I think he's making some valid points, but there's no excuse for absolutely nuking Warsong like that.
"3 mana 2/3 is the soul of the card" HS devs confirmed to be mentally retarded.
That's it guys, I quit. It's a game run by developers who don't understand their own game. Fuck it all.
I'm out.
I really hope the only thing that Overwatch devs share with Hearthstone's is where they work.
I'm going to maybe make an unpopular opinion but I think this Tavern Brawl is one of the worst they've put out. I don't dislike randomness in these brawls but the gimmick of fluctuating mana costs gets old quick and the games are pretty much only decided by whose large minion costs less earlier. The cheaper mana costs also don't really create any interesting stories like you might hope, aside from somebody maybe pulling off some otherwise impossible comeback or ssome minion getting ridiculously big because it can't be contested.
I dunno, I feel like if they wanted to do the random cheap minion thing they could have brought back the unstable portal brawl.

Due to how super-active the Heroes of the Storm dev team is with balances, tweaks, and the like, I feel like the situation with Hearthstone is probably just a Hearthstone team quirk.
I have to admit, I put in a Ball of Spiders in my midrange Hunter deck, and it's so fun.
[editline]15th October 2015[/editline]
I just got Timber Wolf + King Krush lethal
Ball of Spiders is super fun but idk how many games I lost because I didn't play a Highmane on turn 6.
2 x Webspinner
2 x Ball of Spiders
2 x Ram Wrangler
I just need 2 x Lock and Load and I'll have the best RNGHunter deck that never runs out of cards.
Yeah, exactly same as it was just before the nerf, except it doesn't proc on token creatures.
Wouldn't help at all
99% of Patron's brokenness is frothing berserker gaining charge and generating 22+ damage from a completely empty board state with the help of patron+whirlwind+deaths bite+etc. This is actually what the old Math Warrior deck did before Patrons existed. It was a good deck but the patrons are what allowed it to better survive stuff like tempo/zoo, allowed frothings to get to insane damage numbers from an empty board, and also give it an alternate win condition if you don't draw frothing.
Patrons aren't really the OP win condition for the deck, I'd argue patron itself is pretty balanced. They are mostly useful in that patrons really help out against aggressive matchups.

Way to take it out of context and completely miss his point
While i don't really care for the fact that warsong is actually useless now it's really obvious they wanted warsong to not actually be a good card to push people away from thinking of charge in this manner and to have warsong act purely as a "baby's first build-around card" for new players (as every new player starts with this card). They don't intend for players to actually stick with using the card once they actually learn the game.
I think they should have made the card a 3/3 and give +2 damage or something. But its pretty obvious to me they just don't want charge as a mechanic being good, which makes sense as Hearthstone doesn't give the players any means to stop charge minions (unlike every other CCG).
i was getting mad and wondering where my mysterious challengers were in my secret pally as i went 5 games without drawing them
i forgot to put them in
come back to hearthstone for the first time in a bit
play coin dark cultist turn 2 into dark cultist turn 3
mage plays unstable portal into scarlet purifier
well that's me done with hearthstone again for a bit
Oh gosh I am so late to learn about the warsong nerf.
Finally I can play my Shaman uninhibited!
Patron didn't stop it from hitting legend last season but games against it were torture.
Must have had 0 percent winrate against it...

have fun winning with shaman against secrets pally.
[editline]15th October 2015[/editline]
I love Shaman so much but it's just so bad right now even with the new cards. I have 455 shaman wins but I don't know if I can bare going against 6 straight secret pallys in a row.

Really? Secret pally seems like an okay matchup, just hex the mysterious challenger or something. Are you sure you have a solid early game? Feral Spirit really helps compete with Muster for battle

Huh?
Why am I the one to get all the shitty decks in this tavern brawl, I've lost about 11 games in a row.
Fun Fact: There are a total of 133 spells from Six sets of cards (basic included) from 9 different classes.
If you were playing a mage, and hoped for a lucky spell from Spellslinger, you'd have to fight 1/133 odds of getting a Flamestrike.
Also so does your opponent.

this brawl <3
[editline]16th October 2015[/editline]
I haven't had this much fun with this game for a long time
Only brawl I've played more than once so far. The snowballs and comebacks are ridiculous no matter whether they happen to me or my opponent, it's insane.
Also had a guy concede after my remaining 3 mana were spent on a Warsong Commander, Frothing Berserker and a Stonetusk Boar, with still 1-2 minions on my field ready to trade with his. I think the combination of battlecries alone made him instaconcede out of habit.

ty arena
Bought 7 TGT packs looking for some golds...

I'm unsure if I want to d/e her. Don't have her yet, but it doesn't seem she's viable at all.
I have 2,000 dust, someone bitch slap me and tell me crafting two cabals is worth it.
I wanna take my dragon priest to the next level since I have all dragon cards and nearly all priest cards, but I don't have Vol-Jin either. Is it worth crafting two cabals without a Vol-Jin?
I almost never play Priest.. but Dragon Priest is the most fun I've had with the class.
[editline]17th October 2015[/editline]
nvm asaratha showed me the light
Gah, I really hope those rumors about a new adventure being revealed at Blizzcon are true.
(Karazhan, please!)
TGT just fell flat.
It didn't really give us anything new deck-wise except for Secret Paladin and Dragon Priest, and those only needed a single card to become viable.
The Inspire mechanic was meh, Joust is extremely unreliable even in control decks, it'll always pull your one Zombie Chow anyway :v:
Lock and Load/Control Hunter doesn't work...yet. Also, Acidmaw might be the worst card in the entire game, geez.
Hero Power Mage with Majordomo became a really silly version of Freeze Mage, rarely used.
Totem Shaman looked amazing, didn't help them enough though.
Rogue didn't get anything.
The big winners this expansion was prolly Paladin and Tempo Mage.
Outside of that, did we really get anything 'Wow!' except for Darnassus Aspirant, Murloc Knight, Twilight Guardian, Mysterious Challenger, Justicar Trueheart?
Yeah, TGT had some standout cards, but in an expansion this big, this is the first time that I didn't really need many cards? Like, after my monster first day of unpacking/crafting I was sort of done.
And so many cards just aren't as good as classic. Like, who would play flame lance over fireball? If you made a deck of nothing but TGT cards against a deck of nothing but classic cards, there's a small chance of the TGT winning. TGT feels like a mini-expansion or something, with only the very best cards being worth playing. Or maybe I'm thinking about it too hard. I do love dragon Priest..
Cabal is paying for itself too. This is nice.
Anyone going for legend this season? What'll you be using?
I was wondering my rogue deck can do it now that patron isn't around, it got up to rank 2 easily last season but kept running into patron warriors, so had to swap...

Started playing this game last week at the behest of my friend who is legend (was apparently top 15 in NA last season or a few seasons ago? idk i idrc). I play a lot of MTG but Jesus Christ the grind in this game seems real. How are you supposed to get cards for decks short of just opening a million packs? I opened a pack and got a golden legendary (Blingtron?) but apparently that can only even get me 1 non-gold legendary?

You can turn it into Dr Boom though, that's a good start.
Otherwise I'd have to agree, the grind is huge in HS unless you want to throw in some dosh.
the grind is pretty bad early on, but if you can build up 150 gold you can do arena and if you're good enough (and with daily quest help) you can play arena indefinitely (where everyone is on an even playing field)
not to mention arena is more gold efficient than buying packs

On the other hand, paying arena is an experience that can only be described as having your soul pass a kidney stone.
'I should try out Flare Hunter now with all these Secret Pallies around.'
'Oh crap, is this a Control Paladin?'
