Piles of physics objects in cells tend to go apeshit when you enter them. This is why most house modders make items in the cell static.
The game gives you the ability to meticulously place an object at the exact orientation you want it and then leaves it on the floor the next time you enter your house. Thanks, Todd.

That, or I'm also pretty sure the second time you load the cell and move the objects back they stay in place. It has to do with dropping from the inventory or something. That said, home decorating has been a more anxious than rewarding prospect since Oblivion. Physics are cool but up to a certain point I wish you could just make things static.

Is it still empty or are there actaully npcs and quests now?
there's npcs but they don't have clothes or equipment think quests may be semi-functional
so the creation kit is a fucking catastrophe [editline]4th October 2013[/editline] like, i'm amazed mods exist
so the creation kit is a fucking catastrophe [editline]4th October 2013[/editline] like, i'm amazed mods exist
have you tried making dialogue yet because that's the best part I mean... All in-game conversations are quests. You want to make an NPC and have the player able to talk to him? He has to have a quest associated with him. IIRC there's one gigantic fucking quest with every inane conversation in the game in it, just so Bethesda could easily add stupid remarks to NPCs when you did shit. Every single time you enter dialogue with an NPC, you are starting a hidden quest with a million bullshit stages that some poor bastard had to hammer out in this fucking labyrinth of a design interface. I did a single NPC for Luftahraan back when it was still on FP and that alone convinced me to put the CK down and never touch it ever again - it really is impossible to grasp just how horribly designed it is without seeing it for yourself. while I'm on a rant, I might as well add that the way level design works in the CK (plopping down pieces a la old school DnD models) encourages completely fucked architectural design - i.e. pointless esoteric dungeons consisting of a single string of empty rooms going for miles underground. IMO Bethesda would be better off throwing out every scrap of code they've written and actually designing something un-fucked from the ground up. I can only imagine how massively their own tools are holding them back. I mean, shit, this game is such a fucking mess.

"Play our game; find a ladder that you can use. We don't have them," he said. Howard explained the primary reason for not being able to include ladders into environments is due to their engine, saying ladders caused problems for character AI. "One day, we tried to figure out why we wanted ladders so bad because we don't really need them. It just felt like we're game development pussies because we can't do ladders."

in the same way that all melee effects including knockback and torch bashing are categorized as magical effects? yeah, i noticed. this feels like a good time to repost this:
The fun part is that there was a mod for the FO3 engine that actually used really hacky but functional ladders Skyrim in itself is like an example of why you don't build a game on hacky solutions
Okay, so my skyrim decided to be unstable and instacrash after 23 hours with no crashes. So I am thinking that im going to play the game with only MUST HAVE MODS. Can you guys recommend me the mods you cannot play without? I'm thinking i will not have more than 10 mods.
An ENB, that mod that removes the icons on the compass and crafting 300/armoury of tamriel. I use quite a lot more than that, but they're the one's I'd keep if I had to choose.
Better Dialogue Controls Better MessageBox Controls
Wait, I've never heard of those two. What does they do?
The fun part is that there was a mod for the FO3 engine that actually used really hacky but functional ladders Skyrim in itself is like an example of why you don't build a game on hacky solutions
He said the problem was with character AI, not making functional ladders
Lets you switch between menu and dialogue options with WSAD, and select them with E. Also fixes dialogue clicking where you may click on the wrong dialogue option for some reason.
Groovy, I'm gonna get this once I'll update every mod I have, since I haven't touched Skyrim in several months.
I don't understand people who use the graphical presets
Is it still empty or are there actaully npcs and quests now?
It's had npcs since a long time (still nude though) but it doesn't even have half its quests yet and still in Alpha stages, but we hope it will be ready for release by january/february 2014. I find that a bit optimistic but who knows. The main quest is done though and will be able to finish from beginning to end on the next release, quite a few creatures still needs to be done and pretty much all the armor/clothing/weapons are not finished, but we'll get there eventually.
He said the problem was with character AI, not making functional ladders
that is extremely vague
So I was looking through the Skyrim Steam Community Hub when I found this Might be late but whatevs
Is there any way at all to turn on Dynavision's dynamic DOF without installing SKSE? And if not, does Gopher plan to add a method for non-SKSE users to toggle the settings anytime soon? Every time I install SKSE, my game CTDs within ten seconds of attempting to load a save no matter what launcher I use.
Holy shit the bad reading rating should be here. I need them. Emergency content in 3...2...1... [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/595880712212765510/E1EAA75CBB9C60994775A5988936C379AA099EBE/[/t]

So quick question. Does anyone use the mod by the name of "My Home is Your Home?" http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18045/?tab=4&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D18045%26page%3D1%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D690541&pUp=1 Basically, I've started herding my followers into Proudspire Manor in Solitude, and when I tell them that it's their home base, everything is fine and dandy but... ...every time I come back, all my followers are in their underpants. Sure it was funny at first but I've grown tired of it. I don't have any other mods that mess with followers so this is perplexing. Any ideas?

Altimor's obsession with the Flame Atronarch made me curious to try it out on my Mage character. And it is glorious.
Where the hell did my Dragon Priest Masks go? They were in my Dwarven Luggage when I last checked, now I can't seem to find them. I don't want to have to lose Krosis, Otar, Vokun, and Nahkrrin
