Their species are defined by the moons.
For example if a khajiit gives birth while the moons are in a specific way, a normal housecat comes out. Other cases involve it being basically a horse-sized tiger or it having ditigrade legs.

Yes, of course it's due to the moons.
"Honey, our child is a housecat because of the moons! I swear! And please ignore Mr. Scruffles being oddly possessive of me, house cats just normally do that."
What if one of the house cat versions gave birth to one of the tiger-horse versions?
Hell, what if any of the weirder ones gave birth to a normal one?
"And here are my parents... yes, you're just the best little parents, yes you are! Make sure to feed them twice a day and scoop out the litter box every few days. Dad likes to have his belly rubbed, while Mom likes it if you scratch behind her ears. Their toys are in the basket in the closet, and the treats are in the rightmost cupboard in the kitchen."
Khajiit lore is some weird-ass shit.
I can see Kirkbride going there.
Indeed, it involves barbed penises.
I haven't found anything about their amount of nipples yet, though.
Good old Queen Barenziah apparently had sex with a khajiit in the middle of a crowded tavern to get accepted in the thieves guild, and it hurt like absolute hell. Or so you learn in the daggerfall version of The Real Barenziah.
In any other version of the book (so in Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim) the passage is censored. Kinda funny considering you actually meet Barenziah in Daggerfall and she asks you to make sure the book never gets published for that exact reason, but it does anyway in further books regardless of whether or not you did the quest.

I'm wondering if you're serious with that edit line message.
Was the Khajitt made up by a fucking creep because the lore is pretty fucked up
[editline]16th December 2013[/editline]
Jesus fucking Christ I didn't even know it was in the middle of a fucking crowded tavern. That's like the HR Giger of writing.
Also yeah Khajiit lore is really, REALLY fucked up and retarded.

Yeah according to that passage of the book the Khajiit just literally stripped her naked, pushed her against a wall and violated her with everyone looking for about five seconds then somehow losing interest.
And Barenziah thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing.
The Real Barenziah is a really weird book.
They settled into Rifton for the winter, taking a cheap room in the slums. Barenziah joined the Thieves' Guild, knowing there would be trouble if she were caught free-lancing. One day in the barroom she caught the eye of a known member of the guild, a bold young Khajiit named Therris. She offered to bed with him if he would sponsor her for membership. He looked her over, grinning, and agreed, but said she'd still have to pass a test.
"What sort of test?"
"Ah," Therris said. "Payment first, sweet thing." He put an arm around her, leaned over and kissed her, thrusting his tongue deep into her mouth and his free hand into her shirt.
"Nice," he said presently, withdrawing his tongue, but not his hand. His other hand slid down inside her waistband and fondled her buttocks.
50 Shades of Cat
I don't even think I have to read the rest to get the idea that someone seriously wrote this.
I don't like that the word buttocks is considered to be the more professional term for butt, because it is such a silly word and makes me giggle internally.

That actually sounds adorable.
That actually sounds adorable.
is your definition of adorable different than mine
[editline]16th December 2013[/editline]
Like for us humans, it would be like your parents being 2 apes.

But apes look ugly. Cats are cute.

Isn't that from the Daggerfall version of The Real Barenziah? I'm a long ways from playing that yet so I don't know for sure.
Whoever wrote that Khajiit lore must have been fucking high or something. It sounds like nothing else I've heard of in the TES universe.
Actually, to be honest, both Argonians and Khajiits always struck me as ill-fitting.

These haven't even crossed my mind until now.
Yeah argonians don't have the same "ancestor" as Man and Mer.
Argonians came from trees
Man and Mer came from idk not trees
Would anyone happen to know if the public at large would be familiar of the reason behind a new emperor lighting the dragonfires?
Obviously the ceremony itself is the kind of thing that people would be aware of, but I'm referring to the fact that it renews the barriers with Oblivion. I would assume so, but I vaguely recall Jauffre or someone commenting that most people don't see the significance of the Amulet of Kings, and they seems like related pieces of knowledge.

Most people do know of the sealing of Oblivion, I think. But it's more of a folk tale than a warning to them
I looked up this one and I don't really like it because it goes a bit overboard with the detail. I found one that just adds some definition to the fur and also improves argonian scales so that's perfect.
I use these two, they work pretty well.

Thanks. The person I was wondering about specifically was actually Martin (before the actual events of Oblivion), and he's a priest of Akatosh. If anyone were to know about it, he would.

Or monkeys.
"Mom, Dad, I'd like you to meet my new girlfriend."
One of the monkeys throws a handful of shit at her.
"Wow, it's rare that Dad gives his sign of approval so quickly."
Whoever wrote that Khajiit lore must have been fucking high or something.
why do you think skooma and khajiit go hand in hand
Hell, what if the weird khajiit breeds aren't because of the moons, but because of all of the moon sugar?
The Elder Scrolls Megathread XVI: So, was it your mother or your father that was the housecat?
Arena Update: I went to the Ice Fortress so I can find the map to Labyrinthian and continue my quest to find the Staff Of Chaos. Thank Fuck I decided to upgrade my gear and buy a bunch of Heal True potions. Those Knights and Ice Golems would have really wrecked my shit if I hadn't. After I finish with Labyrinthian itself, I think I'm going to keep doing odd jobs until I can afford even better gear than Dwarven, because I still found myself in situations where I nearly got killed (getting ganged up on by 3 Knights was not a pleasant experience). Then again, maybe all I need to do for now is just keep a lot of health items on my person. The good news is that thanks to the Oghma Infinium, I no longer have to worry about encumbrance. Instead I can just keep looting shit until I get the "Inventory Full" message. Still, a bit of advice to anyone else who decides to play Arena, you should try to focus on looting belts, bracers, amulets, torcs, and marks. Things like that, which are usually weightless to begin with. Almost every time (if not every single time) you loot one of those items they turn out to be magical, which means once you spend some money getting them identified by a Mage, you can get real big bucks selling them in an equipment store (the price to get them identified is usually 1/10th to 1/3rd of the item's worth getting sold in an equipment store).

Is this a mod you're playing? It sounds interesting.
I wish alchemy had been a bit more... I don't know, easy to understand as a beginner. I'm level 40 and only just now realizing how alchemy works because it was far too confusing before, and if I had known about it, I would have made it a skill focus.
Oh man Im having a super immersive experience with Skyrim right now and the game feels 200% less shallow with mods this is great
mods:
Realistic needs and diseases
Inconsequential NPCs
Interesting NPCs
Skyrim Unbound
Armed to the teeth
Wet and Cold
Cloaks of skyrim
Hypothermia
Fast Travel disabed
Anyone have the link to that guide that has a list of mods that do not conflict with each other? There was a specific mod in that list I wanted.
