How are peoples experiences with UFO? I'm a bit wary of installing it.
It's fine. Haven't had any problems out of it, aside from a few random crashes/other weirdness when using the "you could dress better" option to gain manual control over a follower's gear.
How are peoples experiences with UFO? I'm a bit wary of installing it.
It, like SKSE, refused to work whenever I installed it. Even though I took every careful precaution when installing the mod (sending all followers home, using console commands to set follower count to 0, etc.), it still changed nothing from the vanilla options. At least it didn't make me CTD every time I tried loading a save like SKSE does. [editline]5th November 2013[/editline] I'm not saying it will outright fail for everyone, I'm just telling you not to be surprised if it doesn't work on your game for some unfathomable reason like mine.

Yeah, UFO has always worked well with me. Even the 'you could dress better' thing works like a charm. I guess it's hit or miss with certain computers.
I've never had an Issue with SKSE or UFO, you must be really unlucky.
Yeah, I never understood it. Every time I've tried SKSE, I launch my game (using the correct .exe of course) and make it to the title screen. I select continue to resume my most recent save, and it doesn't stay on the loading screen for more than three seconds before the game closes itself out. No errors, no notifications, no nothing. Tried it on different saves with no luck whatsoever. Uninstalling it is an even bigger hassle because I'm a retard and don't back up any of my files before I put something like this in my game. Removing the launchers and all of those .pex files causes certain things in the game to stop working like lines of dialogue and sound effects and what-not, forcing me to go through a Steam validation to download any missing files that I may have accidentally removed. I really wish cool mods like Dynavision and Civil War Overhaul and SkyUI didn't depend on SKSE to function properly.
Starting Oblivion back up again, any mods that are just required. I have A few unofficial patches, and the character overhaul 'cause potatoes. Mainly want even better game play, I'll worry about graphics later.

[editline]5th November 2013[/editline] I'd also recommend Alchemy Advanced if you want to make potions, it's much better then the vanilla system.
Supreme magicka if you want to play a mage.
I'll check it out.
Deadly Reflex used to be the go to combat overhaul but recently I've been using Unnecessary Violence II, duel wielding and kicking are nice additions.
Yeh I just found UV III. I had never heard of it due to deadly reflex but this seems far more extensive. [editline]5th November 2013[/editline]
I'd also recommend Alchemy Advanced if you want to make potions, it's much better then the vanilla system.
This is exactly it. I want an enhanced version of Oblivion essentially.

Much less. They look horrible and i prefer the vanilla faces.
Less. Much less. They look horrible and i prefer the vanilla faces.
good joke, the vanilla faces are utter shite.

I prefer Oblivion's vanilla faces because they mesh with the generally cartoony graphics of the rest of the game. That, and I never felt like they needed improving. All I ever see are the same pictures of one or two NPCs and ones made deliberately by players. They're not as good as Skyrim, but the potato bullshit is completely blow out of proportion.

There are more problems than just that. The smudgy, blotched facial textures, the goofy orcs and beast races and many character design fuckups by the devs, especially on minor characters.
this is the one thing that comes to mind when I think of oblivion faces (yes I know its a custom npc)
[t]http://static1.nexusmods.com/101/mods/101/images/43612-2-1369494935.jpg[/t] Utter shit I say! Shit!
[t]http://static1.nexusmods.com/101/mods/101/images/43612-4-1369494349.jpg[/t] this is a better example.
The problem with oblivions faces is that it's more or less straight out of the box facegen. If you actually downl;aod facegen there's basically no difference between the stanard models and oblivion stuff, it's like they didn't even try. Not to mention thew faces have like 256x256 resolution for some innane reason, whilst the armors and clothing are 512-1024. I mean you'd think for human faces of all things (especially ones that you zoom in on) you'd spare some expense for texture resolution.
Somehow I own Dawnguard but it isn't listed in my steam purchase history? I'm a bit confused
Somehow I own Dawnguard but it isn't listed in my steam purchase history? I'm a bit confused
Steam recently screwed up an update and gave everyone Dawnguard for free. You probably saved the game before they were able to fix it, so now the ESM for Dawnguard is saved into your copy of the game. You basically got free DLC.

Quick-tip: Let your companion lockpick for you. Give them one lockpick, and order them to unlock anything. They'll lose the pick, and the lock, no matter how hard, will be unlocked. Evidence? Proof? I just watched as Lydia opened a master chest with one lockpick.
