The Elder Scrolls Megathread XV: A Song of Ice and Draugr - Games

Starting a new character in Skyrim after formatting my HDD, fresh install of Skyrim etc. What are some must-have mods?

Replaying MW made me realise there are no consequences whatsoever, in any of the latest three TES game. Everything seems to be based on disposition and people that hate me can be made to love me within a few seconds. For example, a guard in Oblvion tells me to go away because of my high infamy. A simple charm spell will make him love me two seconds later. And when I walk in Vivec (beautiful, but very empty city btw) everyone tells me "quick, I haven't much time outlander". While there is absolutely no one around and I'm the leader of their organization, so they should show more respect. I have to give kudos to Obsidian for New Vegas because FO:NV seems to be the only game of last decade where a faction citizenship is implemented properly.

I have no idea, but this game always runs like shit for me despite it recommending high settings when I reinstall it.

I installed a mod, mod seems to caused CTD after loading of the game, so I disable the mod, and it still crashes, the fuck?

The only solution is to load a save from before you installed the mod.

Is it supposed to be only with the DLC? How the hell does it know the load order then? the other txt files aren't showing anything in any order and are not read only.

I started up Skyrim again after a lengthy hiatus, and I've just gotta ask: has any one else had problems with screen jittering while looking up or down?

You can go into the MCM menu for it and up the chance of dismemberment if you want to see it more often. Also spell effects always happen, so you might want to burn someone dead to make sure it's working.

I got it to work by manually adding all my mods to loadorder.txt fucking hell...

Use a mod loader that isn't NMM.

I was thinking of playing a Witch of some kind. I haven't done any significant playthroughs as a mage yet.

Class/Race/Roleplay?[/QUOTE] If you have the alternative start mod installed, try selecting the one where you are shipwrecked and imagine you were a prisoner (convicted for a crime of your choice) being transported to Solitude. On the way, the ship crashes and you grab the last opportunity of freedom by running (mostly swimming or ice cap jumping) to the mainland. It's a quite atmospheric start to the game and gives you a good first impression of your playthrough.

So I beat Dawnguard but Serana still doesn't have the "I need you to do something" dialogue option that lets you command followers or anything like it. I tried installing UFO + Dawnguard addon but she still doesn't. Is this a bug or does she just not have this feature?

I noticed this with the HD texture pack enabled on my 1GB video card. I'm using the Hi-Res DLC Optimized mod: [url]http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9080/?[/url] I'm using the BSA version, it's linked on that page. It can be a bit daunting to install but I'm using the Hybrid (1024+2048) + Vanilla NormalMaps version. This mod gives most of the high res textures but without the stuttering

You may be able to do it without going into a conversation.

Wow, didn't realize you had to be too far to talk for that to work. Thanks, works well that way. Mod question, anyone know of a mod that adds back the whole "The material of the weapon you are using is ineffective" thing from the older games? I would really like to have that in skyrim.

how do I get into Morrowind? More importantly, how do I make a decent build? I'm thinking of doing something along the lines of Medium Armor + Spear, what main skills do I need for that?
