Seriously though why are my allies attacking me? :/
Seriously though why are my allies attacking me? :/
Check your bounties. Do you have any mods installed that change the behavior of the imperial legion like civil war overhaul? In civil war overhaul the troops actively recognize your allegiance, so if you accidentally hit an imperial trooper it could've classified you as being a part of the stormcloaks or something.
Did you try the brighter dungeons module?
Don't think I did, I'll check it out later.
I'd like to shamelessly self-promote Realistic Lighting Overhaul. I personally made the weathers and some cell edits.
You're involved with RLO? That's awesome, it's one of my favorite mods.
Ok I got all these nice looking mod stuff, but my issue now is that everything after a say 100m doesn't load up, and the environment looks like crap. Like, there's no grass and other stuff like trees and the distance looks barren. What would remedy this?
Check your bounties.
Had the same thing happen once without a bounty for the province. In fact, the [del]guards[/del] Stormcloaks at the Whiterun gate attacked me once unprovoked, but the ones patrolling the roads outside of it carried on like nothing's going on at the gate. Leaving and coming back would be the best course of action.
Not even remotely lore-friendly, but I do enjoy the Christmas mods this time of year. The one with genuine carolers is really something else. It's sort of weird, once you hit the level 100 point in skyrim and you know that nobody in the game could possibly best you in combat, the game sort of turns into GTA V: Skyrim I've just been casually comitting crimes and effortlessly mowing down guard peons, walking through showers of arrows like they are mere bullets, stealing horses like they are cars, etc. Now I just need Nazeem to call me every 20 minutes and see if I want to go bowling
So I've been experimenting with the bodyslide feature of the body mods. [t]http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/490062041566593210/C6780EA38B14153C68ABAB459B8DCCCBD9159D2B/[/t] I can safely say that yes, It is hilarious.

The Santa hats are a bit goofy, but for what it is it's one of the better produced mods I've seen. The mod is Saturalia for those who want to give it a go.
So I've been experimenting with the bodyslide feature of the body mods
uh it looks like you've been doing some other experimenting as well
uh it looks like you've been doing some other experimenting as well
I have a thing for hilariously impractical armor sets. And Lore friendliness.
You're involved with RLO? [sp]It's kinda stressful when I have to make a mod that most people can install and run without complaining about issues explained just below them. Most nexus users are bullshit[/sp]
Jesus Morrowind is hard. I guess I'm so used to games babying me along that I don't know what the fuck to do and where the fuck to go. I'm going to have a fun time.
Now I'm imagining Christmas things renamed in the Elder Scrolls universe. The Orc who Stole Nordmas
Every Nord down in Nord-Ville like Nordmas alot, But the Orc who lived just north of Nord-Ville did not. The Orc hated Nordmas the whole Nordmas season! Now, Please don't ask why. There wouldn't be a reason. It could be that his armor wasn't screwed together all right. It could be perhaps, that his loincloth was too tight. But I think that the most likely reason of all May have been that his pecs were two sizes too small. But, whatever the reason his pecs or his doors, He stood there on Nordmas eve, hating the Nords. Staring down from his shack with a tusky Orc frown At the warm lighted windows below in their town. For he knew every Nord down in Nord-Ville beneath Was busy now, hanging a Snowberry wreath. "And they're hanging their boots!" he snarled with a sneer. "Tomorrow is Nordmas, it's practically here!" Then he growled, his Orc fingers nervously drumming, "I MUST find a way to keep Nordmas from coming!" For, tomorrow he knew... ...All the Nord girls and boys Would wake up bright and early. They'd rush for their toys! And then! Oh, the shouts! Oh, the shouts! shouts! Shouts! Shouts! That's one thing he hated! The SHOUTS! SHOUTS! SHOUTS! SHOUTS! Then the Nords, young and old, would sit down to a feast. And they'd feast! And they'd feast! And they'd FEAST! FEAST! FEAST! FEAST! They would start on Sweetrolls, and rare Nord-roast-beast Which was something the Orc couldn't stand in the