I just finally beat the singleplayer campaign for GTA 5, and i'm left thinking just one thing. How the fuck can anyone think this is one of the best games of all time?
hype remorse and delusion [editline]1st May 2015[/editline] i completed the single player once on 360 and i feel absolutely no need or want to play it again it feels cobbled together, the characters are bland and nothing really flows that well consistently. good writing for individual scenes, but they don't flow at all Bully had crazy good pacing and story. far ahead of V in terms of setting an atmosphere using characters and character interaction. this game relies on visual fidelity and art to build the atmosphere/environment instead story and that dissapointed me
I just finally beat the singleplayer campaign for GTA 5, and i'm left thinking just one thing. How the fuck can anyone think this is one of the best games of all time?
The SP story isn't the sole reason why people think that.
I just finally beat the singleplayer campaign for GTA 5, and i'm left thinking just one thing. How the fuck can anyone think this is one of the best games of all time?
Likely because of the world design, graphics, physics, multiplayer, etc. It's hard to think of another game that has a seemless world this big and this detailed, where you can drive non-stop from one end to the other and see so many cool things. The random encounters in the world in SP were really fun and interesting for me too. As for the story, I completely agree. It was bland and I really didn't find myself engaged in it. Most of it was just go here, shoot these people, firefight ensues, kill everyone, run from cops, repeat. It's all the things that surround the story that I enjoyed
I'm not even bothering with the singleplayer personally. Maybe I'm just jaded, but none of the three feel as human as Niko did, and the story they're trying to build is held back by that.
I agree. I've played the story quite a bit, but I already pretty much hate all the three MCs. Franklin feels probably the most "human" out of the three, but I personally find Trevor unbearable. I really liked IV's plot and Niko was a wonderful MC.
fuck me I really wish I could drop weapons in Online permanently. The weapons wheel is already a bit clunky, at least for me, having a bunch of trash weapons clogging the menu doesn't help anything.
It seems to "remember" you dropped a weapon if you do it in a mission, rather than in freeroam.
It seems to "remember" you dropped a weapon if you do it in a mission, rather than in freeroam.
Are you saying that I can permanently drop weapons if I drop them in a mission?
Do the races that I've won in my Zentorno, and the unlocks that I got, do they apply to the .. Armored Kuruma? Or would I have to do that -all- over again?

He didn't do what he did because he liked it or found it rewarding, he did it because he HAD to. He felt there was no other way to find the answers he sought; this is highly evident in his dealings with [sp]U.L. Paper, which are solely to earn access to the information he's after.[/sp] He feels depressed or empty about a large number of choices he can potentially make, adding far more gravity to selfish actions on behalf of the player, and passing the guilt on to them.
Finally did my All In Order/Loyalty challenges. If any of you need a crew member, hit me up. I'm good at shooting people and flying things.
Are you saying that I can permanently drop weapons if I drop them in a mission?
Yes, though if you walk over the dropped gun again you'll pick it up again so you have to either avoid guns on the ground or keep dropping them.
Do the races that I've won in my Zentorno, and the unlocks that I got, do they apply to the .. Armored Kuruma? Or would I have to do that -all- over again?
they apply to every car.
The use of the word "class" is misleading. The actual race classes are: Land motor, land pedal, air, and sea. Any win with a ground-based motorized vehicle counts for all of them. Think of the whole "supers, compacts, sports classics, etc" nomenclature as an engine class rather than race class.
It seems my single player save is broken. Stuck as Trevor, can't start missions, and it happened to be at the point where you're exiled from Los Santos, so I'm stuck in the middle of the desert.
Actually, the land motor vehicles can and will unlock at different rates. I have a few more wins for motorcycles than overall because I'm good with those. I've also got a few more wins with another category as well. So those will actually unlock everything a little earlier than the others. I'm about four races up on motorcycles, and six up on the other category, which is reflected in their unlock progression.

Jesus, so we're 7 out of 26 parts in the mastermind challenge and it just resets for two of us. No apparent reason why, the rest of us got it but it just went down to 0. We weren't that far in but it's still an hour n a half waste or so.
they apply to every car.
Ooo bby. Thank you.
21 minutes and the main download is finished. How long does the installation process take? Are the patches already included in the Steam download or do I have to download a bunch of extra gigs once it is installed?

Glad I'm not the only one who hates the sp story, its so Saints Row I'm not even kidding, its just thrown together expecting people to like it, gta iv and expansions was much better than this. I think the stupid drug induced scenes were the biggest step away from gta ever. Trevor makes it bearable due to the fact that you get to wreck some shit with him, especially that plane mission that was really great. Same goes for the Rampages.

I think the stupid drug induced scenes were the biggest step away from gta ever.
Yeah but that happens only like, twice? So does that even matter so much? (Also, Saint's Rows missions were still a lot different from GTA V, I don't really see how you think they are alike.) While I agree that Niko was a much more interesting character than the three in GTA V, I personally liked the (variety of the) missions a lot more than I did in GTA IV. They were a lot more fun and I actually just kept on going, which is something I never had in GTA IV. [editline]2nd May 2015[/editline]
Trevor makes it bearable due to the fact that you get to wreck some shit with him, especially that plane mission that was really great. I found him amusing, but after a while his shit gets old.

I always thought that Trevor was a similar experience to being among drunk people. At first it's funny and shit but after a while they just get annoying and you just want them to shut up.
They should just give Michael Hollick whatever he wants and make Niko come back
how am i so bad at flying in this game, i'm doing the flight school level where you have to land the heli on the moving truck and i'm so impossibly bad at this but i want that £250k so bad

You should be playing soon.
So you're bothering with the Online which is the shittier part of the game?
The fact I'm actually having fun with GTAO begs to differ. If the animals and random ped events were in MP, nothing about SP would hold my interest.
