A recursive cell rendering function. Due to an unused logging function after the recursive call, the compiler used a CALL rather than a JMP- this caused a new call stack to be created, when rendering too many cells the game would eventually exceed the CPU's stack size limit.
Right. Now could you repeat that in English.
Right. Now could you repeat that in English.
It's difficult to explain without sounding like technobabble. When the processor performs a function call, it creates a "call stack" on which arguments and local variables are stored. This call stack automatically goes poof when the function it was created for ends. If a function calls itself, it will continually create new call stacks until the recursion ends. Only so much memory is allowed to be used for call stacks however, so if it does this too much it'll cause a crash. I fixed crashing when loading a save with a higher uGridsToLoad setting. Will be released shortly.
That is damn awesome. Is it in an esp? Or, what?
I fixed crashing when loading a save with a higher uGridsToLoad setting. Will be released shortly.
How much has it affected performance so far?
You.... can't marry Vex? Everything I've ever worked for is a lie.
How much has it affected performance so far?
It's the same nightmarish framerate devourer as before, just without the CTDs and the inability to lower your uGrids. I suppose those people with overclocked GTX Titans cooled by exotic matter will enjoy the ability to use high uGridsToLoad. I'll have this on the Nexus in a bit.
You.... can't marry Vex? Everything I've ever worked for is a lie.
If a character has a unique voice actor, then they won't be marryable, and probably won't be available as a follower

I fucking love you. [editline]4th September 2013[/editline] Enjoy your title.
What does that do exactly I can't see a difference in the picture unless it doesn't do anything visually in which case im a big dumbo
What does that do exactly I can't see a difference in the picture unless it doesn't do anything visually in which case im a big dumbo
Removes a crash that occurs when the uGrids is too high (13), meaning you can have crazy draw distances for people who are masochists.
Turns out there's another bug w high ugrids, an infinite loop in cell loading code. I hope to fix it tomorrow.
Sounds like a good mod, but don't you need a pretty powerful PC to handle it?
I really want a Gates of Babylon spell/shout now. And I now have terrible ideas for a Fate/Elderscrolls crossover. Great.
I am writing a crossover between the two. I also remember seeing a mod that did add GoB, but I can't seem to find it now. Also, you're welcome. Planting the seeds of crossover are one of my many fortes. Throwing giants off of the College roof is fun. Mind you, so is killing things by using wonky physics. I'll never forget dropping that pot on the roof of the world... ...it then knocked a DB assassin down the mountain when he stepped on it by mistake.
Turns out there's another bug w high ugrids, an infinite loop in cell loading code. Still yet to try your physical movement mod, fucking bandwidth limits stopping me downloading Skyrim.

I'm working on multithreaded cell loading atm.
Already did, read above. You can safely experiment w/ uGrids and keep your saves. I'm working on multithreaded cell loading atm.
It's like instead of coding you jack directly into the game's code ala matrix.
I feel like Altimor has figured out how to project his consciousness into a computer and just gangbangs Skyrim's files until they cry for mercy and submit to his will. I mean his Skyrim.exe is probably a Flame Atronach by now.
I fixed the stack overflow that occurs with high uGridsToLoad. uGridsToLoad 13
Also would it be too much to ask for source, once you feel like you're done with it?
Strange, reinstalled Skyrim, used the same mods, only newer versions and suddenly Skyrim stutters like crazy. Even when I disable the high res textures the VRAM quickly fills up to the max of 1GB.
Has anyone made a mod that adds the Spear of Bitter Mercy to Skyrim? I loved that bloody spear. Mostly because of the quest you did to get it.

neat awwh [editline]4th September 2013[/editline] i got the page to load by not using HTTPS, but then it sent me in an infinite loop of "enter key, agree to agreements, enter key, agree to agreements, etc" A+ [editline]4th September 2013[/editline] BOOM
god damn it I had a really good chance of getting in, how long will it take for them to give me a key?
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1761010 It's something...
If the dialogue was there why the hell didn't they just enable a follower option What a waste of VA budget
The mod basically took lines of dialogue from elsewhere, spliced them up, and built "unique" follower dialogue with them. Quite intensive stuff if you ask me. Still, quite a waste to have 2 quite high-level VA voicing a single character each. Oh well, at least better than the grating unique voice the nord woman that helps you in the final fight of the main quest has. Goddammit that one gets on my nerves. Meanwhile, half the population has the FemaleNord voice (the heavily accented one), yet only Mjoll can be a follower EVEN WITH CONSOLE COMMANDS. Seriously, talking about everywhere and not shutting up was that important? Couldn't they have made commentaries from time to time more widespread, rather than that? And lets not get started on the imposibleness of female follower Argonians or Khajiits, unmarriable Khajiits (at least the Bosmer and male Altmer can be done with the console), or even half the follower pool not being potential stewards, incluiding a fucking housecarl.
god damn it I had a really good chance of getting in, how long will it take for them to give me a key?
Who knows. It said I had a good chance when I signed up as soon as the beta was announced. I haven't seen a thing from them.
