I'm not an expert on balancing mana cost with minion attack/health, but you get the basic idea.

Loses -1/-1 so gains +1/+1?

Too slow, too pricey, dies to half of the board clears in use.
Perfect fit for a next expansion.
Loses -1/-1 so gains +1/+1?
No, sorry. It loses 1 health, 1 attack and another friendly minion gains that in return.
What would need to be different to make it more efficient? Costing less?

I'm not really getting the point of the card. If it loses -1/-1 and another card gains +1/+1, there's no stats being improved, you're getting nothing new on your board.

The imp is a 4/4 with a 1/1 friendly minion on the board. The turn ends and the imp now becomes a 3/3 and the 1/1 becomes a 2/2.
I see what you're saying about not gaining anything. Perhaps giving the increase to ALL minions on the board would make it worthwhile?

Maybe have a random minion get +2 health and a random minion get +2 attack, and the imp loses 1 health and attack?
So first turn it's 3/3 with stealth -> give a random minion 1/1 at the end of your turn
Make it 4 mana and it won't be utterly terrible, but it still won't see any play
I'd even say make it 3 mana(considering Shattered is 3/2, you can choose the minion and you don't have to wait a turn which is huge because you can make efficient trades), but for Warlock that would be too excessive.
There's no reason he should lose any stat points for that effect.
I'm thinking if it gave 2/2 instead it would make it somewhat effective. Also lowering the cost to 4 like suggested would make more sense.
Arcane nullifier and iron sensai makes mages cry. A 5/7 that cannot be targeted, its great.
It's a cool idea but you would probably risk falling behind using it

Yeah it wouldn't be the hardest to deal with for the enemy. But buffing up an already 7/7+ minion would make for a good time if the enemy had already used their hard removal cards.
Edit :
I came up with another quick idea for a card. Needs more work than my other one most likely, but you get the basic idea.

Its like brawl but terrible.
The idea is neat though.

WE GOT 'EM MART BABY
Also I'm gonna need Sandvich9 or whatever his name was, I need his photoshop skills to make a 'Sheildedboobernaut'.
That was one of the things horrifyingly screamed when a certain lethal was found while roping.

Wow.
So rogues can just take all your cards on the field, and throw them back in your hand?
so, how are they not broken and overpowered?

Because there are decks that can throw all the cards in your hand back onto the field and slap your shit silly.

vanish has lots of downsides
it costs 6 mana, it puts the rogue's minions back into their hand as well, it can make you benefit from minions that are used mostly because of their battlecry, etc
Man
Only paladin and mage in arena
What is this
Just moved from Dragon Priest to the good ol' classic Control Priest.
Healing Circle + Cleric + Pyromancer combo is the best feeling ever.
Plus, you get to hang out with all the cool grills like Northshire Cleric, Holy Champion, Cabal Shadow Priest, Justicar Trueheart and Confessor Paletress.

At it's best, vanish is usually just a board reset that gives the other play the advantage of going first. It's actually not that good of a card and is basically never used in high tier play. 6 mana is a lot for a card that gives no card advantage.

Prepare yourself for the ultimate Dennis!

Should we update the OP so new players know what new spells and minions to watch out for?
Just some examples of notable cards:
Druid: Darnassus Aspirant, Keeper of the Grove.
Hunter: Freezing Trap.
Mage: Unstable Portal, Flamewaker.
Paladin: Murloc Knight, Mysterious Challenger(!)
Priest: Cabal Shadow Priest, Lightbomb, Thoughsteal.
Rogue: ...eh.
Shaman: Hex, Thunder Bluff Valiant.
Warlock: Shadowflame, Power Overwhelming, Molten & Mountain Giant.
Warrior: Brawl, Grim Patron
Neutral: Piloted Shredder, Dr Boom, Alexstrasza, Sylvanas, Big Game Hunter.
Some of those cards are hard to watch out for because they're proactive threats that are often played with combos. You'll learn about most AoEs the best when they fuck you and IMO thats the best way to learn about that sort of card. A better update would probably be a quick summary of popular archetypes with those cards included and how to spot them early (i.e Handlock T2 Tap). Maybe a list of must craft cards like Shredder and Dr. Bum.
Also dude C'mon
Rogue: S17 Agent, Sap, Tinkers Sharpsword Oil, Bladeflurry
It's like the pleasure isn't even mine
I need a molten giant for my Handlock deck so bad. I'm about to print a picture of it just to have one.

Oh for sure.
I wish I updated the original OP, but I never got around to doing it.
It needed a lot of fixing.
I'd say watch out for Burgle, but that's like saying watch out for priest thoughtstealing your good shit.
