i figured out the issue skyrim is utterly retarded, so mouse acceleration and vsync made my game turn into a fucking slideshow every time i moved my mouse
I have NEVER in my LIFE had 60 FPS feel more like 16 FPS than when this game has v-sync enabled. I just use frame-limit at 60. There's some tearing, but it's bearable. That's what you get for framecapping to 60 with a 59.9x refreshrate monitor. not to mention variations in framerate from dips.
Light armour is the best. It's cheap, doesn't screw you over with weight like medium armour does (not to mention heavy armour) yet the late game armours are very protective. on the other hand, it's rather easy to get a full set of indoril if you know where to look. However. This doesn't apply in oblivion or skyrim because the two armours become almost exactly the same at a high level ( no weight for either, similar protection, no enchanting difference..)... And so i removed the unnecessary spaces. I hope this makes you happy, kommodore
Jack, what is going on in your brain when you press return a seemly random number of times between each line in every post? [editline]16th July 2013[/editline] on topic: [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/pHeITh.jpg[/t]
Can someone recommend a Skyrim mod that makes Magic... better? Less of that "you must wear Archmage's Robes and Morokei to be effective" stuff.
I'm having a blast playing Morrowind again. I'm sure a person who doesn't hold nostalgic feelings towards it would like it a lot less, but really, the way the game treats you at the start is great. It may be just scripted text, but it really makes you feel like a nobody, and when you improve your reputation and npcs start to be nice to you, it feels great.
Jesus Christ I began using Vampire Lord more leisurely in dungeon crawls and all things holy this motherfucker is overpowered as SHIT. Seriously, Steam Centurion. "you can't possibly hope to defeat me!" *vampire lord transformation* "lolk"
I just gave up trying to have challenging and fair combat in skyrim
Can someone recommend a Skyrim mod that makes Magic... better? Less of that "you must wear Archmage's Robes and Morokei to be effective" stuff.
Balanced magic. Be warned, as it ups NPC mages' power levels as well as yours, but the whole thing is generally so much better. If you'd like a bit more variety in casting, get Apocalypse Spell package.
The depressing part is that without VL I have to use every advantage possible to survive a group of bandits. As long as there's a single ranged enemy I gotta be on my fucking toes since projectiles are deadly as shit. Melee is usually oneshot too but NONE OF THAT MATTERS WHILE VL. I mean I modded my game exclusively to be brutally deadly and still it happens that VL destroys everything. It's just depressing. Oh well, at least my mercenary character is still a hard playthrough. Might go werewolf on that one. Are werewolves OP too?

You only get a small health boost, and no armor rating unless you get the perk for 100 armor rating, and even then, you only have 12% damage resistance from that boost. Lastly, you WILL die if you get hit by a bandit outlaw's or higher arrows. Honestly, just be werewolf if you are lower leveled.
Starting a new character in Skyrim after formatting my HDD, fresh install of Skyrim etc. What are some must-have mods?
Definitely get the unofficial patches. Also Stones of Barenziah Markers, Deadly Dragons, SkyUI, SMIM, Ruins Clutter, the aMidianBorn set, Wet and Cold, Enhanced Blood Textures, Immersive Weapons, Acquisitive Soul Gems, Apocalypse Spell Package, Dragon Knowledge Spell, and the Paarthurnax Dilemma.
I wouldn't go for immersive weapons. I actually found a lot to be very... unimmersive v:v:v
Found another wanna-be mage. [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/595883498819143498/A890AC5D005928CCE486C738B04BC1EB4491FBDE/[/t] [t]http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/595883498819138744/9CD9794C29FA8630AB6F77AE8340D86685A71D6F/[/t] There's a reason there's a college for wizards.
I have to wonder, how did he learn the spell from that book without destroying it?
Magic. Seriously though, does reading a spell book destroy it in TES lore, or is that strictly a gameplay thing? Because if it is a real thing, that seems highly inefficient.
It's just a gameplay thing. Probably so you can't resell them afterwards and so they don't cunt up your inventory. Also so you don't have to comb through them to sort out spells you already know.
Night lighting test. [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/TESV_2013-07-16_23-20-49-08.png[/t] Yay, or nay?
Can't see shit.
Absolutely nothing on fullscreen?

