The Elder Scrolls Megathread XV: A Song of Ice and Draugr

Fucking Arena, man.
I create my character, and I can't figure out how to get to my inventory. I hit all the keys on my keyboards, and give up. I pull out my fists and get the key and open the door, then I am immediately attacked by some dude who kills me in two hits.
I create another character, find out the inventory was on the second page of the stats screen and make a bit farther, kill some goblins and a rat. I try to rest, but there are enemies nearby. That enemy was a rat who occupied the same space as me so I couldn't move. Freaking out I swing my sword wildly until I can move again. Then I was killed by the same guy who killed me the first time.
Also I know about the different species of Khajiit, but it still bugs me how they are identical to Wood Elves in Arena.
I love the Khajiit personally. Especially ones like Inigo, just very clever and friendly. Though I almost always pick Imperial because I love to hoard gold.
Does anyone know of any mods that remove enemy killmoves because it's the biggest fucking bullshit on the planet.
So, can somebody explain to me the fascination with Argonians? They seem to be everyone's favorite race.
They're less like traditional fantasy races, I think. There's argonians and there's kobolds and as far as I know that's it for lizard people. I like them both because of the way they play (water breathing is more useful than most people make it out to be) and they fit my favorite style of character. Nobody expects a thieving lizard man to be the hero.
I like it when skills act realistically. Like, if a guy who swings maces all his life uses a sword, he's still going to know how to hit hard and efficiently, but he's not going to know how to use the sword's advantages. Unfortunately TES melee combat isn't advanced enough for this.
Well see thats how I thought the skyrim skill+perk system would work in the end
You'd be good at all 1H weapons with a high skill in it but only expertise in the stuff you perked into
Then they just made it so each weapon had only one perk lol
And that was the entire driving force to starting my mod haha

My mod does this :D
Though you'd have to start playing with my mod which changes stuff you might not care to change

Lizardmen from Warhmmer, Iskar from Everquest, Lizardfolk, Suarial and Troglodytes, from D&D, Bangaa from Final Fantasy, Lizalfos from Zelda, Zaurask from Dungeon Siege...
I dunno, humanoid lizards is hardly nontraditional. You can find them damn near everywhere. I'd go as far to say they're a fantasy cliche.
So, can somebody explain to me the fascination with Argonians? They seem to be everyone's favorite race.
I dislike argonians in everything except morrowind
The morrowind argonians are awesome because they run fast, can swim in the ocean indefinitely, have great spear skill, and they actually function as an in depth roleplay option because of the whole slavery issue in morrowind. The irony of being argonian neravarine is delicious
Plus the whole bestial look is really cool
I never really liked argonians or khajiits that much, but I'm not really a fan of any cross between humans and animals.
I really like Argonians, but I've alway had a thing for humanoid lizards.
...Not that kind of thing you dirty birdies.
I love Argonians because I love reptiles. I love reptiles because I love Jurassic Park. So naturally I want to play as one.
Every time I roll a different race I always go back to an Argonian.
breton masterrace

Find me someone who doesn't (besides, presumably, yourself since you phrased it so). I installed that along with a shitload of other Morrowind-themed mods. It helps make them (more) physically unique as opposed to people with scales and tails.
breton masterrace
Breton ceased to be the master race in skyrim though. They got pretty generic, the magic resistance was dropped to a piddly 25% and they don't have a magicka bonus.
[editline]11th September 2013[/editline]
Now it's altmer master race if you want to make an OP wizard

Losing 50% health in the Ratway, some bozo thought it would be a good idea to screw the remaining 50% health remaining, grab me by the hood, and beat my skull to a crunchy pulp, thus ending the game. Do you know how much dignity I had when I could have easily fireballed him to Oblivion and back? None because fireball despite its impressiveness to explosions, it does piddly in damage compared to dual firebolts. And save a butt ton of magicka to boot.

Whoa wait I thought it was 50%. I swear it is. Was that a patch or something because on the Xbox version, I believe it's a 50% resistance.
I wish there was a walrus race like the Tuskarr.
That'd be awesome.
if you like humans or elves ill fuking deck you
beasts 5 life
So does that mean you have this?
No I do not. I don't feel it fits well in the game.
Find me someone who doesn't
I thought of keeping it but the feet always turned into a skin tone different from what I picked so I uninstalled it.
Orcs have been my favorite for a while, it was very hard to like them in Oblivion, sure, but it was hard to like any race in oblivion.
Looking back on it I don't think I've ever made an Orc.
Real men play Orcs. Milkdrinking men, feebly elves and silly slave races ain't got shit against berserk.
Finally managed to create an Oblivion character with 100 in each stat, without using game changing mods, level modifiers or cheats/glitches. Just efficient leveling and reloading to get +5 on each level up, besides generally enjoying the game and questing. You have to invest in Luck early on, from level 5 or so, to max it out. I got two more level ups, which will increase luck to 100.
Was it worth it? No.

You appear to have only 98 luck.

note to self, fake mages use spells
Fuckin' finished the main quest! Well, just wrapped up the Alduin fight.

Writing that final fight was more entertaining than the actual fight. That's almost sad.
I make no promises as to any quality other than its length.
Feel free to point stuff out to me; that's still only the second draft. As I've said before, there are pretty large changes to the MQ, they work as far as I can see, but I may be overlooking something.
I'm fed up with an almost un-modded Skyrim still having Word Wall problems. In the DLC as well.

I like your writing style, so far.

He said he could level up 2 more times to raise luck to 100 did you not read.

Apparently not.
