I think Bethesda could have done a better job with those traps. The massive spiked walls won't kill you, but some sort of slow spinning semi-sharp blade causes you to die instantaneously. Honestly surprised nobody has attempted to change their damage to make them more balanced. (Being knocked back into one of those is single handedly the most infuriating thing in existance.)
Seems the spinning blades ignore armor values, wheras the spike traps have damage reduction relative to your armor rating.
But i think Rune traps are rather silly. placing weird exploding drawings down with magic never realy seemed like a tes thing, let alone a destruction skill. It sounds complex whilst destruction magic is pretty much blasting magicka out of your body as it converts into some kind of force. Magic Traps would be more of an enchant/conjuration type thing. Genius train of thought here: Enchant stones, sticks or trinkets. act like they're harmless Gently pass them to the enemy -If the enemy has arived in familiar territory Enchant all the items near the enemy with healing magic beforehand They throw items back at you you've reached sheogorath levels of cruelty.
I'm sorry, but I didn't understand a word of that.
I think he means: Give enemies things that look harmless but are enchanted to blow up and shit and then give them the same items but enchanted to heal so then they start gettin all clever and start throwing them at you because they think it does the boom bams. I don't know how you could give birthday presents to enemies though.
placing items on them via pickpocketing like fallout 1/2
But none of those were made by Bethesda. :v:
But none of those were made by Bethesda. :v:
It'd be easy to add though.
I still have yet to try dropping expensive items in bandits lairs in order to get bandits to kill each other. I keep fucking forgetting!
I'm sorry, but I didn't understand a word of that.
something like. *throws pebble at the enemy* *pebble creates a small, painful and highly destructive explosion upon impact *enemy looks for items to throw at you, you've enchanted most of the things around him beforehand* *enemy throws a large rock at you* *large rock heals you* *enemy is driven insane due to frustration* Alternatively you could enchant his loincloth to burn for 30 points whilst he's not looking. Or make stepping on his carpet summon a daedric seducer. Magic traps would make more sense that way. Like i said... creating runes doesn't feel so destructive.
"I want my games to have advanced AI" Don't forget who we are dealing with here: [t]http://www.edge-online.com/wp-content/uploads/edgeonline/oldfiles/articles/features/todd_howard.jpg[/t]

Expecting high quality from Bethesda in areas other than story/lore is unwise EDIT: Well I guess their skill system is good aside from how it ties into the combat
I guess we can agree that the more we have progressed, the more mediocre Bethesda has gotten at everything. I'll give them the golden star of "you tried" for that.
I got my drink all over my screen.
TES has expansive and in some cases enjoyably batshit insane lore. That's about 100% more lore than the average game.

[editline]14th September 2013[/editline] Blades are dragon hunters now, why? Because Skyrim is about dragons. Draugar are undead because they sided with the dragons and not because of the real world viking lore they used in Morrowind of them being nords who didn't die in battle. Alduin isn't an aspect of Akatosh but his son and doesn't eat any worlds. Falmer who haven't been seen in any fashion for 1000s of years are back... as blind goblins.
Skyrim is a great game because of the Flame Atronach design Fight me
I think Skyrim is a great game, that post was mostly nitpicking. but... I prefer Oblivion's Flame Atronach.

Daggerfall flame atronachs > all other flame atronachs
Daggerfall flame atronachs > all other flame atronachs
Daggerfall has Fire Atronachs. And they're technically golems, not atronachs. Although there are elemental daedra that aren't specifically called atronachs.
BTW Lost Tribe is really fun to play with Tropical Skyrim. Really the only time I'll enable it.

MW flame atronach is terrifying [editline]15th September 2013[/editline]
Is there any TES game where you can't make super potions?
Yeah but there's no game easier to do it in than morrowind. That took like 10 minutes, no prep time they made the mistake of a having a merchant in the game who sells unlimited quantities of fortify intellegence ingredients
And now I learn that there's a second threading deadlock bug in Skyrim. SHIT
Working on Brhuce's final quest. Which is this. And yes, you pilot a giant robot.
Is there any TES game where you can't make super potions?
Skyrim partially for the fact it takes hundreds of potions to level up once from the get-go. This is very wrong compared to enchanting, which you could easily start leveling up by disenchanting anything in your travels. You could max out all the schools of magic before you reach Lv50 alchemy.
MW flame atronach is terrifying
How strong are they I met a Storm Atronach and it just one shotted me (although I'm on the highest difficulty so M'Aiq's grandma can one-shot me)
