What is this all these engine screenshots look the same
Hmm? There aren't any new screenshots, it's just a post talking about the beta
I've never really seen any good landmass/quest mods and I just finally purchased the DLC. Would you mind linking some good ones?
Get Falskaar asap.
Just wanna see a general opinion: I bet everyone and their dog is familiar with the usual deal of "Guns in Skyrim plox!" people whine about But what about an elder scrolls game set in 18th century (Napoleonic) tech era? Wouldn't exactly be canon and would be to the rest of the series to what Redguard was, a side game really. Any thoughts? Is it stupid?
I'd enjoy this, the idea of firearms existing amongst magic hasn't really been done in many games.
Holy shit I need to finish my mod ASAP so I can just go ahead and play the game with those awesome looking content mods and actually enjoy my time from an RPG systems standpoint while I'm at it
I'd enjoy this, the idea of firearms existing amongst magic hasn't really been done in many games.
Fable II sort of pulled it off imo
Alduin should had been stronger. As in kicking your ass DESPITE Dragonrend if you were not strong enough. And not in the way of just high health, but in the way of using different shouts, buffs, debuffs and all that.

Not necessarily in game form, but it would be interesting to see.
I'd like to see what a modern Tamriel would look like. Not necessarily in game form, but it would be interesting to see.
The Imperial Library hasn't gotten around to properly filing documents from the Memospores, but you might want to find a copy of "The Confession of Boma Kuro, 143" if you want an inkling of the intellectual breadth of a Tamrielic post-Enlightenment - here's how it's prefaced:
“The Confession of Boma Kuro, 143” went from script to final edit, but it was never broadcast for various political reasons. The series has been lauded as the “finest culmination of Hjalti’s nonsense in the Tamriels,” and won the IGSTAST in *E***. Despite harsh criticism from other quarters, “TCI” was otherwise a darling among its audience both at home and in the armchair critiques of the Summerside liberal blogosphere, “full of daring attempts to encapsulate the Septim Empires in an intelligent and titillating serial format”. It was also noteworthy that Emp Zed, the most famous of Imperial Successors of the Second Interregnum was part of the show’s eponymous rebellion. Perhaps even the show creators could not bring themselves to vilify his character or his place in Tamrielic folklore, and so cast him against the Talos Tapestry as a troubled hero. [This missing episode can be found in the Boxed Set of “Trans*Cyrod: Insurgency, the Complete Series” in both the Imperial and certain Aldmeri Markets. Here in Skyrim, its sole resurrection is accomplished only by hazarding such cornerclubs as The Echopage or /c/hrysalis. Avoid Wolf*Deer’s at the time of this publication; that place is run rampant with spec*sec spores from the Thalmor’s “Silicate Syndicate”.
I don't think the issue with the MQ was Alduin's HP. It was a sprint to the boss fight. No pacing to speak of, no build-up to becoming the Durfborn, no subtlety, no time to reflect. And no real discussion of why it was important apart from ~saving the world.~ It didn't really come full circle back to Skyrim and the people living in it apart form nord ruins as a footstool for the quest locations.
If they did a TES in hammerfell it'd be cool to see the addition of flintlock type pistols like the redguard game had.
I did enjoy Sovngarde though
A lovely botanical garden with a picturesque little coffee shop at the end of the scenic trail, yes
I really hated the idea of nahkrin's (or whatever that thing was called) staff from a game design standpoint. I mean they give you a staff which is really fucking powerful and then simply say that you need to throw it away if you want to continue the main quest at its highest. It's just a huge kick in the ass when pretty much all of the artifacts in the game are for you to keep forever, but that one staff is the one thing you are not allowed to keep for the rest of the game.

I've never been interested in games set in that time period, the whole aesthetic irks me.
now how can i find out what mods i had so i can use my old save?
install wrye bash and go on the saves tab, click on your save. it'll display a list of what mods you were using
Damn Falskaar looks nice, impressive work for a modder
Leaving Skyrim open just for the Trading cards. Whats wrong with me.

No one will like it.
Personally, I hate the idea. It goes from being a fantasy RPG to a renaissance/steampunk RPG game with magic. It sounds interesting, but it's not TES. Also, when I first saw the post by crazycombine, I thought "Not this damn argument again!"
A lovely botanical garden with a picturesque little coffee shop at the end of the scenic trail, yes
But the coffee shop had ghosts
It only changes it into a renaissance/steampunk rpg if bethesda are incompetent enough to let that happen. [sp]Which they probably are, unfortunately.[/sp] It's a fantasy universe, the reintroduction of guns could do anything.
please no guns, I fucking love bows and arrows
No guns. But they could add more variety in the ranged weapons. I mean, skyrim had 2, crossbow and bow.. I want ninja stars, throwing spears, throwing daggers/ axes etc, also a sling could be cool. And bow variation like short bow, long bow. siege bow ( like, u cant use it on a horse or run with it, cus its to large)

throwing spears
[t]http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130206021044/elderscrolls/images/7/7c/Riekling_spears.png[/t]

Got the Skyrim Badge oh yeah.
This is the weapon type I want them to bring back the most [t]http://xlengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/DXL_Flail.png[/t] I fucking love flails, and it's a shame that not one TES game since the 90s has officially had them.

I think the redguards should have guns, but they should be permanently locked in a pre -12th century level of technology (fucking shit. The very first guns) . All the other cultures should view them as highly impractical. Furthermore, improvement of gun technology should be feared because it might bring them closer to the dwemer. Anyways. Because we're fucking weapon nuts:
Every metal (steel, ebony, elven) should be useable in every design. It doesn't make sense that every elven sword is ornate but exactly identical to every single other elven sword. Swords/spears from every early culture. Chinese swords, Mediterranean swords, arab swords, Scandinavian swords... Even the designs of bronze age swords which would be inferior to newer swords would be good for the long dead in tombs and dead cities. But certain objects- like roman pilums and shields, shouldn't be in game because the tactics that go with them are semi-broken in a world with magic. Anyways: Spears (Variants such as glaive, tridents or naginata too) Throwing stars. Easy to model, don't need so many animations. You could throw many of them at once. The morag tong have gotta use them! Crossbows. Nets blow pipes and throwing darts. For the alchemy nutjobs. javalin. Throwing spears is fucking manly A difference between swords. Kendo is completely different to fencing for example. Odd dwemer weapons. Like arm mounted dart launchers or retractable wrist swords.
I think each race could possibly have its own... I don't want to say signiture weapon.. But perhaps a more culture tied weapon. Bretons: flails Dunmer: throwing star/ sickle and chain nords/orcs: zweihanders (or greatswords bigger than claymores) Altmer: Bladed fans Redguards: early guns. Maybe rapiers/more modern swords Argonians: probably some unique poisons. They probably use nets more than other cultures too. bosmer: Knives in shoes or something cunning. Khajiit... some variation on bows or swords. Perhaps a samurai bow if not a Mongol one. And from this long post i now believe that i should stay away from anything bladed for at least a month.
I would love to have a version of the heavy dawnguard helm with horns that curve down like the ancient nord helmet. Does anybody know of any good closed-face horned helmet mods for skyrim?
