Yeah, TGT had some standout cards, but in an expansion this big, this is the first time that I didn't really need many cards? Like, after my monster first day of unpacking/crafting I was sort of done. And so many cards just aren't as good as classic. Like, who would play flame lance over fireball? If you made a deck of nothing but TGT cards against a deck of nothing but classic cards, there's a small chance of the TGT winning. TGT feels like a mini-expansion or something, with only the very best cards being worth playing. Or maybe I'm thinking about it too hard. I do love dragon Priest.. Cabal is paying for itself too. This is nice.
TGT did more for arena (lol get it) than constructed IMO
the grind is pretty bad early on, but if you can build up 150 gold you can do arena and if you're good enough (and with daily quest help) you can play arena indefinitely (where everyone is on an even playing field) not to mention arena is more gold efficient than buying packs
How many people here use Heartharena for drafting? I've always wanted to play more arena, but I'm not very good at deck building.
It's difficult to turn a gold profit from arena nowadays, I really wouldn't recommend new players to try it for any other reason than fun.
yea in reality new players probably shouldn't play arena I just like to offer it because a lot of new players think the they can't win games without grinding a lot, but as long as you have enough skill (and some luck obv) you can make the grinding go faster
Started playing this game last week at the behest of my friend who is legend (was apparently top 15 in NA last season or a few seasons ago? idk i idrc). I play a lot of MTG but Jesus Christ the grind in this game seems real. How are you supposed to get cards for decks short of just opening a million packs? I opened a pack and got a golden legendary (Blingtron?) but apparently that can only even get me 1 non-gold legendary?
Its only that bad if your first goal when you start out is to "unlock all the cards so I can play all the decks" which is a terrible goal to have when playing a CCG You will never make a complete set unless you spend thousands. That is like trying to make a complete set of cards in MTG There are plenty of ways to win, have fun and get good at the game requiring very little to no investment. And it is easier than you think to craft the key cards you need for (really good) decks. I'd check out trump's F2P series on youtube. He starts a F2P account at the start of the month and then climbs to legend (or close) by the end. He's a good player granted, but it teaches you what things are worth spending dust/gold/packs on, how to build a deck that is good and F2P friendly, etc. [editline]17th October 2015[/editline]
yea in reality new players probably shouldn't play arena I just like to offer it because a lot of new players think the they can't win games without grinding a lot, but as long as you have enough skill (and some luck obv) you can make the grinding go faster
Arena is great for new players, it's what I did. Not completely new, but new-ish Arena is nice in that you don't need a collection to have the full experience first of all. It also teaches you the importance of getting good card value, good trading, building tempo, etc and other facets on how to actually play well if you want to progress into the consistent 7+ wins tier of players. Its also the best way to get new packs/cards without feeling like your collection isn't complete enough. As long as you get at least 2-3 wins in arena the cost of doing it isn't anymore than the cost to buy a pack so you break even, and usually get a little bit extra (dust, some gold) on top. Fact of the matter constructed simply isn't that great past rank 17-16 or so (which is pretty quick to get to) unless you at least are very good at the game or have a pretty decent deck. That takes time to develop, and you'll be frustrated trying to climb the ladder until you get there. Dragon Priest is the most fun I've had with Priest. Between Chillmaw and crazy Cabal plays it can require a lot of crafty thinking.

Going to try to get Hearthstone working on my android phone. Been getting weird errors but there's apparently work arounds. On that note, does anyone with HS on android know how good it is on such a small screen?

I've accidentally darkbombed myself and my own minions too many times on mobile. Also, make sure you're on a stable connection when playing ranked. Getting randomly disconnected really sucks.

