the fact it's split halfway down the screen bugs me.
the fact it's split halfway down the screen bugs me.
Oh god I am the true High King of missing details.
Skyrim needs more enemies. You should thumb images.
Skyrim needs more enemies. You should thumb images.
According to what I see in the pic, I think skyrim needs more variation of enemies, not more enemies.
the fact it's split halfway down the screen bugs me.
He has Vsync disabled, looks like tearing from the lack of it, anyway.
He has Vsync disabled, looks like tearing from the lack of it, anyway.
You don't get tearing in screenshots, atleast not proper screenshotting. It must be something else.
I kinda wish skyrim had more room to move around in, it can be super annoying both for conjuration and with followers to be stuck going through tight corridors. The pathing can go a bit nuts and if the narrow corridor is a bit long then the only way you're going back through it is if you kill your followers :v: of course this isn't a problem outside, just in dungeons, but you spend a good deal of the fighting there
So, how would you guys respond if the next Elder Scrolls game was a remake of Morrowind or Oblivion?
I would be happy because im a Skyrim peasant. I never played the older Elder Scrolls games and my first experience was Skyrim and i loved it. I tred playing the older ones but i was so use to the easy UI and menus , it turned me off of the game.
It's best left alone in my opinion. Especially so given that Bethesda doesn't really seem to have the same focus as they did when they made Morrowind. It's one thing to do another Elder Scrolls game, and it's another thing to recapture something that's already been done--quite well I might add. [editline]6th December 2013[/editline] Also Skywind
The most major thing I'd say would be good for Bethesda would be to not make such drastic changes between games. They change the system so much that they don't have the time to perfect it that they would otherwise. The perk system for example was a good idea because it potentially allows much more unique customization than simply being invested more or less in certain stats, but in some of the trees not a lot of thought was put into them and a lot of the perks range from meh to being totally obsolete. Two good examples of this is are the war axe one handed perk (that 12 damage over 3 seconds is amazing when I'm doing 400+ dps) and the conjuration perks (oh boy bonus duration when overcasting and bonus summon time, super useful when the best summons are infinite duration). On top of this it's really weird how destruction magic got nerfed to becoming cripplingly weak in a transition of a single game and the skeleton key became obsolete because of a single lockpicking perk that makes your lockpicks never break Overall a good idea would probably just be to have a dedicated team member in charge of game balance. It's of course not as important as a competitive multiplayer game but they should still be doing way better at it than they are now
because of a single lockpicking perk that makes your lockpicks never break
Wow I didn't know about that What a stupid idea
Wow I didn't know about that What a stupid idea
Pretty much, although to be fair in all the other games you could [sp]keep the skeleton key, whereas in skyrim you need to give it up to progress in the thieves guild[/sp] so they probably assumed it was necessary to make up for it somehow. At least there isn't still an auto win button if you have an unbreakable lock pick :v: EDIT: also slightly off topic but weren't you working on a skyrim multiplayer mod? Is it still in the works or is it on hold/indefinitely on hold?
Still in the works Currently I'm battling the fact that the dummy NPCs move slightly differently from the player, which causes rubberbanding from the server constantly disagreeing on positions
Sounds painful, I imagine the npcs are designed more to be told where to go and do that movement on their own rather than interpolate? Either way I hope it goes well, I tried skyrim online a while back with a friend but his dummy npc in my world was just constantly trying to hit me because I angered it for some reason :v:
The "serve me for eternity" fluff in the Thieves Guild quest is really just painful.

Can someone post a good easy starting build for Morrowind I always end up getting fucked ten minutes in.
Can someone post a good easy starting build for Morrowind I always end up getting fucked ten minutes in.
Altimor's guide to playing Morrowind: Major skills: Long blade, light armor, restoration (gives you a big healing spell for early fights). First off, get acrobatics 100. With good movement you can win melee fights while being pretty severely underequipped. Also bunnyhopping is faster than running with no stamina loss unless you're going up a slope. Go to Ghostgate. Go to the lower level of the tower of dusk, one of the rooms has a full set of glass armor you can steal. Glitch through the ceiling so NPCs don't consider you visible. Alternatively run very fast after alerting everyone. Go to Ald-ruhn. Go to Venim Manor. Kill Bolvyn Venim, take his Daedric Dai-katana, sell his ebony armor to the mudcrab merchant for wicked gold. Steal the filled grand soul gem from the Balmora Mage's Guild. Enchant your Daedric Dai-katana with as much fire damage as it can have. Go to Ald Sotha, kill the bad guys, get another filled grand soul gem. Enchant a ring or something with restore health 7 HP, or as high as it goes while only taking 1 charge point to use. Since there's no limit on enchantment cast rate you can just spam it for more health. It'll have thousands of HP worth of healing before needing a recharge. Congrats you are now overpowered
Woah. Can you post your settings?
I second this.
Does anyone know what Skyrim Online is about and how functional it is?
The Mudcrab Merchant is awesome. I remember my dad showing me how to find him and the advantages of him over other merchants when I was but a wee lad.

I actually really want to reinstall ENB for skyrim now. If only the creator of ENB actually hired a fucking englishman to translate his russian nonsense into some readable english, because his website is a clusterfuck. Which file am I supposed to copy this config into ? I haven't used ENB in a year or so.

Do I just replace everything inside with your own text or is it a specific area ? [editline]7th December 2013[/editline] Just copy-pasting doesn't work, it only makes the game superbright and fucks up the eyes of everyone.
I don't really know to be honest, I never used ENB.. just fucked around with some settings in that file and voilah. Lemme dig up the download, gimme a couple. Fuck I deleted it, I think it was called Cinemascope. Should be on Nexus.
Oh so it's not your own, I thought you made it yourself. I fucking hate how slow the nexus is right now, are they trying to fit their dick in the server ports or something If only modders had the fucking decency to use mirrors but nope, not even
Sorry but yeah, not mine.. and I second that statement.. funny how the Skyrim modding scene seems dependant of only 1 website and 1 server.
Making the maps is easy as piss compared to Hammer or CRYengine. It's literally just drag and drop, and most map pieces fit together like legos. This does mean a bit less flexibility since you mostly use premade pieces and don't really get to make your own brushes like in Hammer, but you can typically get around it by being creative or importing new models to use. You can get away with a lot without having to write scripts or any complicated shit like that, you can get things like the scripted bookshelves and mannequins by just copying/stealing them from Breezehome or something. Frankly I wouldn't even worry about all that until you have a nice design set up. That's the part that's gonna make the biggest impact on people, fancy scripted doodads and shit like that is just gravy on the turkey. You can add me on Steam if you want help with specific stuff, I know my way around CK well enough to pretend to know what I'm talking about and somehow still be right most of the time.
Man as an experienced mapper for cryengine, Cryengine is waaaaaay easier than the CK to map with. The only issue with cryengine, is that its terrain based which means every object you are placing must be an object someone already made in a 3D modeling program. CK is the same way, but CK is nice in that everything is tilesets while Cryengine does't really have tilesets. But the CK sucks because its interface and how it works is extremely 1999 - its a dinosaur aged dev tool. Simple tasks take forever to do, it has almost no flexibility, etc. Cryengine is one of the best dev tools out there simply because everything is WYSIWYG, you edit and test in real-time, it controls like a game would control so the interface is extremely intuitive and efficent, etc.
