Oh cool, Steam Fall Sale has both Morrowind and Oblivion for $9.99
I might pick them up later
Haha what, buying the legendary edition is cheaper than buying just the dlc because of the sale.
Fuck now Skyrim is exploding and crashing after the Bethesda logo
What did I do and why do I deserve this
Missing a master file for something?
Missing a master file for something?
I think that might be the problem. I went to install Cloaks of Skyrim and the patch file for Winter Is Coming, and I remember there being something about a possible missing master file. How would I check for a missing master?

You can go into Data Files on the Skyrim Launcher and see if anything is unchecked, or use Mod Organizer or NMM. You may have installed a mod that required a DLC if you don't have them.
What the hell why was there a Cloaks of Skyrim file in my music folder
that might be it
God dammit, I bought Dragonborn last night and now it's on sale.
Fuuuuuuuck its still crashing
I thought it might be RaceMenu but nope
God dammit, I bought Dragonborn last night and now it's on sale.
Thats why i never buy games or DLC when a sale might happen soon.
There must be something I'm missing here. I've deleted everything related to Cloaks of Skyrim and Winter is Coming, but still the game fucking crashes. At this point I don't fucking know anymore. All of my mods are loaded too, so it must be a file that doesn't get picked up by the launcher.
Fuck.

Verify content, you may have a corrupted esm file somewhere

Are esm files master files, or is that the other type I can't remember?
Hey guys, Skyrim and Morrowind are on sale right now, and I've been wanting to get Dawnguard and Dragonborn, and together they're $20. BUT, the Legendary Edition of Skyrim is on sale for ~$20. My question is, if I get that, will I get an extra copy of Hearthfire and Skyrim, since I already own them?
I've also got my eye on Morrowind, since it's my favorite TES game of all time, but I lost my original copy a long time ago, and I've actually been really bummed about that, but I can't get all these things on sale.
[editline]27th November 2013[/editline]
Actually, I don't think I can get both Dawnguard AND Dragonborn. Out of those two, which would be the better to get? Dragonborn intrigues me because they've got some Morrowind settings/creatures/items.

Dawnguard was the first and a lot more mods depend on it than Dragonborn, but Dragonborn is the more expansive and arguably the better of the two. If you liked Morrowind you will almost certainly like Dragonborn. On the flipside, if modding keeps the game alive for you then Dawnguard might be the way to go.

Dawnguard adds more stuff and more mods depend it on than Dragonborn, but Dragonborn feels more interesting, what with the Morrowind vibe.
I'd go for Dragonborn, personally.
Actually, (if this guy is right) buying the legendary edition WILL give me an extra copy of Skyrim (not sure about Hearthfire, since it's DLC). I'm thinking that I'll just trade Skyrim for Morrowind (if anyone's willing to do that), but then I get both! Best case scenario!

Uhm, upon further inspection, I'm not entirely sure if I will get an extra copy. Which really bums me out, since for a second I thought I was going to be able to pull this off.

I didn't even know there would be one.

Whenever I have crashes like this I always read what B.O.S.S. has to say and fix any errors it reports.
can you transfer your NMM data over to MO or do you need to re download and install all mods?
Well, according to a lot of sources, they DON'T give an extra copy of Skyrim if you get the legendary edition :/
There goes my plan of trading the Skyrim copy for Morrowind. Sad day :c
can you transfer your NMM data over to MO or do you need to re download and install all mods?
Mod Organizer has a little application to transfer the NMM data but it states it's in beta and isn't guaranteed to work (the tab where you can use the Ini editor and Configurator). It's worth a try if you're willing.
Looks like it is time for me to do a fresh install and try again. This time with way less mods (basically texture mods. I'd rather have smooth gameplay and fun mods on top than my game looking super pretty). If anyone has specific recommendation of fixes, convenience, or gameplay mods feel free to drop it on me. The only texture mods I might get are ones for armor and weapons, such as the Book of Silence and others.
I didn't even know there would be one.
Pretty sure there's always a winter sale though I don't know if it's usually this early
Has anyone posted these? Lately Skywind has gotten a whole lot of models made for it, if I'm to judge armor is the biggest thing lacking since we got someone making most weapons already. I guess LOD and voice acting also needs work.
can you transfer your NMM data over to MO or do you need to re download and install all mods?
You're better off doing a fresh re-install, the application to transfer NMM mods to MO gave me errors every 5 mods and was basically broken. You might even have to re-download anything you got from the Nexus so that the file will be properly linked to its Nexus webpage.
If you have ASIS, keep that installed under NMM though - MO doesn't install it properly because it has atypical files or something. However, you'll need to run ASIS through MO to make it register all your selected mods (more convenient than hunting through the Skyrim data folders for the ASIS java executable though).
It's a long process, but probably worth it if you aren't burned out of modding by the end of it. MO gives you a lot more control over mods and keeps the Skyrim data folders clean. Only real annoyance is that manually modifying mods installed via MO requires you to essentially create "modules" to install over top of the mod instead of editing the mod's files directly. And the "reinstall mod" feature seems to break a lot, so keep the compressed files your mods come in so you can reinstall/edit them later.
As I'm going to optimistically assume you guys can recall, I did that novelisation of Skyrim; I'm now just getting started on the same thing but for Oblivion.
I was originally going to wait for Skyblivion, but that could takes far too goddamn long.
I want to play ESO, too. :(
What the fuck
Even after I deleted my ENTIRE FUCKING DATA FOLDER Skyrim still crashes.
WHY. WHY THE FUCK.

Have you tried a complete reinstall and played completely vanilla yet?
Have you tried a complete reinstall and played completely vanilla yet?
That's what I'm working on right now.
The game crashes regardless if I use the default launcher or the SKSE launcher. At this point I don't even know anymore.
