The Elder Scrolls Megathread XV: A Song of Ice and Draugr

So recently I discovered the these excellent TF2 mods on the workshop for Skyrim and I couldn't help myself after seeing them. I reinstalled the game so I could go forth on an adventure as the Heavy and the Engineer as his partner.

It's been glorious so far, absolutely hilarious running around decking people with the Heavy's fists. I've even worked on the Engineer follower mod in the creation kit to give it actual voice lines from the Engie himself, so he doesn't just have some random NPC voice actor. After that's done, I'll probably work toward adding in player voice lines (like shouts) for the Heavy.
Looks like they undid the free Dawnguard DLC. Doesn't look like it gets rid of any data files though.
Are there any mods that replace skyrim armors with historically realistic looking ones? Or at least tosses them into the world if they don't do full on replacements.

Phew, now I'm glad I hurried on Skyrim and saved all my files to have Dawnguard on them. Looks like I did it just in the knick of time to.
Thanks for the free DLC Bethesda. My blessings to whoever you're about to fire for this.
Since Skyrim is 70% Dragur fighting, does SkyRe or ACE make combat bearable? Every time I want to reinstall skyrim, I remember Dark Souls and cancel the download.
My mod changes combat, couple pages or so ago posted. Still could use more testers and input on what people don't or do like about it. Block is designed to work a lot like darksouls and as such damage is upped but obviously not everything is like dark souls because that'd be impossible (i.e. telegraphed really reactive animations and parrys n shit).
Its more than just basic combat though I've pretty much changed the perk trees and how the combat skills work (i.e. you swing slow and clumsy at low skill, heavy armor relies on stamina to actually block a lot of damage, etc).

Why would parries be impossible?

This is what archery feels like in the game. It's so inaccurate that I have to shoot point-blank to score the hit.

There's barely any spread if there is any.

You clearly haven't tried shooting twelve feet ahead.
I swear I can't hit a single wolf unless they're gnawing my face off.

Yes I have, quite successfully

Aiming it honestly isnt that hard, the arrows will generally travel slightly above the cursor in vanilla.
If it bothers you that much there is a skyrimpref.ini edit that you can do that fixes it to where they fire straight down the cursor.
Is it too much to ask to get an official Alfiq character? I wanna play as a housecat that can shoot fireballs out of his mouth.
The arrow drop is also quite fucking ridiculous for Skyrim. I mean they're not exactly longbows, yeah, but you'd imagine they'd be strung well enough that the arrow would fly faster and in a better arc than vanilla. I mean jesus h christ it feels like you threw the damn projectile with your bare hands, how is that shit supposed to penetrate any armour?
Having broadhead arrows and regular arrows would be kinda neat too. Broadheads would deal more damage but narrowheaded arrows would pierce armor more efficiently.
Wasn't there a mod that gave Khajiit Sabre cat teeth?
I can't seem to find it anymore.
That framerate.... Also, it's really dark on the ground compared to the sky on the second shot. It's the same for the first shot, but the fog makes it look really good, just not on the next scenes.
Also, use tags instead.
Why would parries be impossible?
Its mostly an animation thing.
I suppose its technically possible but Bethesda's animation system isn't anything near as fluid and dynamic as dark souls
Aren't there animated dodging and dual wield parrying mods already?

How are you going to avoid cliff racers with that DoF?

I'm going to guess his in-game gamma is higher, my Morrowind screenshots are terribly dark as well.

GOD FUCKING DAMN IT
Now literally everyone on Steam has Skyrim DLC except me.
Jesus Christ I hope beating the Dawnguard DLC stops all the random vampire attacks. I walked into Solitude to find a guard to talk to and I was welcomed by 3 vampire masters bulldozing their way through the citizens and innocent passer by's. Naturally I'm nitpicky about named NPCs getting killed in games like this and I saved them, but dear God I don't want to have to baby sit them.

...and me. Now I will never get the chance to get an unencrypted .esp and .bsa file without any sort of protection whatsoever for free.
I guess the only option is to buy it then.

Ah, thank you. I gave up trying to find something like this after sifting through all the bikini and body mods on the nexus.

What foliage mod are you using? All-shadowing tree cover's precisely what I need.

You're not alone. I missed it too.
I got bored of youtube asking me to change my user name to my real name, so I told it I was called "N'wah W Attitude".

Hue.
Holy shit, maybe I didn't miss out on free Dawnguard. I just encountered the Orc that tells you about the Dawnguard order in Markarth. Did Bethesda decide to go ahead and make it free after their fuck-up, or is it just applied to all existing saves? Also, will I still have it if I start a new character?
All you need to have is the plugin files and the resource files in your game folder, activated of course.
I see a couple of files in Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data that say Dawnguard.bsa and Dawnguard.esm. So Dawnguard is there and activated forever?

Yeah. Once it's downloaded, they can't remove it from your machine./
what's with the holier than thou bullshit?
I dunno, maybe I like Bethesda enough that I feel they actually deserve the money for all that DLC?
