I loved the Forsworn Conspiracy.
I wish Skyrim didn't have the stupid Alduin shit as its main quest. The Civil War and the Thalmor's invasion was a lot more interesting than a shitty boss fight.
I've done the main quest exactly once. I think the dawnguard and dragonborn main quests are far superior.
Really? A soul devouring beast, the First-Born of the god damn Akatosh, wreaking havoc on the world is less interesting than Ulfric Stormcloak's Jarl Angst and stupid elves being stupid elves?
The Witcher 2 had a dragon in it but I didn't give a shit. There was so much political intrigue and social conflict that I completely forgot about it.
Really? A soul devouring beast, the First-Born of the god damn Akatosh, wreaking havoc on the world is less interesting than Ulfric Stormcloak's Jarl Angst and stupid elves being stupid elves?
In theory a political based plot like Daggerfall's or Morrowind's would be way more interesting than "gotta save the world from a god/godlike being, AGAIN" [editline]12th July 2013[/editline] I know Morrowind is a save the world plot too but it's not JUST that.
Farusea Salas in Pelagiad asks me to answer a riddle for five drakes - I think, hah, here's a shitty attempt at campaigning, and lo and behold one of the answers - "what is bought, yet not wanted..." - is "a slave". I decide to humor her, since I'd like to have met a Dunmer in the Twin Lamps. It turns out to be a bit of shilling for the Imperial Cult. I'm sure I was being played right there. A soul devouring beast, the First-Born of the god damn Akatosh, wreaking havoc on the world is less interesting than Ulfric Stormcloak's Jarl Angst and stupid elves being stupid elves?
The Thalmor campaign manifests in more meaningful ways than Alduin's intermittent little dragon holdups - and that's given Skyrim's standard of a living, breathing, and muck-deep world. In general you'd say the same thing about politicking - "bah - who cares about people and their affiliations!". But there's history going backwards, meaningful policy going forwards, and all the while people living, feeling, emoting, and doing with motivation. BethSoft would do well to play with that again and see how deep they manage to get as they did in Morrowind.
Would be hilarious if the hero of Kvatch being all those this was canon. And the theory that he is [sp]sheogorath.[/sp]
How's that a theory? [sp]That was the ending of Shivering Isles[/sp]
And Alice Masoriane's a patronizing little git as well - she dresses herself up in Ashlander gear and offers to tell me anything and everything about "the Dunmer East".
How's that a theory? [sp]That was the ending of Shivering Isles[/sp]
And considering [sp]Sheogorath mentions events from Oblivion and how he inherited the title of Madgod, [/sp] it's pretty much confirmed.

A soul devouring beast, the First-Born of the god damn Akatosh, wreaking havoc on the world is less interesting than Ulfric Stormcloak's Jarl Angst and stupid elves being stupid elves?
Honestly, yes. The game's adversary would have been a lot more interesting if they used one of the daedric princes again, since those were of bethesda's own creation and are way more unique. In fact, I don't even like dragons really, the only reason it never bothered me before was because there was so little stuff of them in the actual games.
I found a neat little animation mod for beast races in Morrowind, thought I'd share - http://morrowind.nexusmods.com/mods/42080/?
Oh good, that was my only reason for not playing an Argonian in Morrowind.

Call the Nexus-wagon.
Hey guys, you still remember that landmass mod Falskaar? Well, it's out now.
- An entirely new land independant of Tamriel, roughly the size of 2-3 Skyrim holds. - 20-30+ hours of gameplay. - 26 quests, including a 9 quest long main story, and 17 side quests!
does anyone know how to fix this stupid error, I've searched everywhere and my copy of skyrim is legit.
I think that maybe you're missing the registry key for install path. Try launching with the regular launcher if you aren't already. If not, throw it in manually. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Skyrim (drop the Wow6432Node bit if you're still on 32-bit Windows for whatever nonsensical reason) new string value, name "Installed Path", value Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim

All the really great ones that provide some landscape diversity are totally divorced from Skyrim's plot/setting.

I could use some good dungeon crawls
speaking of new locations, if I could, I'd remake Myst island for a player home or something. At the very least, being able to go to it would be fun. There's already a myst themed mod for skyrim, but it's kinnda bad.
I'd want to remake Arx Fatalis. Its essentially just one giant dungeon so it seems easy enough.
I just hooked up a fresh Skyrim. The launcher keeps spitting Steam Error 16 when trying to download some of my mods. I can still launch the game just fine, mind you, and I still have LAL so what the hell ever, but I would like to know why I'm getting an error message. Any ideas? [editline]12th July 2013[/editline] According to SPUF via Google, the problem is caused by having more than like 50 mods subscribed. I only have 24, so that can't be it.
Speaking of new lands, what ever happened to the facepunch-initiated project Luftahraan?
Welp, reinstalling Morrowind. Any recommendations on what class and such I should do, skills to level, etc. (Don't really want to do a mage thing, something more along the lines of Medium Armor + Spear)?
apparently this looks fantastic!
Legend of Grimrock dungeon Go GO!
Finished the steel armor set for my TES mod. Helmet is an M&B open soruce placeholder, mind you there's another open source Barbute that would be perfect for an oblivion-style helmet. [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/OO1L8U.jpg[/t] also fur armor and steel claymore in that picture.
http://xlengine.com/towards-the-beta/ DaggerXL Beta testing starting soon!
What is this all these engine screenshots look the same [editline]12th July 2013[/editline]
He addressed that in the second video, saying that really it's up to you if you want an emaciated peasant to be immune to dragonfire, and yet totally vulnerable to the player wielding a rusty butter knife.
Sorry but to be honest that sounds like a shit excuse. Yes, I would like that but I guess thats opinion.
Argh all these great landmass/quest mods. I have great fear my skyrim will explode trying to handle all these big mods :(
Argh all these great landmass/quest mods. I have great fear my skyrim will explode trying to handle all these big mods :(
I've never really seen any good landmass/quest mods and I just finally purchased the DLC. Would you mind linking some good ones?
Just wanna see a general opinion: I bet everyone and their dog is familiar with the usual deal of "Guns in Skyrim plox!" people whine about But what about an elder scrolls game set in 18th century (Napoleonic) tech era? Wouldn't exactly be canon and would be to the rest of the series to what Redguard was, a side game really. Any thoughts? Is it stupid?
