I'd like to see all of the ranged stuff in the game nerfed to the point where it can turn the tide in a fight, but not reduce your health so much you die from stubbing your toe. And make the Archer a bit more durable. A pure ranged class feels out of place in this game.
Imo the bows, and javs are fine as is. Crossbows are just overpowered. And the sling is a piece of shit.

Getting arched is never fun.
I heavily dislike archers because they're completely against the point of the game that is melee combat. The second reason is because they're annoying as hell. Most of the time they're a complete load to your team, always hang back and rarely hit, can't shoot for shit and will miss at close range if you rush them, can't fight, and they fire at people who are distracted with the real game, and there's nothing more annoying than getting flinched by an arrow and then killed by the guy you were previously locked in close combat with. For the most part you tend to be able to tell who can't fight or is useless on your team because they'll go straight for archer, and then plant themselves far, far away from the battlefield, scoring a hit every few minutes and contributing fuck all to the team, while the defending team just fires blindly into choke points. It's boring as hell.
At least in the current build, right now projectiles, I mean bolts are too fast to dodge. Having too many archers in your team is like having too many snipers in any FPS its not fun for anyone. The only reason we are seeing so many archers these days is because Crossbows are pretty OP.

It's boring as hell.[/QUOTE] To be honest, I think archer'd be a way better addition if he didn't feel so luck based. You either take someone out in a single arrow or miss every time. The bow mechanics are also clunky and awkward as fuck, and probably also glitched. Many times I have redrawn an arrow only to see my ammo counter go down. It would be nice to implement a War of the Roses style archery system, archers land much more consecutive hits but they do much less damage. I also like WotR's system of 'right click draws your arrow, while you're drawing, left click to fire or right click to put arrow back'. Chivalry also seems to have a big problem with bows pretty much just being shit crossbows. Crossbows don't have any problem with the ridiculously awkward drawing, the reload time is pretty small, and they do much more damage.
Just copy the mount and blade system. Projectile accuracy bloom is in the game. It only works in singleplayer, the crosshair does get bigger and smaller on movement but its bugged so it doesn't do anything.
Anyone notice an increase in teleporting Vanguards lately?

You expect me to be chivalrous and attack you from the front? Yeah no, you don't need that neck. You want me to let you pull out your daggers so you can block a claymore that weighs more then you? I'm sorry, you have cancer and I have to surgically remove it.
Ughhh every time I boot up the game I get bored in like 5 minutes now, I guess i'll just have to wait for the pro-mod. I really hope with that mod that they're smart enough to nerf feinting in a way that makes it still useful defensively (with slightly higher penalties than it used to have) yet makes it offensively less viable.

Mostly when using the Maul I find that battles boil down to parry and return, if this is the case the other guy WILL run out of stamina first and end up stunned, giving you more than enough time to line up an oeverhead headshot and kill him instantly. Now when you parry a dagger archer he has enough time to recover, raise a block, lower it and interrupt the swing of your maul before it gets tot the point where it cannot be stopped. This is also true of other weapons with slow wind-ups like the Zewihandler but in the case of the Zwei they don't have time to block first. However if you DO time it right and land a hit on the archer he will either have 0 stamina and will get stunned next hit or he will fail the block and die instantly unless you somehow hit him in the foot.
Considering the Maul is slow as balls I think you should prepare to be overwhelmed by fast weapons in a tradeoff for your destructive power.
i've been playing archer lately because it's the only thing I haven't unlocked most things in. It's literally the best role for pissing people off. I love it when someone makes a bee-line for me just because i'm an archer expecting a push-over and I use all my dope ass vanguard/knight fighting skillz to behead him. all that angerrrr
