Interestingly enough, it's a more efficient card than Fireball. 8:5 (1.6 damage/mana) compared to 6:4 (1.5 damage/mana). Problem is, you're not going to need that extra 2 damage. It works against the more "aggressive" dragons (Onyxia, Nefarian) and the Giants, but if anything it's just a budget replacement for BGH. Kinda interested to see how it'll go though.
Yeah that's a good way of putting it, budget BGH; like how the Sea Kraken is budget late game legendary.
If anyone's interested, the third ChallengeStone is live. (Stream)
i saved up my gold for this shit seriously i hope 97 of the cards are fantastic, so far we only saw like, 3 good ones?
You pay 1 mana for 2 damage but you lose the ability to go face with it. Yet another one of the "it's useful in arena but trash in constructed" cards. TGT is shaping up to be arena fodder expansion at this point. Pity.
this is like the best part about it arena needs more useful cards since you cant really combo like in constructed.
i've saved over 1500 gold for this expansion if only a handful of the cards we get in this expansion prove to be useful, i'll most likely buy classic/gvg packs and craft the cards with the dust i get from them
I haven't played in awhile. Is Deathwing still retardly good?
this is like the best part about it arena needs more useful cards since you cant really combo like in constructed.
One would assume that an expansion would have cards that are useful in a main game mode, not just the paid side attraction (no matter how much fun and better for some people said attraction is). Instead we are seeing cards that make people reconsider saving up for TGT packs. Because they are either boring, average or straight up worse than the cards we already have. Even if ALL of the remaining cards are awesome and useful TGT is a failure for Blizzard, failure in marketing. You don't hype up your expansion by showing them the worst stuff (and Spellslinger) for a week, that's just idiotic. So don't wonder why people are not happy with TGT.
I haven't played in awhile. Is Deathwing still retardly good?
Sorry to burst your bubble but deathwing was never retarded good
I've only seen him in one serious deck once for like one month
Deathwing cycles in and out of popularity with some really slow decks, more so since dergen synergy became a viable thing. The main issue is that like, Ysera is going to always be the best super slow Dragon and Deathwing is almost always just going to be a "haha no fuck you" card that dies to too much removal.
Turns out, mirror entity really isn't that good :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/an8nlSK.jpg[/t]
Deathwing just kind of sits in an awkward spot. He's too slow against aggro metas, but he's too easy to kill with removal in control meta.
I don't know. Every time I dropped him it was just game over, but I never do any serious games. I've had people bail out of the game as soon as I've dropped him before as well.
Guys, cheer up! The Shaman and Mage cards revealed in the stream were actually kinda cool. I can't say if they're great or not, but atleast they look fun to play around with. I'm extremely salty after all these crappy reveals, but I won't give up just yet. Also, I spent $49.99 on this so try to convince myself I did the right thing.
Sorry to burst your bubble but deathwing was never retarded good
Turn 10: "I, AM POWER, INCARNATE!!!" Turn 11: "I got the beast in my sights." That's how all Deathwing plays usually play out in some form or another. Or it's polymorph or powerword death, or Peacekeeper, or all the many ways to destroy or neuter Deathwing.
Deathwing is the ultimate "fuck you" card though. Nobody expects it and when you set up a situation where nobody expects it and can't possibly answer it, it is pretty sweet and delicious. [editline]1st August 2015[/editline] I wonder if you could run it well in a grinder deck Part of the reason why Majordomo works so well in grinder is that you run so many high value threats that by the time you drop domo they won't have any more answers for it. Or you run it early when you know it'll get removed under your terms allowing you to ping for 8 random damage every turn for the rest of the game. There is no better card than deathwing to top deck as your last card while they are drawing into fatigue after you forced all their removal out.

It was so weird though... I mean she was kinda behind but a Deathwing in a Secret Mage deck? Goes to show it makes for possibly the best mindfuckery comeback card if your opponent has no answer.
"I AM POWER INCARNATE!!" "Hello! Hello! Hello!" I concede to you.
"I AM POWER INCARNATE!!" "Hello! Hello! Hello!" I concede to you.
I'm not familiar with that card
I'm not familiar with that card
This will enlighten you
This will enlighten you
Absolutely aweseome :D Thanks!
The focus on divine shield in general is pretty interesting since it's pretty clearly a step away from the old design rhetoric of making the really sticky minions deathrattle minions (which was really cheapening the value of AoE) that sort of cropped up after Naxx. It's just hard to really get a proper sense of SK's worth when he competes with Shade, who appears better in almost every way.
Shade is a lot easier to remove. This will probably be better in rogue/paladin/priest. Gilbin stalker is already amazing on priest and saw play in some decks. Idk if its worth losing the health and paying a mana for the divine shield, but its interesting.
He doesn't compete with the shade, its actually pretty unique. This card is supposed to be played with buffs to get good value against pure stat minions. [editline]2nd August 2015[/editline] Blizzard are trying too hard to make the new cards fair.
Shades more or less just the closest minion I can compare him to, but I haven't really been thinking much about SK so perhaps I'm wrong. He's cool either way. I've been mostly theory crafting stuff with Demonfuse. That cards pretty interesting. T3 Silent Knight into T4 Velens just seems mana inefficient. Blessing of Might also works pretty nicely on SK as well. Rogue, dunno. I think shade still might be better since you can just let it sit and grow then use it as a target for Oil or Cold Blood.
why do i play arena. it just disappoints me every time :v: the only higher than rare cards i have ever gotten are a recombobulator and a bgh
This will probably be better in rogue/paladin/priest.
Silent Knight will probably see play only in Paladin decks since he curves well from T3 SK-> T4 BoK. The 3 drop spot for Priest is already heavily crowded and I don't know if Rogue is going to waste a turn 3 on dropping a Silent Knight just for a buff target when they have Violet Teacher to play on turn 4 and they have the tokens that she'll spawn from their spells for more buff targets.
I wonder what this month and next month's meta will be post release of Grand Tournament? I know after it releases I'm gonna slam $20 for some packs and see what I could do with them.
SK might see some good use in a divine shield heavy pally. I used to run a crusher pally before BM that focused on Blood Knight synergy and it worked really well. Only issue is it contests for the Blood Knight curve, but nobody says you couldn't run both and just drop one or the other depending on your draw and the opponent. I'd rather run SK than Scarlet Crusader in such a deck. If there are any good cards added in the expansion that interact with divine shield SK is going to be extremely strong.
Ugggghhhhhh, My custom deck can't win ranked except when I'm against total noobs. I just keep getting my shit wrecked by aggressive decks, I barely control anything. Either I'm doing something wrong, or I need to get just as aggressive. [editline]1st August 2015[/editline] It's either Mage, Rogue, or Hunter. I even got my shit wrecked by a noob Shaman. A fucking Shaman.