That's the issue I find myself having. Something about the smaller screen takes less of my attention and I find myself making more sub optimal plays as a result.
After putting up with so much bullshit for so long, I have finally become corrupted and created a hunter face deck. Averaging majority wins against control warrior/handlocks and other bullshit decks has never felt so great.
No blade.. fury? Flurry? I forgot what it was called but I thought that card was a must have in all Rouge decks. Disclaimer, I don't really play Rouge.
Decided to play some Tavern Brawl to finish up my dailies. Lost a game to a ridiculous Aviana-combo with a Finnicky Cloakfield to keep her safe for 2 turns. The guy adds me after the game, we both laugh a lot about it all. He asks me if he can spectate me for his quest and I agree. After 3 games of insane RNG I finally win thanks to milling half of my opponents deck through a Fel Reaver. We're both losing our shit at this point. He gets his pack, we both thank eachother, I wish him good luck on his unpacking. BAM he unpacks Cenarius. What a lovely way to finish the evening, thanks for everything, random stranger :cat:
So....what beats ebola Druid?
I made a deck, its decent. Mechs just kinda work regardless of what class you put them in, and its different enough to get an edge because people don't know what to play around. The target dummies are in the deck because they work kinda well with the rest of the deck, though just running some random 1 drop and an additional backstab instead might be superior
assassins blade is way too slow for that deck (especially with no blade flurry)
[t]http://i.imgur.com/vXn6Z39.png[/t] I've been playing around with this deck and so far its seems to be working amazingly. I've gone from rank 20 to rank 14 with out losing a single game

I've gone from rank 20 to rank 14 with out losing a single game
i'd take out the gadzgetgan jouster (you don't have that many big minions) and one of those oozes, then put 2 totem golems in there. maybe take out the worgen and put another thunder bluff as well
id do one golem and maybe another feral instead, golem can fuck up your curve too much. zombie chows are also good in shaman because of flametounge [editline]18th October 2015[/editline] heres forsens bloodlust shaman ive been trying

Alright, Tavern Brawl: Turn 1 I play Croc. My Opponent plays Coliseum Manager, then coins a secret. T2 I attack face, then play a Voidwalker which gets copied by Mirror Entity. My Opponent plays Flame Leviathan and kills my Voidwalker with his minions. T3 I play Magma Rager and Life Tap. I draw another Magma Rager. I use my Croc to kill his surviving Voidwalker My Opponent attacks his Coliseum Manager into my Croc, then pings my Magma Rager. He domes me for seven then plays a Voidwalker. I'm so perplexed by how the Voidwalker came to exist and infuriated at being dealt a double Magma Rager deck I concede. How did this Voidwalker come to be? My opponent refuses to add me. He never played Portal and there was never a Duplicate proc. The Voidwalker costed 1 mana. [editline]18th October 2015[/editline] :mystery:
Did anyone watch the championship yesterday? Man the finale was so sad [sp]glad Forsen won tho[/sp]
Forsen deserved to win after being actually fucked by the rules in the last one, I feel for savjz but Forsen earned the win after accepting to settle it with a bo3 and winning again, even tho he had higher rank and savjz was bein a baby.
Decided to make up some TGT cards for Rogue since they were kinda left out. :v:
I feel like Poison Supplier could be a little weaker if it has Stealth on top of that effect.
Flamestrike or Light Bomb? What's the best?
Flamestrike or Light Bomb? What's the best?
I don't think those cards are competing for a slot in any deck
Flamestrike because its more flexible, you can play it when you have a board to close out the game. And most deck run a lot of small minions, which often have more health than attack. Though in a meta dominated by stuff like handlock lightbomb is obviously better.
in aggressive decks minions usually have more attack than health
Running Combo Druid with Thaurissan feels so dirty. And so good. It's not as bad as Patron because you need board presence to OTK, but you don't really need a lot of it. If you've gotten off any Emperor charges with even 4 or 5 cards in your hand your opponent has to frantically remove any minion that touches the board. Taunt isn't all that common currently so carving people up from 25+ health is happening way more often than I feel like it should be. And even if you don't draw the combo, you've got very solid plays to win with the standard mid range method. This is obviously old news to most of you but I've been able to resist running combo in my midrange Druid decks up until now.
