what idiot at bethesda decided to render all the particle effects with the cpu
for fuck's sake
Eh, not many games use the gpu for particle simulation. Also nothing is rendered on the CPU.
it'd tax your hardware quite a bit if LOD quality went up
a very good solution without having to do that though is implementing good fog
This can be fixed by modifying that cell load property in the ini file right? So trees and shit would render farther away.

I'm gonna try this when I get home and see how it goes.

Care to post your mod list?

That thing describes changing the uGrid settings, which makes your game highly unstable and may make it crash a lot.
Hey, I remember someone here was making a mod that made the combat more akin to dark souls than anything else, with like proper blocking, fast stamina regen, etc. It came with a perk over haul too, was that released yet?
-snip-
sorry wrong thread!

In my experience setting it at 5 or 7 doesn't give me any problems, though there can be a significant FPS hit depending on how high you set it.
The air in Skyrim is so clear! One can see forever.
BULLSHIT
There's more fog here than there was in Morrowind.

I have it set at 9 and I haven't crashed yet.

DUEL - Combat Realism, ACE - Combat Skills & Ultimate Combat.

Your computer will catch on fire, a portal to Oblivion will open and you'll get raped by Daedric princes forever

That wasn't made by FP
This avatar has 4 colors, is 20 FPS and it's still barely under the file size limit. Damn you Garry.
I'd love to see Chivalry-esque combat in TES.

Exactly how I feel. Chivalry managed to hit right between hardcore melee fighting and basically what skyrim has now. It felt a little arcadey but it was super fun and I felt accomplished when I bested someone because it required effort.
It could also open up some interesting challenges as players wouldn't be as able to just jump into a camp of bandits and start swinging, they'd need help or some other strategies for taking people on one at a time.
i tend to use 10fps when i do animated avatars
but it seems like yours turned out just fine
Darn ya'll goldies and yer abilities to use avatars larger than 60x60 or 4 kb, and have them animated. The only reason why I haven't changed my avatar is 'cause I gotsa 80x79 avatar from before the size cutbacks.

Or running around with a flail eliminating bandits left and right :v:

That's why there's so many people with small avatars?
I never knew.

Yeah, I tried to change my avatar, but then noticed the size limit changed, thus removing any details that my newer avatar would have.
You work with what you have.

Not yet! Started working on light armor. Then I need to finish archery before the combat portion of it will be ready.

Well it is rather busy and that usually jumps the filesize up.
I prefer Dark Messiah's combat more than Chivalry's mostly because I am a massive scrub.
[editline]29th July 2013[/editline]
Also, Skyrim has a severe lack of lutefisk

Dark Messiah had god tier combat though. Magic was great too except no mana regen.
What is the general consensus on aMidianBorn's armor textures? I'm looking to improve the vanilla visuals and it seems pretty good from the shots I've seen.
Dark Messiah's combat was like a natural evolution of Oblivion's at the time. It had fluid combos that were quick, actual hit reactions for NPCs, you could knock people down, and everything connected really well.
Funnily enough, Dark Messiah had killmoves, yet they felt no different from a regular attack, and the animations had no clipping issues.
Skyrim killmoves are a pain on legendary, as a mage sword swings can take like 1/3 of my health so I don't have to be very low to get screwed over
It would be ok if they happened when the attack connected, but it happens at the start of the swing so it's undodgeable

Next best solution is to remove unused scripts from your save game.
http://www.darkcreations.org/forums/topic/3752-skse-cleans-invalid-scripts-from-old-mods/
You have to keep playing with it enabled, but over time it'll remove any scripts from uninstalled mods that get called during gameplay, which'll reduce save bloat, and should remove the need to start a new game from scratch without the mod installed.
[editline]30th July 2013[/editline]
don't bother with that 'remove all embedded scripts from your save' mod on nexus, it'll remove ALL scripts from mods and will probably force you to start a new game from scratch anyway.

Cool, just created it man, thanks!

With an unarmed stealth character killmoverandom set to 100 is a fucking must, though. Seeing your character suplex and sleeper hold his or her way to the boss and then brutally punching the fuck out of him is just invaluably glorious.
