I just started playing Morrowind for the first time yesterday, and wow, as soon at I started the first quest, I tried to fight a bandit and got raped (no autosave sucks dick by the way). Does anyone have any advice for fighting? It felt like none of my attacks were going through.
That's because Morrowind combot is RNG(random number generator) based. Essentially every time you attack the game rolls a dice to see if you missed or hit.
Jesus christ, that's awful. Are there any mods out there that change that?
Yes but they destroy the balance because the entire game is built around it. Serious question, though. How did you not know about that? I thought it was common knowledge in these circles that MW using an RNG.
Actually there is a mod called Depth Perception for morrowind that changes the RNB based bullshit to deal LESS damage instead of none at all. Overall you still do the same amount of damage, and combat feels way less clunkier and generally less boring since attacks actually connect now. On another note I was tired of making young characters so I made a 50-something year old breton that hates fire spells.
Serious question, though. How did you not know about that? I thought it was common knowledge in these circles that MW using an RNG.
I've never even heard of that. The only other time I've seen something like that was in runescape.
One thing I don't see there is Skyrim Enchantress. Turns illusion spells into sex spells whilst remaining playable. You didn't do a true whorim playthrough without that.
Well, shit. Now I have to reinstall everything.
Is it possible to open an .esp file to change the base armor for armor mod? Because I want to do that.
Is it possible to open an .esp file to change the base armor for armor mod? Because I want to do that.
You can. Just open it in the creation kit. Optionally, you can make a patch by loading it as a master file (as well as Skyrim.esm) and changing the values in a new .esp file.
Alright, I've opened up Skyrim.esm and Yngolsarmor.esp, now were do I go to edit the armor values?
Alright, I've opened up Skyrim.esm and Yngolsarmor.esp, now were do I go to edit the armor values?
Find the armor in the creation kit. It will probably be named something obvious like "Yngolsarmor" or something similar. Then you can open it and change the armor values.
Find the armor in the creation kit. It will probably be named something obvious like "Yngolsarmor" or something similar. [editline]15th December 2013[/editline] I've changed the armor values, now how do I make it into an .esp?
Is there something wrong with the Nexus? Clicking on the link to download "Realistic Needs and Diseases" with the NMM doesnt open anything
Ill click the link and a new tab will open for a split second, then it just goes away
Still, while I do think the whole sexmods thing turned into an ridiculous stew, I did end up with some post-traumatic growth out of it. I mean loverslab doesn't look all that bad anymore now that I know what it actually contains. It doesn't have a whole library of ridiculous fetishes and pedophilia, but instead it's a bunch of bodymods and patches with a billion unanswered requests. The development of new mods also happens at such a snail-speed that it is nothing to be afraid of and I can safely say that Skyrim modding is not fucked. I even found the body mod I installed to be at least somewhat believable and while the jiggly breasts were obnoxious, they did add at least some kind of immersion. It for example synergized well with an animation of a wolf licking my characters breast (probably a bad example, but then again, 80% of the session was my character getting fucked by wolves).
Are you fucking high Someone has been hitting the skooma
Do I just save after I edit the values of the armor and close the Creation Kit? Or is there something else I need to do first? Sorry if I'm clogging this page up with my help requests, I just have no idea how to make something work ingame and the Creation Kit wiki isn't helping much.
Are you fucking high. Most likely in a new .esp file.
I have no idea how to imagine these things.
My metaphors and analogies tend to suck more than a Swedish moose on the construction site of the new world trade center wearing a hat.
Make sure you didn't set Yngolsarmor.esp as Active if you want to make a separate plugin for your armor change.
So, if I didn't make it seperate, it would simply change the base armor values of the existing Yngolsarmor.esp with out making a new one right? If so, I can live with it.
From the outside, it looks like a million dicks stuffed on top of each other while slowly being inserted into breast-shaped holes. From the inside, it looks like furry stick being rubbed against wet plastic. [
That's still pretty fucked up. That's like saying shitting nipples is "not that bad" when you first expected shitting dick nipples
Jesus christ, that's awful. Are there any mods out there that change that?
or just deal with it lol 1. choose a weapon type you want to use 2. choose a race with the most bonus to said weapon type 3. make that weapon type one of your major skills 4. choose a sign which allows you to hit more congratulations you will now hit 9/10 times and even if you dont you will level up said skill very swifly in the beginning of the game
That's still pretty fucked up. That's like saying shitting nipples is "not that bad" when you first expected shitting dick nipples
All I'm saying is that they don't go completely overboard, and the snail-speed development time makes it even less obnoxious. There were for example only two animations for getting raped by a wolf. Edit: I forgot that I probably shouldn't defend this.
Having problems with the battle for whiterun on the imperial side, the legate guy isn't giving me the relevant quest dialogue and is instead just giving me generic imperial soldier dialogue, what do?
???
???
Are you on PC ? If you are open the console and enter "setstage CQSiegeObj 1" without brackets and it should force the quest to start.
It's really not that hard to get your character to hit at least 3/4 of the time with your chosen weapon even as early as an hour into Morrowind.
The mistakes people make all to often are making a shitty character build who is using a weapon they are not skilled with, then running into a fight with absolutely no stamina and flailing their weapon around wildly. Make a good character build that has at least 40-50 in their primary weapon skill and has a decent agility rating. Enter combat with full stamina bar whenever possible. Even though the RNG mechanic is shitty, morrowinds combat has a few saving graces. At least when I smash somebody in the face with a warhammer they generally get stunned or fall down in morrowind, can't say the same for skyrim. Weapons also have different damage ranges, swords can deliver devastating attacks, but they need to be "charged up" on the attack so they do the most damage, whereas clubs and daggers can be used to club/stab the shit out of your opponent without needing to "charge" the attack. It's a level of depth that OB/skyrim didn't even try to offer. also, spears and halberds.

It promotes trying to game the system over playing the game.
Character progression in Morrowind and Oblivion sucks. And by that I mean the leveling system. It promotes trying to game the system over playing the game.
And it's terrible in Skyrim because it doesn't promote focusing on a certain skill and instead pretty much forces you to do everything all at once since vanilla magic is just not strong enough to hold itself together without some heavy armor and weapons thrown in. TES games all have abysmal character progression and deeply unbalanced mechanics. Bethesda games in general are barely even balanced.
