Yeah, I validated the game files and redownloaded those.
That's what I'm working on right now.
The game crashes regardless if I use the default launcher or the SKSE launcher. At this point I don't even know anymore.
In my experience, SKSE isn't worth the headache. Yeah, it's required for some really great mods like SkyUI, Civil War Overhaul, and it makes Dynavision actually function, but it's never worked on my copy of Skyrim for some completely unfathomable reason, giving me similar issues to what you've been dealing with. If I were you, I'd delete and download a fresh install of the game and not even bother using SKSE.

I've never had any problem with SKSE, aside from some crashes out of nowhere, but those may have been from another mod or something.
Oh well. If I can't get this to work I might just go back to HL2.

You're a weird outlier, skse is so easy to install, it just works for like everybody here but you.
For some reason, dialogue subtitles don't show up at all for me, even though I enabled them in the settings. Does anyone know how to get them to work?

I haven't gotten it because I heard there were some shady things possible with it. I usually very lightly mod my skyrim though.

Sheogorath has forsaken me.
Though I'm not sure whether I should consider that a good thing or a bad thing in this context.
Alright, I removed every single shred of custom content from my game, and I got to the main menu now! So that's good. I'll just have to slave away tomorrow to get all of my mods back into working order. I'll have to see if any of them is causing instant CTD's after the Bethesda logo.

Delete your skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini files, and have the game re-create them?
After not having played skyrim for most of 2013 I booted it up today.
Started a new character, played for 10 hours and got to level 16 solely from clearing dungeons near whiterun/path to riften, and then using vast stores of money to fund my smithing habits. I stopped doing the main quest right when I was given Lydia, and she is sitting in the spot she spawned in, holding all of my dragon scales/bones because I can't be assed to sell them.
I just got Skyrim for the first time, what mods should I get to make the game the most enjoyable?

Morrowind Overhaul :>

probably hd textures and a bugfix mod.
vanilla first, play with mods later
i'd suggest WATER, Skyrim flora overhaul, Xenius Character Enhancement, crimson tide, aMidianBorn's armor textures, maybe better shaped weapons, Serious HD retexture or similar, all unofficial patches and maybe lush trees and grass.
any or all of these they shouldn't change the gameplay at all.
Did a fresh reinstall with Morrowind to upgrade to the newest Morrowind Overhaul. Now the game locks up when I attempt to launch it and refuses to close unless I restart the computer. Then when I disabled MGE it started asking me to insert a disc despite being a Steam game.
Wat do.
Addendum: So even after three reinstalls of the game from Steam, verifying the integrity of the game cache led to Steam downloading 47 (?!?!?) missing files and suddenly the game can launch again. Yay. But then I try to reapply exeopt and the code patch and it starts crashing again. Boo.
My friend got me Skyrim. It's time.

Welcome to Skyrim my friend, to your left is the party plate from Nexus containing Anime hair mods, waifus, and nudes. To your left, A mod that makes it rain trains.
Enjoy your stay.
Gentlemen, I aim to make my skyrim an insane shell of its former self.
What are some of the most insane and crazy stupid and overall hilarious mods out there? Bear in mind, I have the train rain, sheogorath shout, and a mod that lets you run around as a sweet roll with leggings.

I was just about to ask this. I want some comedy in my game.

Oh don't worry, I modded Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 3, I know what the Nexus entails. Got some good mods on the go now at the moment, will try later and see if they actually run.
Also, heads up to all new players, remember to get the HD Texture pack from Steam fo free.

Macho Dragon Randy Savage, that one shout = fart mod, that other mod where it says "YOU BLEW IT" everytime you lockpick breaks, and maybe Bhruce Hammar: Legacy

Don't forget the one that makes Mudcrabs yell "NOW YOU FUCKED UP!"

This intrigues me and I wish to know more.
So after finally buying the game, I've found that my new favourite post-battle activity is chucking bodies into the nearest river.
You should'a paid fat Ulfric, Stormcloak. But you disrespect the don and you don't pay him yur septims, and 'dis is what'ya get.
why on earth should everyone else drop it just because you can't figure out how to make a shortcut to an .exe file?
Maybe that's because every time I try to install it, I follow every single direction down to the very letter, use the correct .exe to launch my game, I still never get past the loading screen? I'm not a complete retard when it comes to installing mods, and I don't appreciate someone immediately jumping to that conclusion.
SKSE was not meant for everyone.

That mod is pretty great. Though I summed a Swam of Rats while fighting a Draugr and they just stood there.
