sorry for spamming this thread with this problem, but this is extremely annoying [t]http://puu.sh/hRSYv/3ed2a64eff.jpg[/t] how the hell I can fix this? I'm using directx 11, sharp shadows and updated amd video drivers help
Lowering to DirectX 10/10.1 fixed this for me. I'm currently forced to use my old HD6870 rig, so it was definitely caused by my components, or more specifically GPU.
Alternatively use this http://fivem.net/, which by the way now has a working server browser and a self-updating client. The progress these guys make is insane. It's based on SP so it doesn't have the restrictions Online has either (which I'm pretty sure existed only due to the last-gen versions) http://fivem.net/files/fivem.zip
"Activation required. Activation requires an internet connection." Any help with this error? It's right when I try to join any server. I'm browsing the Internet right now. People are saying to sign into social club, but every time I do that it says I'm offline and have to retry connection, which does nothing.
Taken out of context a lot of what happens in gta online doesn't really make sense when you watch it again...
New bullshit invaders in my garage again. If somebody remembers, recently I had SWAT units and naked ass guy in my garage. Today: [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/540775223417081170/C7662375D577B2AA5A8A448B464CACDD7E252821/[/t]
[t]http://i.imgur.com/bj8dx2S.png[/t] This seems wrong
Made this from that huge FAPS session yesterday I just cant remember names from the game.
Fuck pac standard finale. Barely barely did it
Why did I get the boot from the crew?
Anyone else missing having a metal station like LCHC in IV? I know there's self radio as a workaround but aside from that there is like no metal in the game whatsoever... LA has quite large rock, hardcore and metal scenes too
Yeah I noticed this too. There's like 3 hipster stations but no metal station. I know hipsters are a theme in this game but c'mon :v:

Interesting. I'm usually the sort to compulsively customize my character in games that let me, but in GTAO, I haven't really felt much of a need to do so. Just kinda settled on what I had at the start, haven't really changed much. I think it might be because I play in firstperson and don't see much of my own character outside of mirrors, so there's not as much of a compulsion to constantly modify it. Meanwhile nearly everyone with a suit or with a really "random" getup who I've asked say they play in third. They probably get bored of looking at the same thing all game so they keep trying to make it look interesting.
So I've received a message stating that someone other than me is sending and accepting invites. Other Comms as well as Lts, DO NOT ACCEPT REQUESTS FOR INVITES. Send them to me to be added. Same goes for adding non-FPers. Don't do it. If this continues we'll have to re-arrange some power order. This is the whole reason we did the purge.
-just overreacting-
The way they've handled GTA V is completely fine. Just don't go online with mods, it's not hard.
The way they've handled GTA V is completely fine. Just don't go online with mods, it's not hard.
Yes P2P is totally acceptable. I'm probably overreacting in the long run but I still see some pretty bad mistakes R* has made with choices in development.
I just want to take a tally of the people in the thread, about their thoughts on R* games. Judging by: 1. the lack of quality in the story(objectively IV was better hands down from a story progression standpoint despite GTAV's over $250 million dollar budget). 2. the frustrating annoyances like how the wanted system works and how the game seems to want you to have no fun (for instance, the jet that spawns to take you down pretty much has aimbot and will use it's primary cannon to instantly disable the jet you stole.) 3. GTA:O and it's issues with P2P and how they've dealt with hacking. Also how the heists are padded out to take longer so that you won't get money quickly, and how the enemies are bullet sponges. 4. the way Rockstar communicates with the community(or rather lack of communication, personally, meaning my opinion leading me to believe that R* feels like they're way is smarter/better for the game (when it has only really lead to frustration on players' ends)) 5. And probably more problems that I can't list off the top of my head, feel free to post them.
1) You can't used a word like "objectively" for an opinion. And even so money doesn't buy a good story. You think 250 million went to story and not the amazing world they created? I way prefer GTAV's story. A love letter to the different styles of crime film. Had more heart and soul and character. 2) Wanted system is a bit poo but committing a crime and then nothing happening is a bit.. well pointless? I mean what would be the joy in that? Shooting an NPC and then what? Can't say I've had the jet problem either tbh. 3) If you're playing just for money I think you're going in with the wrong intentions. I play any game for fun and that's why I play GTA with my friends. For fun. The money is a bonus. I wouldn't say it's "padding" either. In a lot of heists I enjoy the setups way more than the finale. 4) My friend emailed Rockstar yesterday to say his cars vanished from his game. Rockstar replied 10 minutes later. 10 minutes after that he had been refunded 5 million in GTA dollars. What's the problem with Rockstar and the community? 5) The only problem I've had with this whole game is shitty connection. It takes ages to find a game with a decent amount of people who don't leave. Then everybody craps out from a connection issue. Then it takes ages to get your friends back in a session together. Then you can't find a game with any people again or you keep finding deathmatches called "100000000 RP AND 100000000 $$$". The matchmaking in this game is dreadful. But the game itself is fun.
Yes P2P is totally acceptable. I'm probably overreacting in the long run but I still see some pretty bad mistakes R* has made with choices in development.
Of course there's mistakes but in the end it's not as horrible of an abomination as GTA IV PC was. I would totally agree with you if you were talking about GTA IV. The P2P connection is fine, if you see hackers, they're going to be banned the next day most likely. They've been doing a good job cracking down on them recently. Then again it doesn't bother me too much because I mostly play in friends only lobbies or play with crews. People are assholes online as much as they are in games like Battlefield, and that's not new. The only thing dumb is shark cards but they are easily ignorable as you can make around a million from heists and missions within a few hours.
I might be wrong here but isn't shark cards kinda the reason we're getting free content and not DLC you have to pay for? if free content means some people buy money instead of doing things naturally, that's alright by me.

This game is basically an MMO, it'd be honestly odd to not have microtransactions and such or ways to make the "grind" go away (shark cards). I fullheartedly believe in Rockstar though. They learned from GTA IV, you can easily tell. Then they also learned how to do PC ports right (Max Payne 3), I'm sure their mistakes will be fixed the the future, if not implement their ideas in new games. They listen to their customers (although sometimes it doesn't feel like it) and try to improve on such.
Also their system is P2P so that solo sessions of GTAO are possible (without running a server on your machine or instancing for just one player on their end). It also allows for the "Join Crew" option to work, since it doesn't have to sniff through every server to find fellow crew members; all it has to do is find crew members that are playing and link you into their game directly. Contrary to popular belief there ARE benefits of P2P.
The way they've handled GTA V is completely fine. I'm not just talking about the in game, the account security, or rather lack there of, is my biggest issue by a huge margin.

Social Club is ass, there's no excuse for it.
That's a problem with Social Club, not GTA V. Social Club is ass.
It's still rockstars issue to fix, im not happy about it in the slightest. It's an unprofessional joke of a system from a company who really should know better. It's like it was an afterthought,

I just witnessed the most fear-inducing words that Shotz has ever said to anyone most likely.

If I could make some minor adjustments, I would, but it's no big deal. Most of the preset girl characters are either hideous, or too cute looking to be a criminal. I think I got it right in between. She looks good, but she's also got the look of a cold blooded assassin. [t]http://prod.hosted.cloud.rockstargames.com/ugc/gta5photo/S-9gT3fSXUiamgyY9yfUZw_0_0.jpg[/t]

I'm usually wearing masks, anyways, so it doesn't make a difference to me.
using that matte pearlescent glitch can make for some whack looking paint and let it be known that driving a voltic is scary shit, it goes from 0 to rly fast rly quick without any sound
