Yes t'is me again, so I have a lot of spare time these days next to my job and I've been thinking about creating some custom player homes for Skyrim..
Anyone have experience doing such a thing? And how steep do you think the learning curve is for someone who's a basic to intermediate user of Hammer and Cryengine?
All these player homes with large dungeons and 50+ mannequins aren't really my thing.
Making the maps is easy as piss compared to Hammer or CRYengine. It's literally just drag and drop, and most map pieces fit together like legos. This does mean a bit less flexibility since you mostly use premade pieces and don't really get to make your own brushes like in Hammer, but you can typically get around it by being creative or importing new models to use.
You can get away with a lot without having to write scripts or any complicated shit like that, you can get things like the scripted bookshelves and mannequins by just copying/stealing them from Breezehome or something. Frankly I wouldn't even worry about all that until you have a nice design set up. That's the part that's gonna make the biggest impact on people, fancy scripted doodads and shit like that is just gravy on the turkey.
You can add me on Steam if you want help with specific stuff, I know my way around CK well enough to pretend to know what I'm talking about and somehow still be right most of the time.
Anyone know how much agility Vivec has?
All of the agility
Are there any new interesting mods in the last few months? I was looking to remod skyrim completely to have a playthrough.

CHIM agility

I cast drain agility 100 on him 20 times. He's still hitting me.
EDIT: A few more times did it. Now he's running away like a bitch.
EDIT: No that was just an AI glitch, he turned around and kicked my ass.

It's probably the highest it can go.
The only question that remains is whether 2002 Bethesda used signed or unsigned integers.
Oh this game just gargles dicks. My damage attribute enchantments have no effect on anyone.
Just use damage attribute, drain attribute is a totally useless spell. Also draining/damaging agility to 0 =/= impossible for them to hit. Damage his strength so he can't move, it's a better tactic.
That or be a ~tru nord~ and chug 50 bottles of sujamma and shatter an iron warhammer across his head

I said damage attribute. I googled the formula and I now know it's not impossible for him to hit with 0 agility, but it should be enough to prevent me from getting stunlocked.
I believe I got most of the mods I want besides general fixes. This time everything is running smoothly since I decided to exclude most if not all the usual texture mods/overhauls. I think I'll stick with performance over aesthetics.

Opt for plan 2 then
It's a beautiful sound when you hit somebody so hard your weapon breaks on the first strike

Maybe I'll try that, but replace iron warhammer with daedric dai-katana.

I think you should use an iron warhammer as a giant 'fuck you' to his face.
Does anyone have a link to one of these morrowind mods that replace missing with less damage dealt ?
I just downloaded The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim and I don't know what to do now. Any suggested mods out there?

Did you at least play and finish the game once vanilla ?
Did you at least play and finish the game once vanilla ?
This. The best way to find out what you want is to get in there and play the game. As far as recommended starting mods, I'd just go for graphical and basic mechanical mods like price changes to make hunting n' shit more viable or gaining more than one goddamn berry from picking everything including the leaves from a bush.
But again, you won't know what makes your experience more intuitive until you try vanilla.
Did you at least play and finish the game once vanilla ?
Yes, I've finished the game.

Go there and pick up whatever suits you. Mods are mostly for fixing what is wrong with the base game, so it's really subjective as to what should and shouldn't be installed.
Speaking of something completely different, my install of Morrowind Overhaul is regularly fucking itself over by refusing to launch, displaying a "missing snow_01.filething" error message, which is fixed by reinstalling bloodmoon directly from the disk. It's time consuming and really annoying.
So I'm playing Skyrim with SkyRe, and I'm really liking alot of the changes, but I'm really getting tired of being one-hit-killed by bandits, so is there anything you guys would suggest in ways of balancing it or combat mods? I might remove that part of the mod in particular, but I think that's the part with the rebalanced leveling for enemies, which I don't want to get rid of.

Stop using SkyRe and use mods that don't randomly bump up enemy values until the game is unbeatable.

Woo thanks dude, I'll probally take a look at it this Sunday since my scumbag teammanager at work managed to trick me into working in the weekends as well.. 200% pay though.. but yeah :v
Thanks.
It's infuriating that MO doesn't work on the long run for me. every time I install it, it just stops working after like three weeks of functionality. Files go missing, the game black-screens all the time, the resolution is lost, and I have to just uninstall/reinstall everything all over again which takes fucking forever.
And since I don't keep the necessary files around I also have to redownload MO entirely which takes hours because it's several gygabites heavy and there is no solid mirror for it.
Even if I do manage to make it run using admin mode, launching a new game or loading an old one just ends up in a permanent black screen. I have no idea what triggers this.

I like alot of the ideas that go into the perk trees for it, atleast, so I may decide to keep that part of it atleast.
Okay, I've held off playing Skyrim for the last couple of days while Nexus is having its issues. Today, I decided that I'd just install what I needed manually. I downloaded all kinds of shit, texture packs, Immersive Armours, a load of mods that I knew were good. I probably downloaded 5+ GB.
I started a game and wanted to to tweak my ENB a bit, I wanted to start from scratch on the default ENB so I deleted all of the old stuff. I accidentally selected the Data folder while doing this and deleted everything.
To add insult to fucking injury, I've just found a USB drive that has a back up of my last Skyrim set up which is complete with all the mods I want + my DLC + my old saves and everything. Fuckety fucking fuck.

But that is half the fun!

I think this one is similar, I can't find the original one because I think it was part of an optional download in one of the big overhaul mods

It turns out I'm dumb and clicked drain attribute instead of damage attribute
This time I returned and fukt vivecc up. I also had sound on this time and was incredibly unsettled by the fact that he growls.

Link brings to about:blank
There is a mod on the nexus that makes all attacks connect but it makes the game really easy and really boring because people still have a hard time hitting you and don't attack at the same speed as you (they are much slower) so you wreck everyone and everything in no time.
