Deadliest Warrior's UI looks awful.
Shitty metallic border textures around the UI elements is something I would expect on a ~custom~ gmod RP server.

Yeah I'm wonderig, what does contribute to leveling up? kills or score? Because like ramming the door in the TO map kill the paesants, kill the king gives as much exp as wiping an entire army
also when are glowing helmet effect unlocked? 30 or 40?
you are playing a beta
TBH, the UI aesthetics aren't something I expect to change between now and the game's release. It seems to be more Deadliest Warrior's motif than anything.

Unlocks are kill-based while levels are score-based (which is a combination of playing objectives and killing people).
Unlocks are kill-based while levels are score-based (which is a combination of playing objectives and killing people).
Ah thanks, wanted to know about levels, it's been a while since I unlocked everything.
All the Vikings weapons are getting a small damage buff next patch, and their throwing weapons are getting more of a buff than melee weapons, but the shield will be thrown slower.
Currently dual wielding does less damage than single wielding, and the double strike only does normal one handed damage.
Imma straight up quote this:
All Viking weapons are getting a small buff, including thrown weapons which will do significantly more damage - shield throw will be a little slower but you'll be able to pick the shield up again. We're also working on improving the throw mechanic in general.
Dual wield weapons as of next patch will do the same damage non-dual wield variants deal currently, while non-dual wield will do slightly more than they do now. The benefit of dual wielding is your base combo speed is higher, which is a bonus right off the bat but is especially noticeable when combined with berserker combos. Dual wield also has slightly slower recovery, however, so when you stop comboing you're more vulnerable. Obviously dual wield has to have downsides or it would gain unwarranted superiority over non-dual wield.

i hope that emblem makes it into the base game so you can apply it to a vanguard, then it'd really be accurate

But you can already make solaire vanguards in chivalry.

Oh man, they still didn't fix that darn quarterstaff. It's a goddamn light stick for god sake. And it's slower than a short sword...that isn't right at all.

The qaurter staff is perfectly fine, the indirect way it hits is more than enough to compensate and a person who is skilled with it can pretty much get around any block.

It is a wooden concentrate of hate and bloodlust, and in the right hands is unstoppable. It doesn't need a buff.

I wouldn't mind it getting just a little more range. Not much, just a little.
I wouldn't mind it getting just a little more range. Not much, just a little.
Not at all, the 1/4 staff isn't a hit and run weapon, the gist of it being "it has shit damage, shit range, but it hits fast as shit", and shit damage it has, so much that you need 3 hit to kill and archer, or 2 overheads. Basically the 1/4 is an in-your-face kind of weapon, meaning you get up close personall and you don't leave until your target is dead so, it isn't like the general MAA weaponry, and to be able to do its task it needs a buff of attack speed as it stands its pretty useless for any role that isnt 1 on 1, since it doesnt have the damage to 2 shot archers and hunt them down, nor does it have the range to poke and wear down knights and vanguards.
tl;dr the 1/4 staff doesnt do its job very well and it doesnt fill any combat niche very well so it needs a buff
Man, why did they have to pick the most cliche stuff for DW, too much viking and samurai hype. Those two things are far too pervasive in popular culture, literally every medieval-y game and movie does samurai and viking crap it seems

Chivalry DLC Deadliest Warrior's DLC#1 Just as Deadly but not as Clichéy Warriors
hmm i was thinking about something that is missing in Chivalry Medieval warfare.
When you use "The Maul" or "Grandmace" or other heavy stuff etc. And swing it on stoned walls you wont leave a crack or some dust coming off when hitting on walls and stuff.
Here is my poor drawing attempt on how it looks like:

Haven't played Chivalry in a while, going to get back into it later!

I used to be pretty good too. I better get a friend in on it with me then, we can share in the rage.

Chivalry: Hipster Warrior
[editline]25th October 2013[/editline]
I was actually surprised when I first played Deadliest Warrior, I was expecting the Viking to be OP but he felt more like the worst class.
To used to Viking Berserkers from PVK2 with their lawn mowers
Haven't played Chivalry in a while, going to get back into it later!
Had the same idea. Weapons still won't unlock. :(
Is Chivalry Deadliest Warrior worth the price?
Haven't played Chivalry in a while, going to get back into it later!
I jumped back in and it was still easy. A lot of new players I guess/hope.
3.5 GB update anyone?
[editline]25th October 2013[/editline]
It's the SDK according to reddit;
Current Functionality:
Modded Server browser support (different colors for servers with custom maps, custom code; additional column with mod name).
Closed Workshop support for maps (join the steam group to upload maps).
Auto Downloads when joining a modded server.
Some things to look forward to:
Full Workshop support for maps
Auto Workshop downloads for clients
Workshop download tool for servers (can run as a schedule task / rcon job)
Server browser support (different colors for servers with custom maps, custom code; additional column with mod name)
SDK Changes:
Improved and expanded error messages
Cooking and Workshop uploading process changed to include a GUID:
-- Do the first cook the same way
-- The cook will create a directory like CookedSDK\AOCSDKLevels_E1ED54B24E9F8DE8C917B1ABC51E4040
-- The GUID is the bit after the underscore
-- Edit your workshop upload file (e.g. wsinfoSDKTest.txt); put the _whole directory name in the
"$PackageDirectory" variable, including the GUID part
-- Upload as before
-- Next time you cook this package, if you want to upload to the same workshop file, add this to the COOK.bat:
"-Guid=ZZZ" (without the quotation marks), where ZZZ is replaced with the GUID for your package (in the last
example, E1ED54B24E9F8DE8C917B1ABC51E4040)
Important Information:
If you are opted into the Steam Client Beta (https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Betas), you will not be
able to successfully join a Workshop server. You will get the message “"Can't download Workshop information".
Getting started with map editing
Uploading to Steam Workshop
CU2 Patch 1.2:
Fixed weapon unlock statistics not being displayed properly on client.
Fixed issue with purchased helmets.
Fixed issue with duel stats not saving.
