I don't think they know how to jump, standing on a double bed is basically god mode against anything without a ranged attack. They will walk off of some ledges though.
As demonstrated by that tree, things don't really slow down like they should from collision. Gonna see if I can fix that by checking how much my position is changing vs how much I expect it to.

So, guys, are there any big mod packs around? I'm tired of redownloading hundreds of mods (had to reinstall everything, all my stuff got deleted) one by one
So, guys, are there any big mod packs around? I'm tired of redownloading hundreds of mods (had to reinstall everything, all my stuff got deleted) one by one
Modpacks have been kind of a taboo thing in the TES community. I think tons of asshats started building some without permission from the authors or giving them credit way back, and considering there's less reason to have modpacks most of the time since the game more easily loads multiple mods compared to something like Minecraft, not a lot of people end up trying to make one anyway.
The only collective modpack I can think of is Immersive weapons, and look how that turned out. Several mod authors simply gave up on their projects because this one guy "promised" to "update" them, whereas all he did was combine several weapons with conflicting artstyles and stuff them all in the same leveledlist to avoid any form of compatibility or choices for the people who download it. If I didn't know better, I would accuse him of leading a monopoly. Luckily, most of the weapons and weapon packs that are included in IW still works, they just won't have new updates, and considering Bethesda isn't updating Skyrim anymore, they will most likely still be working unless you've installed a conflicting mod. So if you want to install immersive weapons, I'd recommend you don't do that and instead pick and choose what you want.
So I've started a new game in Skyrim, on legendary difficulty. Upon leaving Bleak Falls Barrow (in order to get the Golden Claw) I was already at level 10.

[editline]17th August 2013[/editline] Btw Altimor does your waifu happen to be a flame atronach?
Does it take so much time to kill a single mob that you get a fuckton of weapon skill or is it a ton of mobs to fight?
The former, I have like 50 one handed skill despite mostly playing Mage.
Really wanted to like immersive weapons but couldn't. Some weapons are really low quality and it's really immersion breaking. Bland textures, etc. [editline]17th August 2013[/editline] Fucking enormous maul and a sword from berserk manga, what?
It's because hothtrooper didn't make all the weapons and instead made his pack out of weapons from other mods because he "asked for permission" to do it. You know, when a modder asks for permission for something, he usually just asks "I was wondering if you could let me make a SkyRe sptch for this mod?" in the comment section of that mod. Imagine if a comment said "Hello, can I take over this mod and include the weapons in my big-ass modpack with a bunch of other non-optional shit, don't worry, I'll 'update' it and make sure not to give a link to this mod." Hothtrooper is like the kid who says "imagine if there was a *really terrible idea* in this game" and then actually makes it as a mod which a billion people download because good quality is hard to find on the Nexus, unless you really like anime and tits.

I really want to try out the finished product, this looks awesome
how long do you think it'll be until your mod is finished? Can somebody give me a quick guide on how to get the game to look it's best? I downloaded the HD dlc and have the three SMIM's active, the unofficial skyrim patch, and the unofficial skyrim HD patch. What else should I get? [editline]17th August 2013[/editline] Is graphical essentials by DMP a good collection to use? And what about enhanced towns and villages? Weather mods? Lighting? I'm just starting to play skyrim again so I don't know what's up.
I actually had nightmares about those once following an Oblivion binge
I first played oblivion when I was like 11 or something. The vampire dreams fucked me up man.

ENB did the most for me and that's mostly by masking the ugliness.
The former, I have like 50 one handed skill despite mostly playing Mage.
I expected someone who's so focused on summoning flame atronachs would have at least 100 one-handed by now if you know what I mean.
TEV VI Should have banshees that have no sound until they are right next to your ear and then let 'em rip. It can take a while to set up all the mods for it, but the result is well worth it.

Seriously, they need a better system, it's worse than FCOM by miles simply because of how long it takes to get the mods.
I doubt you could beat zombies for creepiness in TES.
Nope. Bonewalkers, Ash Zombies, and Corpus Stalkers would like to have a word with you. Just fucking imagine walking around at night and SOME FUCKING DUDE WITH HIS FACE RIPPED OUT COMES CLAWING AT YOU. I was just a kid, man

I was just a kid, man
imo the way that these older models relied more on textures really adds an uncanny feeling to them. the Corpus Stalker is quite clearly misshapen and missing bits of skin but it's not properly reflected in the actual model, so it looks more like a bizarre and nonsensical lump of gore rather than just a dude with a horrible disease.
Yeah, a long time ago someone in the thread pointed out that MW's anachronistic/shittier textures really left more up to the ~imagination~ I still find it funny that corprus stalkers are wearing cutoff slacks though :v:
Anyone else have the issue that some(though few) animations are really off? The one that I can recall the best would be when you jump up on a dragon and bash its head in, you're almost flying in the air bashing air and the dragon's head is half a meter to the left. I've always had this through several reinstallations of Windows so I can't really figure out what's causing it.
Do we have any information as to how the Thalmor are run? Names of governors or something? I've been looking, but everything seems to be "THEY EVUL AND THAT ALL YOU NEED KNOW"
To be fair the Thalmor were never really a huge part of the story in any of the games. They're part of the lore, but not the story. Maybe in TES:O or even TES:VI they'll have a more prominent presence in the series and be explained in further detail.

It has a zipper and all.
Do we have any information as to how the Thalmor are run? Names of governors or something? I've been looking, but everything seems to be "THEY EVUL AND THAT ALL YOU NEED KNOW"
The Thalmor are literally the stormcloaks of the elven world. Their ideology is that mer are the superior breed and others should be under their domain. The Thalmor is not the name of the government but are actually the answer you are asking. The Thalmor are a house which is currently the head of the other houses and rulers of the Alderi Dominion which was an ancient elven empire that was the equivalent of the Imperial Empire today, but it was started for an entirely different reason than the "modern" Aldmeri Dominion. The Thalmor merely named their ruling party after it for symbolism purposes, because it represents the greatest Mer controlled empire that ever existed. So of course they believing in their race being superior named their movement after the era in time when they were the head of the food chain (and of course now theyre aspiring for it again and very close to it). Specifically on house names and such, you also answered your own questions in that there is next to no information on it, with the in lore explanation being that the Aldmeri dominion had long periods of no outside communication with any species except the wood elves. The outside reality explanation is Beth didn't hire any writers so they decided to aim for half ass mysteriousness. edit- The Aldmeri Dominion in TES: IV is actaully the third Aldmeri Dominion if I remember correctly.
Morrowind without a doubt has the scariest moments and atmosphere in TES. The ash creatures especially, running into those in the darkness is always awful. Fucking crawling around with a torch in the pitch black darkness of Falensarano, when you turn around a corner and slowly see the shape of a Hunger appear right in front of your face. In oblivion it just turns into a hack and slash fest, but in morrowind you are often only faced with the option of running away through the dark with some horrid monster on your tail
So I found a pretty interesting scroll. [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/903256907687660805/F29853E9128DFBFA34B40B50D2A7643916E7F3D6/[/t]
