To be perfectly honest I don't really see the appeal in all those TES-ported-in-another-engine because at the moment it's perfectly possible to upgrade each of those games without switching the engine. What I'd really like to see is an upgrade for Daggerfall and Arena. Daggerfall already has eye of argovia which quite frankly is all you need to play the game at its full capacity, but Arena is now completely unplayable by modern standards because the control scheme is out of its fucking mind, it doesn't make any sense and the lack of native mouse view makes it insanely hard to play. It's a shame too, because the randomly generated stuff makes for a really fun game.
It's because none of Bethesda's mod tools let you do anything like rewrite shaders.
How did you manage that? I mean. That must be able to run on anything!
From the looks of it, I can't imagine it runs that well. I'm sure it's reasonably faster, but it looks like the only major changes are the texture quality and lack of shadows. So tbh if your computer can't play the game on low, I doubt those changes would offer that much improvement.
Fuck me, I just got gut-punched in the nostalgia. That tomb in the final picture (I'm not going to mention the other towns, though I recognise them) - Isn't that the one where you have to get the skull for the Balmora Mages Guild orc to get her research notes on the whole Nerevarine schtick?
I don't know, I'm in the middle of the faction quests right now. Been playing for something like 30-40 hours so far. So many faction quests! [editline]9th November 2013[/editline]
I just looked through the screenshots on their site and they have put in some serious hardcore work into it. It looks really good. But damn it looks hilarious seeing Oblivion's baby-faced dunmer in Morrowind when we all remember having the gritty smokers-voiced tribal-like Dunmer.
That's why I'm playing with OCO; it's perfectly compatible, which is awesome. All Dunmer look remarkably good, and I think I fell in love with a couple Dunmer females here and there... [editline]9th November 2013[/editline]
To be perfectly honest I don't really see the appeal in all those TES-ported-in-another-engine because at the moment it's perfectly possible to upgrade each of those games without switching the engine.
I mostly play Morroblivion over Morrowind because I hate the Morrowind combat system, and the ragdoll physics and other things are worth it; the visuals are only a minor reason for prefering the Oblivion engine.
So I enter Windhelm, and suddenly a horde of 10 master vampires teleport in and kill me in about 3 seconds. Apparently I have Dawnguard installed now for no reason. Go figure.
Beth must have screwed up a second time or some shit, because I missed the first wave, yet now I have Dawnguard.

I think their might be something horribly wrong with my game. Anyone ever had something similar? Its not gamebreaking or anything but this is getting somewhat unsettling.
You must have UndeadFX installed. That's oddly cool, but you're right about it being really fucking unsettling. It'd make more sense if one side had a necromancer or somesuch helping them out.

I have a feeling the mod thinks that the respawned soldiers are dead and applies the effects on them. At the beginning of those battles everybody looks normal while near the end everybody is a spooky skeleton.

I decided to download a mod that gives me a hood that turns my head invisible and make the best of it: [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/597000291615720675/2DF79876E8590A34D4BC73BA38AC5D625C251732/[/t][t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/597000291616080686/42AB2C780D57603765DAF6881A38B268D5283E2A/[/t][t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/597000291617781949/AB2E4ED39D041FFE06A79D8A4E93A7844A7943CE/[/t] Maybe I should continue with him and do the civil war while the skeleton soldiers are still active.
That looks rad as fuck!

