just found a huge text file with tonns of accounts and passwords. i advise changing your password right away. i tried one and it worked so im not doubting for a second that all the rest do too. how the fuck have rockstar not been sued or anything for this?
just found a huge text file with tonns of accounts and passwords. i advise changing your password right away.
I don't even see the point anymore, it just keeps happening Rockstar doesn't give a shit
The fact their passwords are so limited, no special characters what the fuck? Rockstar doesn't know a thing about security.
Found this wreck driving around on the street [T]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/28490712517217149/67A3C8F26487E03E75D30CD8076BBC226158D3B3/[/T] [T]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/28490712517216852/061B7327F7DB4F9D0A0DE18B64F9920F7699607F/[/T]
fyi most passwords are simple number sequences. also animals and the number 1 are really common too. do any of you think rockstar will ever patch their shit? (also these passwords seem to be very new. 1 week old at the latest)
Played some GTA online with a friend. Fun times were had. more than likely, yeah. they make a program that simulates entering a password and whatever accounts use that password get hacked, i've seen it before on runescape.
give names?
there are alot of names.it would take ages to remove all the passwords. i dont think anybody here is affected but pm me your email used with rockstar if you want me to check.
there are alot of names.it would take ages to remove all the passwords. i dont think anybody here is affected but pm me your email used with rockstar if you want me to check.
Do any of them appear to be quite long or well-randomized? IE, ones that normally can't be bruteforced?
Rockstar will never patch anything. It's just not going to happen. This shit could cause your PC to burst into flames and they still wouldn't fix it.
This is quickly becoming some sort of bad running gag. Every week, until you like it I guess.
Do any of them appear to be quite long or well-randomized? IE, ones that normally can't be bruteforced?
I feel this is critically important enough of a question to be asked again on the top of a new page, rather than the very bottom of the previous one where it might be overlooked.
there are alot of names.it would take ages to remove all the passwords. i dont think anybody here is affected but pm me your email used with rockstar if you want me to check.
Ctrl+F Willox I guess.
someone got into my account thankfully I changed the password around, but fuck me. Can't R* be sued over this?
someone got into my account thankfully I changed the password around, but fuck me. Can't R* be sued over this?
They can. [editline]18th May 2015[/editline] Negligence.
someone got into my account thankfully I changed the password around, but fuck me. Can't R* be sued over this?
Probably worth asking since you changed it, but what was your previous password? Or if you'd rather not say (used for other things etc), how complex was it?
Probably worth asking since you changed it, but what was your previous password? Or if you'd rather not say (used for other things etc), how complex was it?
It's used for a couple other small sites, but it had numbers in it, as well as different capitalized parts
Can someone fill me in on how Rockstar fucked up? Did they leave a big opening or were they broke in to?
Can someone fill me in on how Rockstar fucked up? Did they leave a big opening or were they broke in to?
AFAIK it's literally just someone using an alphanumeric bruteforce engine to prey on Rockstar's lack of secondary authentication or login timeouts.
Can someone fill me in on how Rockstar fucked up? Did they leave a big opening or were they broke in to?
As far as anyone knows it's a combination of inaction, inability to change email (for reasons unknown), inability to have any sort of 2-factor authentication (even through said email), and people just taking advantage of those huge holes in security that have been standard since the mid 2000s. Edit: Ninja'd
I feel this is critically important enough of a question to be asked again on the top of a new page, rather than the very bottom of the previous one where it might be overlooked.
i would say about 40% of the passwords are easy and common but some are just random spam of letters / caps / numbers which have nothing in common with anything. and one password is just "password" :v i think a mix of methods were used to get the passwords. edit: some might of been from the recent mod keyloggers. i think somebody has been selling the accounts stolen via the mods on mpgh. so there is still more accounts compromised which are not known about.
why do so many player characters look like neanderthals?
Character creator sucks and they should have just given us sliders, that's why.
Character creator sucks and they should have just given us sliders, that's why.
You CAN use sliders, but only to refine the result of a combination. I'd argue doing that is mandatory if you want something that looks decent.
I have been in 5 different sessions in the space of ~4 hours today. Every single one had a hacker. Most notably were a dude going aroud in a hue-changing FIB Buffalo, stopping occasionally to spew the armoured car money bags around him (each worth 40k, thanks champ! :v:) and a guy in a Savage in passive mode firing about a million rockets a second. GG Rockstar great cheater system, FiveM public release when?
