Okay, got it fixed. I just needed to get the injector version instead of the wrapper version.
In other words, you didn't follow the instructions to the letter. c;
In other words, you didn't follow the instructions to the letter. c;
No? I just switched versions. There were no 'instructions'.
No? I just switched versions. There were no 'instructions'.
No, on the actual enb website there are specific instructions on which files to grab and what versions to get. Hell, I am pretty sure the file on the enb site has the actual word "injector" on it, it was a human error related to you, which I knew it was. Hence me saying go back and make sure you followed the instructions properly to the letter, which you didn't.
link me to these instructions and i downloaded .240, the file that i needed for the enb profile i wanted to get
So you didn't read the instructions to the letter then?
So you didn't read the instructions to the letter then?
there are literally no instructions on the main site don't be a dick
I am not being a dick, I am just trying to get the point across that I gave you advice to review what you did because you probably made a mistake, which you did. http://www.enbdev.com/download.htm Instructions are on that page, and the name for the enb is "ENB INJECTOR", yet you downloaded the wrapper version, not the injector version. You made a mistake which is perfectly fine, but maybe you should listen to my advice next time instead of rating me dumb.
For injector based versions of ENBSeries, you should setup proper name of game executable in configuration file of ENBSeries, this required to inject in to game process.
Third sentence of the instructions even says it is injector version, the link to download the enb says it is injector version, and the website has injection vision written all over it. It would be like me downloading climates of tamerial then installing a realistic lighting overhaul patch.
But the one obviously being used for skyrim is the injector, which is even listed further down the page, you have to manually move the .dll for the wrapper version which is also stated in the instructions. He didn't read, was impatient in installing it and when I told him to go back and review the process he did to install, he rated me dumb. Then lo and behold, he downloaded the wrong enb version off the nexus, which was quickly fixed by him going back and reviewing his process. He came for advice, I gave it, and he ignored it.
You can use the injector or wrapper with Skyrim, it's even packaged with the download. I have a laptop that uses optimus, so I need to use injector to get ENB working properly.
Yea I edited my post, either way it states in the instructions that you have to move the .dlls for the wrapper version. So he had all the information he needed on that page, yet he ignored me when I told him to go and check the instructions again.
Still not sure which sort of character to play as in Skyrim. Nord or Bosmer? I've played both before but still...
Orc sneak mage.
Kinda what I'm playing just now - Orc Vampire, so lots of sneaking and magic (Brehanin's Better Vampires)
Still not sure which sort of character to play as in Skyrim. Nord or Bosmer? I've played both before but still...
Bosmer for sure. Get some light armor, quality bow and maybe a one hander combined with some destruction spells and you're set.
Still not sure which sort of character to play as in Skyrim. Nord or Bosmer? I've played both before but still...
Breton or Argonian. Both really good.
Still not sure which sort of character to play as in Skyrim. Nord or Bosmer? I've played both before but still...
Doesn't matter, all of the abilities are situational and the stat bonuses matter for 15 minutes at the beginning of the game. Only exception is Altmer magicka. EDIT: oh yeah and redguard + orc powers
Still not sure which sort of character to play as in Skyrim. Nord or Bosmer? I've played both before but still...
High Elf if you want to be a mage, Redguard if you want to be sword-n-board, and Argonian if you just want to beat the shit out of things. Their racial powers are extremely helpful, far less situational than most of them.

Arena Update: I bought an Ebony Longsword. It was out of necessity because I was sent on a quest to rescue a noble's son, and it turned out his captor was a Fire Daemon, which are immune to Dwarven weaponry. I traveled to the nearest town that sold a weapon that could affect it (UESP has a list of what items are available for sale where), but it was still a while away, so when I came back to the dungeon the time limit had passed and the Daemon was gone, so I just looted the place and went back to Silvenar where I was informed that the kid I had to save managed to escape by himself, but the 3000+ gold reward I was offered was forfeit because I didn't save him myself. Oh well, I eventually got sent on another quest involving slaying a Fire Daemon, so the money wasn't wasted (besides, Ebony gear is the highest-tier gear in this game, so I'm set for life weapon-wise). I'm still a ways away from getting enough money to buy Ebony Armor, though, but I'm getting there.
You mean the entire world isn't leveled and pointless and doesn't arbitrarily make you loot 230 identical dungeons per day to get the statistical outcome you wanted so items have a value appreciable to the player and there's a purpose to leveling because it's withholding advancement rather than better gear gay
I find Breton to be better for being a mage, although High Elf is arguably just as good.
Breton's don't really have anything magic-wise, aside from a start bonus of a few magic schools being slightly higher level. I mean if you're fighting another wizard you'll take less damage and you can absorb some of the spell for extra mp but meanwhile a high elf has 5 levels of bonus magicka (more if you're a vamp with necromage) and a mana regeneration power.
I just calculated how much Gold I would need to buy myself a full set of Ebony Armor in Arena. It amounted to over 260,000 gold. I only have just over 50,000, and each side quest/dungeon excursion usually nets me just 5000 gold per time if I'm lucky. So for now I'm going to put looting on hold and going after the 3rd Staff piece. I need to get back on that trail, because a tiny part of me really wants to get through this game and move onto Daggerfall.
Take your time, it's much more fun that way
Arena has nowhere near the same amount of story quality or quest diversity that it's sequels have, and that includes the main quest as well. It gets boring rather quickly.
To be honest you can just skip Arena entirely, it's not even that good of a game and Daggerfall fixed everything that needed to be.
How hard is it to set up the old main TES games? I tried setting up battlespire a while back and although I got it into a playable state it was still a bit of a disaster.
To be honest you can just skip Arena entirely, it's not even that good of a game and Daggerfall fixed everything that needed to be.
Nah, I've put in too many hours to just quit now. I'm following this through to the end. I doubt I'll ever play it again after that, but I'm not stopping now.
