OpenMW Update Video
What fucking legends. This, this is dedication, and a brighter future for Morrowind. The day this matched the feature set of the commercial Morrowind is the day I can uninstall Oblivion, and maybe even Skyrim.

How in the hell did this happen!?:
My newest Daggerfall save got rolled back to one with my first character, in the starter dungeon, with controls back to default. I had overwritten it with a new character.
[editline]12th September 2013[/editline]
I check the save name in Notepad, and the savename is the newest.
What's a good female NPC to marry that is also a follower but not a housecarl?
Finally managed to create an Oblivion character with 100 in each stat, without using game changing mods, level modifiers or cheats/glitches. Just efficient leveling and reloading to get +5 on each level up, besides generally enjoying the game and questing. You have to invest in Luck early on, from level 5 or so, to max it out. I got two more level ups, which will increase luck to 100.
Was it worth it? No.

I forgot how ugly Oblivions armor designs are.

Jenassa
So I found a way to glitch into a level 80 locked room where glass armor is stored in Morrowind. Problem is I haven't found how to get back out.
Not Mjoll, I fucking swear she has a line of dialogue for every world editor object you encounter.
If it's different dialogue, I'd consider that to be a good thing, but I doubt Bethesda uses their voice acting budget for those kinds of things.
Looks like OpenMW has oculus rift support :psyduck:

Install this then marry Mjoll. The picture the guy posted with the file isn't part of the mod at all, it's a separate thing (which you might want to consider anyway because Mjoll is...strange-looking).

You have no idea how excited I am for this.
You have no idea how excited I am for this.
Yeah, oculus rift looks cool but I wasn't really interested in it until now.
Morrowind has some pretty incredible environments that would be awesome to experience in full-peripheral 3d
If not incredibly disorienting, however
i really want skywind and skyblivion to be out now
I went into Vivec's temple unprepared. I ran out of magicka, attempted melee, got knocked down and the last thing I saw was his loincloth against my face.
[editline]12th September 2013[/editline]
How many arrows would be required to kill Vivec at level 11 with 5 marksman skill?

Bring 1000 bottles of sujamma, chug them all then hit him with pointed sticks until he dies.
[editline]12th September 2013[/editline]
I once got my strength so high in Morrowind that I hit someone once and both them and my sword instantly died/broke

600 arrows probably
The last time I killed vivec in a straight fight was when I was a level 35 vampire sorcerer with 120-140 points in many attributes
Just clubbed him to death with a daedric warhammer whilst using a variety of spells
If you want to be unfair, you could cast damage attribute spells on him to cripple him, then just have at him with whatever weapons you have. Make sure you have Azuras Star with you and soul trap him since he's got a crazy powerful soul charge.
Keep in mind that if you marry Mjoll then Aerin will also move into your house and will follow Mjoll everywhere until you tell her to follow you.
I believe UESP has tips on how to "dispose" of him without upsetting Mjoll.
Just put a physics prop under his feet and send him to the moon
Is there a way to make looting less tedious in MW? I haven't found a single mod yet that gives a "loot all" shortcut key.
So I found a way to glitch into a level 80 locked room where glass armor is stored in Morrowind. Problem is I haven't found how to get back out.
I always have a mark-and-recall ready for fairly exciting occasions like that - and there goes the need to hardwire flinch-quicksaving through your spinal cord as well.
Serious question time, not trying to start shit here:
Can somebody tell me what the appeal of openMW is?
I really don't see any reason for "hype" and I don't really get why it's seen so highly (or at least I get the impression it is). I don't care about it running natively on Linux since I barely use it and other than that I haven't had too many problems with the original morrowind.exe that I couldn't fix by tinkering with it for a few hours.
As far as I could tell on openmw.org they are only aiming to replace morrowind.exe and then maybe add a few things like better/easier UI management.
The only pros I see are the linux support, the removal of hardcoded limits in the engine but that's about it which isn't a lot to write home about imo
Far more promising environment to push on graphical upgrades onto - MGE pushes the legacy engine to the limits and takes an incredibly steep performance penalty for it; Skywind does so while being required to take on Skyrim's mechanics (and coding tics, I should add.)
It's an unreasonable distance to take possibility, but I'll be damned if I can't plan at the same time for a future where Vvardenfell is joined by both Morrowind and Skyrim in full.

That is all you need. Unless I am mistaken the hardcoded limits are the only thing stopping people from making their perfect version of Morrowind. With real-time combat, better graphics, and maybe even an updated physics engine. Not to mention the increase in people who may never have played Morrowind will have no excuse to try it.
Am I wrong in saying that it is entirely separate from Morrowind commercial?
I DID IT I SALVAGED MY NEW DAGGERFALL CHARACTER

Linux support would be nice, but for me the Morrowind graphics overhaul fixes most issues, like graphics and bugs (code patch is included) while retaining the classic Morrowind feel.

My intention is to be the least fair as humanly possible because I'm on a crap char that's done nothing but raise acrobatics to 100 and kill some cliff racers
Are there any spells that can stun him and allow me to melee him?

The hype is being able to make modifications with source code. Skynet would probably be done right now if I had Skyrim source code.
What are some essential mods for skyrim? I was thinking about downloading that elswyr thing.
Elswyr is definitely not essential. There are only a few essential mods:
- All unofficial patches, including those for DLC if you have 'em
- SkyUI
Those are the only ones you really need. Furthermore I can recommend SMIM, iHUD and you can try out Falskaar if you want new content. Use skyrimgems.com and the STEP guide for an extensive list of the best graphical/roleplaying mods.
