So I just tried to exit Blackreach via The Great Lift at Raldbthar
The moment that I entered Skyrim, the game reloaded while playing the elevator sounds, and popped me back into Skyrim.
This continued for a minute until I CRTL ALT DEL'd my way out and closed the game via task manager. I wouldn't even bring up the escape menu.

It is possible. However, we need new animations, and to define the new weapon type, and link them to those animations.

No, you don't know what you're talking about. The Skyrim modding community has plenty of animators who have tried to put them in, it isn't a matter of people being too lazy to make them, they can't get them into the game.
You would have to replace all the animations for whichever specific weapon group you put the spear under. So basically if you had a one handed spear, all one handed swords (or whatever you put it under) would have spear animations.

Yep, exactly, you'd need to add new animation classes, which is a source code job.

Wait, isn't Skyrim4GB a thing? FNV4GB is, and it's based on a Skyrim tool.
I know that's not the same as a native 64 bit binary (which really does need to exist, this "lol 64 bit shouldn't be bothered with" belief Windows devs seem to hold is bullshit), but it's likely an improvement.
Is there a mod to make Riften feel like a shittier, more dangerous place? Like even Bravil felt more hardcore, there was actually a fucking Skooma Den. NEEEEEEEEEED bigger cities in the next game everything feels fake.

Urgh, got a new computer and reactivated my steam.. Skyrim enabled all the mods I disabled (which was like half of them)

Personally I use this: [url]http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31669/?[/url]. It comes with more barrels, roofs and ladders you can climb, skeevers running around, a large slums area outside by the stables. It's a nice change to Riften, makes it feel that much more sinister.

I know skills are pretty much impossible to create, unless you just add in a shitty script to simulate it.

The problem with bigger city mods is that they involve editing navmeshes for NPC heavy places as well as adding a large memeory overhead to the cities. Both of these almost always cause crashes or infinite load times unless things are placed in a way where they aren't actually changing navmeshes and there isn't too much put in. They also completely break or cause crashes for mods that add small stuff to cities like NPCs
It kind of sucks. I hate that ever since Beth decided to switch to a navmesh system for FO3 that its been nothing but incredibly buggy and broken the moment something changes it or alters it. In Oblivion you could mod the fuck out of cities and as long as you didn't get 8FPS you'd still be good (though there are a bunch of different things that can cause crashes). Everything past oblivion? Making any real or serious modifcations to NPC-heavy areas or having two mods that just slightly alter the same area that involves NPC's will completely fuck everything up and crash or bug out the ass.
The best solution would be to split cities up into districts like the imperial city and making minimal edits to the default areas to preserve performance and compatibility, but nobody has bothered to do anything like that.

I wasn't expecting larger city mods per say, just something the made them feel either more alive, or at least make them stand out individually. I like your district idea. I can hardly actually believe the cities variety and scale in Morrowind comparatively.

A more accurate comparison would be you can't reach the remote from your chair because it is on the other side of a mote full of lava.
It wouldn't be impossible to do, just highly improbable.
Just like it would be possible for beth to release the source code, but highly improbable.
Until then (lol) spears will be out of reach unless youre ok with every other weapon in that group not functioning properly.
The more I think of a first-person only Skyrim the more I want it. Just imagine, first person horse riding and possibly disabled fast travel to add to the immersion.
Too bad it would probably take too much work to make it so every thing is first-person. But then again, I know nothing of Skyrim modding in terms of creation, so don't quote me on that.
I prefer playing in TP most of the time. I love RPGs but I don't generally pretend to be the character I made. Also making a character in the first place starts to become a bit moot if you're forced to play FP (unless you have a character screen like daggerfall)
With that said though the third person mechanics for horse riding in skyrim are pure garbage
I tried combat on horses and ended up having my horse slaughtered by a wolf
Implementing an Alone in the Dark style inventory would be cool but it would be hard to do realisticly with Skyrim's impossible carry weight system.

Shadowmere is the only horse worth getting.
And even then, horses are only good for glitching and jumping your way up a rocky mountain. Don't actually use them for travel or combat.