He doesn't have any naked necromancer strippers dancing next to him though [editline]10th November 2013[/editline] stay classy daggerfall
Just did a bashed patch after two years of playing this game. Holy fucking shit. It's as if the game suddenly works as intended again. I shutter to think of how many problems and conflicts just got sorted. Christ man. Even the fucking weather improved.
I've done pretty much everything I can do in Skyrim at the moment. The game really loses a lot of its value when you run out of stuff to do.
I've done pretty much everything I can do in Skyrim at the moment. The game really loses a lot of its value when you run out of stuff to do.
Try Flame Atronachs
I've decided to do what I like to call the Skyrim Survivalist* Challenge. *(probably not the best word but w/e) It's nothing new. The premise is very simple. I start off with very little and try to survive in the wilderness of Skyrim. Relevant Mods: Frostfall Hunterborn Realistic Needs and Diseases Rules: 1. No shouts. This will be done as a regular adventurer/survivalist, not as the Dovahkiin. 2. No contact with cities or villages. Contact with NPCs travelling on the road is fine. 3. No stealing. This includes harvesting crops from farms. 4. No smithing or enchanting. The only exceptions to this rule are improving weapons and armor or creating items needed by mods (e.g. hunting knives for Hunterborn or tents for Frostfall). Alchemy is fine. 5. Followers are allowed, however due to the above rules only a limited number are actually available such as Illia or Golldir. How I'll Play: I'll be playing as a Breton and the only items I'll keep from the escape from Helgen are the rags, one melee weapon, a bow, no more than 20 arrows, and the Sparks spellbook which I'll read. Because I cannot craft my own armor or weapons and the only shop I'll allow is the occasional travelling merchant, my primary means of getting better equipment will be looting them from enemies. The same goes for learning new spells or making potions. I can't buy them from an alchemy shop or court wizard, I'll need to come across spell books in dungeons and remember where alchemy benches in the wild are. Making potions to heal me and cure disease will be essential as well as ensuring my character will have plenty of food to get by. I'll start on Expert, raising the difficulty if needed. I plan to move in a migratory pattern, going clockwise around Skyrim, moving every few months or so. My route will be Falkreath Hold -> The Reach -> Haafingar -> Hjaalmarch -> Whiterun Hold -> The Pale -> Winterhold -> Eastmarch -> The Rift -> and finally Falkreath Hold again. Finally, because there's no real way for me "win" and being able to reload the game would undermine the tension for me, I've promised myself I'll delete the save if my character dies. If anyone has any suggestions for me, wants to know what other mods I might use, or just wants to try this as well feel free to let me know!
Try Flame Atronachs
Hey. I know you probably get thousands of these a day in some form or other, but what happened to Stable Ugridstoload 1.1?
Hey. I know you probably get thousands of these a day in some form or other, but what happened to Stable Ugridstoload 1.1?
Endless procrastination It'll have to return from development hell Soon™ though because I'm working on Skynet again
Hey, anyone have any experience with this mod? Looks neat. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/46628//?
Hey, anyone have any experience with this mod? Looks neat. Other than that it was pretty cool.
Hey, anyone have any experience with this mod? Looks neat. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/46628//?
Looks silly TBH I hate that people seem to think that in summer in cold climates is like summer everywhere else = suddenly warm and hot/sunny everywhere. I wouldn't' mind a summer mod that kept the stuff like the aspen forests looking more lush but still had snowy mountains. I.E. mountains don't lose all their snow in the summer, ESPECIALLY in northern climates: [t]https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/621956_432269816824745_1690186101_o.jpg[/t] This was taken by me in oregon during the hottest summer month at an area between high desert and the cascade mountain range. Still snow on mountains, and oregon isn't exactly a "cold" state (it gets cold for sure though just not year round). A place like skyrim would most definitely still remain very cold/snowy on the mountains year round, and remain cold/icey in the northern areas. Tundra would likely have flowers blooming and comfortable temperatures. In the colder areas you'd still see icebergs and there would be permafrost everywhere instead of loads of snow: This mod instead assumes that summer means that skyrim turns tropical, essentially, except without palm trees. Its a little goofy.

I think the changes to the tundra and stuff are fine, because thats how it would look. I'm talking about areas like the sea of ghosts, where they jsut change it so all the ice and snow and stuff are just rocks and its lush looking everywhere and high hrothgar has no snow I.E. Near the peak of a mountain... sunny and lush? Really? Sea of ghosts area in the pale, which is the kind of area that should have permafrost now turned into a rocky almost-tropical looking zone just because its "summer" I mean yeah you could say "uh technically the mountains in skyrim aren't over 1000ft high" but scale is exaggerated in Skyrim and the elderscrolls games, because it taking 1-2 real-world days to climb to the top of high hrothgar would be boring as hell. Its supposed to represent a mountain just like the Pale and Sea of Ghosts is supposed to represent a far northern glacial zone.