Are you testing a particular mod or something of your own. The specular off the house is night from the moon light. Could be darker perhaps in my opinion. I'm on a calibrated IPS screen and it looks probably as bright as a night should be at most.
It's for the next update of Realistic Lighting's weathers.
I dunno if anyone here recalls, but I'm the guy who has that hugeass journal of my Skyrim character's actions. Well, I decided to stretch my creative legs a bit, and try my hand at converting it into a more traditional story than a diary format. There's not a whole lot of point, considering basically everyone's played through Skyrim at least once, but I'm doing it for myself. Regardless, I just got done writing the first action sequence; involving taking on a bandit encampment. You can find it here. It mightn't be awesome, and I feel like I got at bit "edgy" toward the end, but I couldn't think of another way to do what I wanted to do. Feel free to tear me a new asshole regarding it. I've always felt like I've a weakness when it comes to pacing, for example.
Anyone have issues getting decent reflections in the game. Like I get "reflections" like the water looks relective, but it doesn't look like it's reflecting what it should. Trees don't show up, buildings don't show up, sometimes mountains don't show up in the reflections. It's the last thing I'm trying to solve for this next skyfilm thingy.
Skyrim won't reflect fully rendered objects, just the LOD ones.
I'm curious if it's an ENB thing then. Because i've seen many photos in skyrim with what looks like rendered trees and such in rivers. Even if skyrim just renders LOD objects, there is nothing in the water where a tree should be. Even if it weren't reflected, there is simply nothing reflected. Here was a test video i recorded, but you can see the shore is completely unreflected, it's only reflecting the distance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PT76jT8dwpU It's really annoying.
Yeah, it is. Although hopefully ENB can create a hack of sorts that changes water reflections. Also, one reason I don't wanna make the nights bright like Vanilla (Despite the moons) is that the direct lighting doesn't follow the moons (The main thing that irks me), and the moons aren't always there. Which is also why I don't want to make the direct lighting or tint red.
i've spent the last hour trying to get the most cosmetic, inconsequential mod of mine to work belt-fastened quivers omg i want this so bad but it don't fucking work. i've tried both the workshop version and the frostfall version but neither work [editline]16th July 2013[/editline] also skyse and skyui are complaining about my papyrus, probably because i upped the amount of ram to use by like 2 gigs

Some areas only look good if the lighting form the sun/moor is from a specific direction. The funny thing is how developers solve this problem; in MMOs like WoW, for instance, the sun and the moon will both rise from and set in one direction.
I've spent the last hour trying to get the most cosmetic, inconsequential mod of mine to work: belt-fastened quivers Oh my god, I want this so bad, but it doesn't fucking work. It's like you've entered bureaucracy hell, where you need documents from the office you request information from, but in addition to that you need documents form several different offices to make sure the information in the document is correctly validated and is well formulated. Then you need to stamp the documents and get a million tiny documents used to make sure that there are none of the documents contain conflicting information, or else all the documents which conflict will instantly get thrown in a paper shredder and burned. After that you need to make sure they all are in the right order, stamp them one more time for good measure and deliver them. The most likely result is that the person who receive the documents will throw them back at you and say you did something wrong without telling you exactly what. Short said: Bethesda really likes their skeletons and they don't want you to change them at all.
Wow, Dawnguard's Forgotten Vale is actually not that linear. I've found 3 out of 5 water temple thingamajiggers and the rest of the time I spent going ham on Falmer with VL form. I have no idea where to find the last two. As confused and lost as I am, I'm still rather enjoying this. Exploring like this is pretty damn neat. And I have Arvak to ride with so that's not an issue either.
