The Elder Scrolls Megathread XV: A Song of Ice and Draugr

Looks like it was taken down early in July/late June, according to the comments on this patch. Nobody seem to be complaining about any issues and since Bethesda stopped updating Skyrim, I think it still most likely works.
Welp.
Volkihar was destroyed.
"I've tried to persuade Serana to ditch her evil daedra-worshipping ways and quit using magic altogether. I have succeeded in this, she no longer uses magic and has become a mortal human being again. I'll keep an eye on her though, she is a former necromancer after all.
After the Dawnguard finished off Harkon and his devilish plans, I slaughtered that magic-wielding organization of fanatics. I felt slight regret as they had fought worse forms of magic with theirs. Nonetheless, a mage is a mage, no matter how you look at it. Harm will be done.
As I was exploring the courtyard of an ancient nord crypt complex known as Labyrinthian, I discovered a wooden mask. By donning it I was taken to a faraway location. There was a locked door and what seemed like an altar for masks similar to the wooden one. I took it to the library of Winterhold's College and looked up all information I could about old Nord Masks on the already cold and rotting corpse of the librarian mage scum. I found out that it was, in fact, a mask used by dragon priests of old, apparently Nords that wielded strong magics and worshipped dragons while they still roamed Tamriel. I am interested in that strange altar and what will become of it.
I have begun tracking down these dragon priests. I don't care how many draugr I must cut my way through. No spell or sword can stop me, neither will a priest's staff or a dragon's fang. If I discover more magic by fixing up the alter, then it is up to me to destroy it.
I was also ambushed by yet another assassin from the Dark Brotherhood. I am growing weary of their pathetic attempts to take my life. Perhaps it would be time to bring them into the light and slaughter their little order. Nothing is going to stop me."
I miss stealing things. In skyrim all the items of a shopkeeper are in some invisible chest out of the map. In morrowind you can steal EVERYTHING the shopkeeper has. They'd leave quality items out for you with the words "steal me" practically written on them.
Though there's also the fact that half the npcs in morrowind stay perfectly still and will always watch the best stuff 24/7

They tried to make it a bit tougher by making shopkeepers and house owners follow you if you went out of their sight to make sure you didn't change anything. They're not fast enough though and with an invis spell or potion it doesn't matter, but it was a nice idea in comparison to the utterly unbelievable NPCs Morrowind had.
I've spent most of my day filtering out mods and installing new ones so I can start playing Skyrim again after a long break. After updating, organizing and checking all the mods NMM said I had installed, I noticed that some of my mods weren't showing up and wondered what the "switch views"-button did.
The result was me getting extremely bitter when I realized that there were several installed mods which simply didn't show up in the categorized NMM menu and that trying to get them over was buggy as heck. So after updating, organizing and checking all of those mods, I've now finally got all the mods I want ready.
All I have to do now (or tomorrow because I've spent almost the entire day on this) is to find an easy way to merge leveled lists and organize my load order.
Merging leveled lists you can do in Wrye Bash, organizing load order you can do with BOSS
I tried installing wyre bash, but it can't detect my mods, so I am forced to reinstall Skyrim in a different folder.
I've never used BOSS, though.

Oh.... Hm... Shit. The weather must have been just starting, I can see it in my savegame, which was a little after the execution.
Did the thread name title change twice?

BOSS is a must if you use mods, really.
Does anyone know what page the long posts about why Titus Mede II is badass is on? I can't find it again.
Realistic Lighting Overhaul Weathers RC2 is up. Bunch of changes, hopefully the main nights aren't too dark for people. Ambient lighting changes, a few fixes, brightness increases for storms during daytime, brightness increases for clear and partly cloudy nights, sunlight intensity increased and balanced with ambient light for daytimes, and a bunch of other things.

thank you much :D
I'd really love to see a mod that allowed for more realistic arrow impact physics when hitting or bouncing off objects, I just dislike the way arrows smack something and sorta plop straight to the ground. I don't think it could be done since arrows probably aren't actually physics objects when in flight but damn I'd endorse the shit out of that. Also maybe a random chance of an arrow being able to pass completely through an enemy rather than stick into.
Do clutter objects float in Skyrim? I had the idea of physically simulated boats.
The Dragonborn DLC is so damn broken for me.
[sp]I'm finnaly at the final battle with Miraak, after having to use console commands to get through other quests. And the battle is glitched, when he goes ethereal after being hit a couple of times, he just goes underground and stays there, while one of the dragons lands and just sits there. Miraak won't take the dragon's soul.[/sp]
Hell yeah, i sold my unusual hat for a copy of Skyrim Legendary!

[sp]They were flying upside down for me and then once absorbed the skeletons came fucking right at me and started to spin like ragdolls on thrusters [/sp]

Do you have the Unofficial patches? those can solve a ton of problems.

I loathe the people that would trade an actual video game for something electronically cosmetic.
I however salute you, congrats.

I do have the patches, but they don't seem to be working.

I still can't wrap my head around a virtual hat being worth more than a few full price video games.
Remember HOUWARs and how they're still like 1 grand worth?
This mod is pretty cool, especially with the bandit patrol.esp. It adds more types of bandits and gives the guards those bandit raids they keep rambling on about.
If you want more encounters in the world this mod is great
I randomly ran across a bandit ghost which I killed and I could steal his armor.

Travelling the western coast of Morrowind on my way to some old Dwemer ruin, on an epic quest to find a rusty piece of pipe. Suddenly, I see a woman dressed in normal clothes standing near a pond. "Weird location for an npc, so far from culture" I though, so I correctly assumed she'd give me a quest of some sort. The lady asked me to find her ring and said it is probably in the pond. Of course, I agreed to help because of my videogame hero syndrome. I got in the water and after a few seconds I found it, and that's when I hear....
"No good deed goes unpunished, outlander."
...and that's when an another woman (this time fully covered in armour and armed with a bow) appears out of thin air and starts attacking me, while the unarmoured one starts spamming spells in my general direction. Now, normally I'd summon some skeleton to take hits for me and bash their faces with a bound mace, but because that on my way I was training my Destruction skill (zapping rats with spells), my magicka was too low. I tried conjuring a mace, but an arrow rudely interrupted me and I was destroyed. Last save - 30 minutes ago. Fuck.
You win this one, Morrowind.

Morrowind taught me to save a LOT and i inherited this behaviour in other games. For example, in a single scenario of Heroes of Might and Magic 3 i saved 113 times. Also, i ate my finger while playing it, but that's another story.

That sounds very interesting depending on how literal you mean that
Speaking of this, my friend once told me he saw a guy (in person) cut his ring finger off for Assassin's Creed cosplay. And the responsibility of disposing of the finger was bestowed upon him.

Since when did Pixar start working on Skyrim's characters?
