This is a really sweet mod, and I'm totally digging it. The only problem is that it's such a dramatic overhaul, that it needs about a billion side mods to really "fit." Now I need an armor overhaul that adds warm-weather armors and clothes, and a music replacement, and a monster mod with appropriate creatures, and blah, blah, blah.
Immersive armors, plain emb with just the effects enabled, tropical skyrim reskins and replaces most of the normal creatures (still dont get why wolves are raptors though).
It does half of the work for you and makes the game feel completely different.
Ye, it brings most of the current creatures up to date, though the game feels a bit empty without my Skyrim Monster Mod, and even the retextured armors are still rather heavy for a tropical climate. I'd like something that actually scales them down and removes the fur and whatnot, just to give it more of a "jungle civilization" feel. I tried to find a "Skimpy Armor" mod, thinking that it might be able to accomplish a similar end, but I'd prefer one that doesn't leave all the women looking like they're coming from or going to an anime orgy, which eliminates pretty much every "skimpy armor" mod out there.
I don't want a pornographic Skyrim, I just want a tropical paradise where all the people aren't wearing big fur cloaks and full platemail! Course, I can't complain too much. This is a super impressive mod, and even without the extras it's a blast. Almost feels like I'm playing a completely different game, since I don't even recognize most of the locations anymore. The birds are blowin' me away, too. Weird how big a difference just throwing some birds in the sky can make.
It ruins the feel of Frostfall as well. Considering you're freezing to death on top of High Hrothgar when it's a lush mountain full of vegetation and the sun blazing hot on top of it.
But what is the fun in not being able to see anything? I mean, more power to you if that's what you're looking for, but I prefer being able to see enough at night to be able to continue playing.
Well, it's not like I made torches useless at all. (I need to adjust rain weather because lights aren't properly bright enough.) You will be able to see just fine with torches.
Which is why I'M LOOKING FOR TESTERS. But last time I said that, nobody wanted to jump in. Just send me a PM and I'll send the link for testing with what I have done so far.

Eh, that's not my kind of mod anyway! I'm not interested in the "realizm xtreme survival" mods. If I wanted to monitor hunger, sleep, comfort, and piss meters, I'd play The Sims. I like a more fun and casual experience when I pop in a game like Skyrim.

Perhaps the solution is not to use a mod designed to simulate hypothermia in a tropical landscape
Just sayin'

I'm not using Tropical Skyrim. Just wanted to take a look at it because it is such a grand overhaul.

It gives you an excuse to use the nexus' super mega skimpified armors.
Just some more comparison shots.

It kinda looks like you're walking through outer space.
Inb4 "Too dark!" "Can't See Shit Cap'n"
It's night (about 11:00pm in-game) and there's a storm. You're not supposed to see anything.
You've clearly never been outside or you go outside wearing sunglasses constantly because even at midnight at the top of scotland in the woods where there is absolutely no light pollution its never that dark even when storming.
Also moons reflect light back onto the planet and Nirn has two fucking massive ones.
And to put it again.
CANT SEE SHIT CAPTAIN WE DON'T HAVE YOUR FUCKING SPECIAL EYES, YOUR LIGHTING MODS JUST MAKE EVERYTHING BLACK, ITS NOT AN IMPROVEMENT IF I CANT SEE FUCKING ANYTHING.

Are you serious? Why do you even bother to play the game instead of staring at a black screen?
It should only really be pitch black in dungeons, I also wish dungeons were darker in general anyways.
Im just gonna put this here

Maybe you just have bad examples, but that's not how night looks.

Oh god, what happened to my Oblivion:

A handsome potato.
Is that a beard!?
Is that decent self shadowing? And what a cool HUD. Tell me all your secrets!
Is that a beard!?
I'm not actually sure, maybe it's the potato texture. Here is a gander at the original unfertilized produce:

The self-shadowing is from the latest ENB from Oblivion and the HUD is the default Nehrim one.
Ah right, was there a new version released? Are you using any particular preset with it? The effects are a bit gratuitous but it's far more of a difference than what you can accomplish with OBGE

Is your DoF filter simulating a motorcycle ride home from the optometrist or?

No photomanipulation at all, default ENB with a shoddy DOF to simulate severe eye damage. Also, i fiddled with some of the settings on the in-game ENB editor.

I compressed a 3.5hour streaming session down to 12 minutes to show the effort I put into making a single dungeon room with the creation kit, thought it might be interesting.

Actually, if anyone else can find me a decent picture or video of a thunderstorm, or a snowstorm, or both, where it's bright enough to see without a light source at night, I will brighten those weathers to that level of brightness. This is Realistic Lighting Overhaul, not Fantasy Lighting Overhaul.
The problem is a camera or video can't replicate how eyes see.
If you're replicating how a camera or video camera would show night, then you're probably correct in your configuration. But the eye has much higher sensitivity and likely those torches would light up a bigger area than is shown in the screenshots.
Can't find a way to make the snowflakes darker without darkening the texture...
[editline]Reasons[/editline]
The moons may be massive, but they're a reddish tint. Red light is darker than the blue-white we have from our moon. Include the cloud cover and thickness of clouds during a storm, and almost fuck-all light comes through.
[editline]MoreReasons[/editline]

Here, with the exception of the lights from the truck and passing houses, everything is fucking black.

Same here. Skyrim's lightning is shit, and only light's up things like the grass and LOD objects. Still, can't see shit without a light source.

Fun tidbit, humans actually see better at night with a red light source, as red-tinted light doesn't cause our pupils to contract, meaning that we can have fully dilated pupils, allowing us to soak in all the natural and unnatural light. Traditional, white light, while having a more dramatic effect on whatever is being immediately illuminated, can have a negative effect on your actual nightvision by only allowing your eyes to adjust to the more powerful light source. It's why military flashlights have red lenses.

So, actually, everybody in Skyrim would have pretty darn decent night vision, on account of the big ole' red moons.
I try keeping handheld torch radius down because of the possibility of massive light flickering. Especially if the guard always use one.
As I've stated before: DOES ANYONE WANT TO HELP TEST THIS MOD INSTEAD OF ME GETTING COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT STILL BEING TOO DARK?
It's not like I'm trying to do this on purpose. My screen is apparently too bright compared to everyone else's, so I need TESTERS.
You're asking for feedback, and you're getting it. What, do you only want to hear good feedback? Not much point in that, is there? I can install it and give it a test run if you really want me to, but I'm telling you right now that my biggest gripe with it is going to be how absurdly dark the nights are, and it's a big enough gripe to where I would never download or endorse your file if I came across it on the Nexus.
