The Elder Scrolls Megathread XV: A Song of Ice and Draugr

So I'm looking through Daggerfall's disassembly and...
.text:0047EC0F mov [ebp+var_10], eax
.text:0047EC12 mov eax, [ebp+var_10]
Good job, Watcom compiler.
I'm really curious about that, I don't have a Daggerfall CD to use it with though. Is it truly native and if so could you send me the FALL.exe from it?
When I did it I used the download straight from Beth's website, so you could try that.
What Windows are you using? I only ever got it to work on XP 32-bit.

Win7 64-bit. Windows XP might have some form of built in DOS emulation. As far as I know Windows XP could never natively run Daggerfall, it requires direct access to system memory (aka "real mode") as opposed to Windows' virtual memory.
EDIT:

Damn it why can't I make file IO work
Holy fucknuggets. The creator of the Better Vampires mod included a .bat file with the mod which will automatically remove all of the loose files in your data folder for you.
It's....beautiful.
And also a hilarious pun
Whatever you do Altimor, don't read the comments on your mods page.
Holy shit.

It still perplexes me how bethesda managed to create such glorious walking animations back in the day
What a hideous creature that is. But he walks like a bad ass (or someone who is really sick)
Skirts make everything better.
Especialy when men wear them because they didn't magically turn into trousers.

Come to think of it, Skyrim really could have used more everything. Especially spears as a two-handed weapon. Swords, axes, and hammers can only go so far when the only thing making them different is the look and the proportional damage-weight-speed relation.

0/10 no Colovian Fur Helm.
Hmm. I think blade, blunt and polearm skills would be the most logical choice for main weapon groups. Daggers and other small weapons can go under hand to hand combat. But i still like the idea that each weapon type has it's own skill... a claymore is different from a gladius.
Like how you'd be better at karate if you were already good at muay thai. But you'd not be a master of karate simply by being a master of muay thai. Simple stuff realy.
i much prefered the blade/blunt devision of weapons over the one handed/two handed devision. A perfect system would be incredibly complicated and probably not doable. A sword is similar to a longsword, a longsword is similar to a bastard sword... but a bastard sword is nothing like a short sword. Polearms and throwing weapons need their own skills.
I hope the combat at least catches up to mount & blade a bit. even simply timing your blocks without a shield would be a big improvement. Mounted enemies would be pretty fun to fight too.
Why do the furries look so wierd in Oblivion?

Everyone looks weird in Oblivion
Nowhere near as bad as the khajiit, but still weird.

I remember there being a mod with mounted enemies, but it was one of those "requires a million patches yet still fucks your game up"-mods if I remember correctly.

I like it when skills act realistically. Like, if a guy who swings maces all his life uses a sword, he's still going to know how to hit hard and efficiently, but he's not going to know how to use the sword's advantages. Unfortunately TES melee combat isn't advanced enough for this.
Somebody has to make a TC of Morrowind starring M'Aiq the Liar as the Nerevarine. I can imagine the resulting chaos.
I have a problem with mods like that since they make the game easier w/o doing anything else
I like to install mods like that sometimes to compensate a bit for other mods I have that make the game hard as fuck.

The color isn't the same, as it's closer to Skyrim's Keening's color scheme, but otherwise it's about the same. It even has the little wrist gear things that nobody knows about.
So, can somebody explain to me the fascination with Argonians? They seem to be everyone's favorite race.
So, can somebody explain to me the fascination with Argonians? They seem to be everyone's favorite race.
Because people love playing something that isn't always human, or human with squished face and long ears.

Fuck if I know, ask in the DMT.

I wonder where the name Argonian came from.

It came from Argonia

The shape just seems too round for a dwemer construct, it looks high elven.
