.
Well, the last update listed "improved blocking" as a feature, and I've had zero problems blocking. Perhaps they changed the system that you guys were used to.
I have mastered the art of MaA.
Using my dodge and ducking ill get close and back away as your try to hit me.
Its a god damn parkour class.

More of a letter opener, really.