least! And THEN They'd do something he liked least of all! Every Nord down in Nord-ville, the tall and the small, Would stand close together, with Nordmas bells ringing. They'd stand hand-in-hand. And the Nords would start singing! They'd sing! And they'd sing! AND they'd SING! SING! SING! SING! And the more the Orc thought of the Nord-Nordmas-Sing The more the Orc thought, "I must stop this whole thing! "Why for half the era I've put up with it now! I MUST stop Nordmas from coming! ...But HOW?" Then he got an idea! An awful idea! THE ORC GOT A WONDERFUL, AWFUL IDEA! "I know just what to do!" The Orc Laughed in his throat. And he made a quick Talos hat and a coat. And he chuckled, and clucked, "What a great Orcish trick! "With this coat and this hat, I'll look just like Saint 'los!" "All I need is a steed..." The Orc looked around. But since horses are scarce, there was none to be found. Did that stop the headstrong Orc...? No! The Orc simply said, "If I can't find a steed, I'll make one instead!" So he called his dog Max. Then he took some red thread And he tied a big bag on top of his head. THEN He loaded some bags And some old empty sacks On a ramshakle sleigh And he hitched up old Max. Then the Orc said, "Giddyap!" And the sleigh started down Toward the homes where the Nords Lay a-snooze in their town. All their windows were dark. Quiet snow filled the air. All the Nords were all dreaming sweetroll dreams without care When he came to the first house in the square. "This is stop number one," The old Talos Orc hissed And he climbed to the roof, empty bags in his fist. Then he slid down the chimney. A rather tight pinch. But if Talos could do it, then so could the Orc. He got stuck only once, for a moment or two. Then he stuck his head out of the fireplace flue Where the little Nordic boots all hung in a row. "These boots," he grinned, "are the first things to go!" Then he slithered and slunk, with a smile most unpleasant, Around the whole room, and he took every present! War Axes And Armors! Soul Gems! Drums! Ingots! Lockpicks! Skooma! And plums! And he stuffed them in bags. Then the Orc, very nimbly, Stuffed all the bags, one by one, up the chimney! Then he slunk to the icebox. He took the Nord's feast! He took the Sweetrolls! He took the roast beast! He cleaned out that icebox as quick as a flash. Why, that Orc even took their last can of Nord-hash! Then he stuffed all the food up the chimney with glee. "And NOW!" grinned the Orc, "I will stuff up the tree!" And the Orc grabbed the tree, and he started to shove When he heard a small sound like the coo of a dove. He turned around fast, and he saw a small Nord! Little Heimskr, who was Bored. The Orc had been caught by this little Talos Worshiper Who'd got out of bed for a cup of cold water. He stared at the Orc and said, "OH GREAT AND MIGHTY TALOS, WHY, "WHY ARE THESE FILTHY ELVES TARNISHING OUR LANDS!? WHY?" But, you know, that old Orc was so smart and so slick He thought up a lie, and he thought it up quick! "Why my dear faithful," the fake Septium lied, "The land is more fertile on this side. "So I'm rounding supplies to Soverngarde my dear. "I'll get them set up, and come back here." And his fib fooled the man. Then he blessed his head And he got him a drink and he sent him to bed. And when Heimskr went to bed with his cup, HE went to the chimney and stuffed the tree up! Then the last thing he took Was the log for their fire. Then he went up the chimney himself, the old liar. On their walls he left nothing but hooks, and some wire. And the one speck of food The he left in the house Was a crumb that was even too small for a mouse. Then He did the same thing To the other Nord houses Leaving crumbs Much too small For the other Nord mouses! It was quarter past dawn... All the Nords, still a-bed All the Nords, still a-snooze When he packed up his sled, Packed it up with their presents! The Moon Sugar! The whisp-wrappings! The weapons! And the shields! The daggers! The trappings! Three thousand feet up! Up the side of The Throat of the World, He rode to the tiptop to dump it! "Pooh-pooh to the Nordss!" he was Orcish-ly humming. "They're finding out now that no Nordmas is coming! "They're just waking up! I know just what they'll do! "Their mouths will hang open a minute or two "The all the Nords down in Nord-ville will all cry DAMN ELVES!" "That's a noise," grinned the Orc, "That I simply must hear!" So he paused. And