Been a good 4 months since I last played Skyrim, thinking of starting it up again. Should I? :v:
There's the DLC and two new big DLC-sized content mods recently released so I'd say nows a good time
Also! Finished my block perk tree, got a bunch of debugging to do though. I.E. I have a perk where if you power bash during an enemy's power attack you knock them off their feet (made easier with quick reflexes, which is slightly nerfed). But depending on the angle you bash, this ends up occasionally launching them off their feet into the sky team-rocket style :v:
It's the most hilarious thing ever. I'm tempted to keep it in as a very small chance as a kind of easter egg.
That skyrimprefs method worked for sound, thanks.
Also does anybody know what Bethesda's problem with edge detection is? Arena had no slopes so it didn't matter, but Daggerfall had slopes but no detection so you could walk up anything that wasn't above 90 degrees, and morrowind, oblivion, and skyrim all have this problem where as soon as you hit a certain slope angle you just stop moving and get stuck, then you can stand on that ridiculously slanted edge that no human could possibly stand on and get slowly pushed off, and as such you can climb the weirdest of places with some jumping and a lot of frustration.
I don't really get it, it's like they've been stumped from just this stuff for almost 20 years.
Yeah, I've hated this since always in the gamebryo engine. Even M&B does it better with being able to walk up super steep hills just really really slowly.
he's basically right though, by the time something's in beta any major bugs probably won't get fixed by the time the game ships
He is no where near right, and you are very far from how it works during beta.
My mage playthrough in Morrowind so far: clobbering people to death with a bound mace while wearing a classy robe. Conjuration is so good I find myself ignoring Destruction almost completely :v:
Yeah the bound weapons are crazy OP in morrowind
Can just create a spell that gives you all the bound armor and a bound mace for 30 seconds and you can thoroughly destroy anything.
You're joking, right?
I dont know why anyone would choose the stormcloaks, racist/speciesist(this is a word now) bastards :v:
...one path I'm sure as hell not wandering down right now.

Anyway - in the absence of actual fidelity, to work overtime on overtly articulating, distinguishing, and suggesting time and place (with a little bit of help from MGE's fog and weather modding, though, I should add), shockingly enough, makes the goddamn experience.
By the way, I was trying to find some nice hood/scarf mods. Unfortunately I only found one and it's a collection of striped modern style knitted scarves which ain't what I had in mind. As for hoods, something that's not actually worn but is against your back, you know?
Can't find shit to don on me shoulders and 'round me neck. As a mage fashion is more important than utility anyway.
Bethesda's writing staff is composed of children
I actually like dawnguard a lot more then I thought I would. I especially like retrieving Auriel's Bow, and how you actually have to navigate some of the places yourself instead of relying on following 1 hallway to a quest marker.
The cliffs in the Forgotten Vale were particularly cool, with the falmer bridges connecting things and having a lot of verticality. Kinda wish there was stuff like that out in the actual world.
I wish Bethesda would hurry up and make the next elderscrolls already.
Was so hyped when this first came out, was buzzing when I got it just thinking of everything to explore and do.
Now I've done every single quest and side quest and want more.
I don't think that they should hurry up, look at what happened to Skyrim.
Haha, still, I don't like the thought of it being 2-3 years until the next one.
Just loved the thought of starting the game, getting put into this world full of things to explore and do. I was the same with oblivion.
Suppose gta will suffice.
You should play all of them then. There's plenty of good things about each game, even Arena, as hard as that is to get into.
Any mods that make the Skull of Corruption clone the target like it does in every other game prior? I really hate how it works in vanilla skyrim.
Morrowind Nexus is going super slow for me today and I can barely browse it. Can somebody list me some mods SPECIFICALLY that are pretty much required?
All the nexus is slow on me, and I'm getting 503 errors.
Aren't too many mods worth getting on MW Nexus anyway - most of Abot's mods are on Planet Elder Scrolls, and so are the major levelling tweaks and economy balancers; Julan the Ashlander's never been mirrored; the Morrowind Code Patch's on Modding History or Great House Fliggerty - only TR and MGE's comfortably settled on the Nexus, and SHoTN will no doubt grow on there as well. But I daresay they represent a certain second wave of mods: I'm not entirely sure what fires them, but province mods seem to want to take out MGE for a spin - SHoTN deliberately relies on Animated Grass, for example!
i must have installed this monster mod incorrectly because scamps are showing up as butterflies
You should always play with this mod: http://morrowind.nexusmods.com/mods/42200/?

Are you sure you didn't just download a balancing mod for Oblivion?
oh i figured it out
turns out that a lot of the assets added in my mods are invisible for some reason. probably because i'm missing some required files or something. haven't done this in a while so i have no idea.

So that's why they don't let us kill them by default...
I can't even get through (Bloodmoon spoilers) [sp]Hircine's hunt where you get teleported to his maze because every single werewolf in there can kill you in two hits even at -100 difficulty and with maxed out light armor, marksman, long blade, and wearing full glass armor.[/sp]
Any ideas?

Try jumping onto some of the surrounding rocks on the walls, they shouldn't be able to hit you but you should be able to hit them. After you get the Ring of Hircine it becomes easier because you can just run past them all/jump over them and fuck up their AI.
Righto, got my new CPU and everything working again, woo! :zoid: Unfortunately I've lost all my work on unreleased mods :suicide: anyways, anyone recommend a good mod manager that isn't the nexus one?

you need OP scrolls and OP enchantments
that specific area is also designed to be the hardest in the entire TES III suite of games
Immersive Creatures 6.1 is looking pretty good for the most part.

6 goblin tribes with their own ingame lore, some of the generic lore-based draugr bosses like Red Eagle have unique models, and you can now find the Grahl from Bloodmoon on Solstheim.
There's also stuff like that awful female Dwemer droid but you can disable that via the MCM menu so it's not even a big deal.
So I went into the Vivec Ancestral Tomb.
Armed to the teeth, and I got spooked by some skeleton thing that was at the fucking door.
Yeah, I've hated this since always in the gamebryo engine. Even M&B does it better with being able to walk up super steep hills just really really slowly.
It's fucking annoying when I'm in the middle of a Linebattle in NW and we're trying to make it up a hill fast (one that looks like we should go a reasonable pace) and then there is a slow patch and we all go for a walk there. Can't tell you how many times that has happened to the 8th.
But in TES it would work really well seeing that it's singleplayer and all.
okay, so i have pretty much every skyrim mod in the OP
is there anything else i should get? i like stuff that doesn't really break the lore and shit.
[editline]15th July 2013[/editline]
also i got that dismemberment mod but it doesn't seem to be working that well. haven't managed to cut up anybody so far
There's the DLC and two new big DLC-sized content mods recently released so I'd say nows a good time
Two? I know of Falskaar but what's the other?