the Orc put a hand to his ear. And he did hear a sound rising over the snow. It started in low. Then it started to grow... But the sound wasn't angry! Why, this sound sounded merry! It couldn't be so! But it WAS merry! VERY! He stared down at Nord-ville! The Orc popped his eyes! Then he shook! What he saw was a shocking surprise! Every Nord down in Nord-ville, the tall and the small, Was Singing! Without any presents at all! He HADN'T stopped Nordmas from coming! IT CAME! Somehow or other, it came just the same! And the Orc, with his orc-feet ice-cold in the snow, Stood puzzling and puzzling: "How could it be so? It came without hammers! It came without souls! "It came without metals, bags or Dragon bones!" And he puzzled three hours, `till his puzzler was sore. Then the Orc thought of something he hadn't before! "Maybe Nordmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store. "Maybe Nordmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!" And what happened then...? Well...in Nord-ville they say That the Orc's small pecs Grew three sizes that day! And the minute his heart didn't feel quite so tight, He whizzed with his load through the bright morning light And he brought back the Weapons! And the food for the feast! And he... ...HE HIMSELF...! The Orc carved a great beast! The End.

I sympathize with modders, I really only worked on a minor one back in Morrowind, but I found myself spending more time working on the mod in CK and testing it, and having to address users, than enjoying the game myself. Plus the fact that modders aren't being paid like a dev would be, and having to do this on top of all the other stuff in real life. It's a shame when you see some talented modders get discouraged from modding because of some asshats who won't stop bothering them. And yeah I don't envy when mod makers have to deal with some of these users. It's annoying when you have users accusing the mod maker of destroying their save because they couldn't install it correctly or if it was happening from another one of the dozens of mods they installed without a second thought. It's also pretty annoying when they dump papyrus logs thinking it's akin to a crash log, when it really isn't.
Uh now the Vigilants of Stendarr are attacking me too. I don't have any bounties and I'm not a vampire or a werewolf. I think my save is fucked.
'Twas the night before Frostfall, when all thro' the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that Ysgramor soon would be there; The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of sweetrolls danc'd in their heads this poem is too damn long for a full skyrim conversion
Were you seeing this before you put in the mods? Or did this only happen after you put the mods in?
I think I did, I'm not sure though. I've only just got back into skyrim and loaded up with all these mods. I am quite certain it was like this before though. Here's a screenshot to explain what I mean: http://i.imgur.com/PcrTU0L.jpg http://i.imgur.com/O2dspQv.jpg The rocks only loaded after I came closer to them, and stayed like that when I moved away. I know this is how the original game does it, but it would be nice if the distant textures where the same as the closer ones.

Skyrim is infamous for it's shitty LOD, go onto nexus and type LOD into the search bar and you'll find some good mods to help with that issue. Also make sure in options your draw distances are maxed.

Gonna make you guys flashback
I think. I think I'm thinking about making an Elder Scrolls version of a Christmas Carol!
That is the LOD, which basically means loading over distance.
But literally means Level Of Detail
I kind of want to switch out Alternate Start with the Random Start mod and get the Character Creation Overhaul. Are either of those recommendable or decent?
I prefer the Random Alternate Start over that "Live Another Life" one, RAS just feels so much more flexible while also managing to be quicker and more straightforward. Never tried Character Creation Overhaul, though.
I got enhanced distant terrain 2 and that didn't help. I tried high quality LODs and that didn't seem to help this issue either. I don't know if they can be used in conjunction, but I wasn't. The high quality LODs did make it look better though, so that's a start. NVM I just compared it with vanilla and they did nothing.
So amazon had the anthology up for 50 dollars and i grabbed it. hopefully itll come before christmas
