More than OCO, I'm really waiting for a mod that revamps ALL armor to come out.
The base armor in oblivion looks dreadful.
Not these ones

Wow sure don't remember that, geez

This came out recently, helps alleviate half the problem.

Ironically armor in oblivion is completely useless anyways, the sigil stones that you get that have like 25% shield and such vastly outclass even the best armor. Such is life in a DR% armor system.

Female armour that isn't 90% teenage masturbatory aid? I'm surprised it hasn't been removed from the Nexus for not being inappropriate enough
Arena Update: Went through Serena's Web for the Queen of Eldenroot to get "Serena's Heart", which is apparently a crystal some evil sorceress uses to store her life power. The Queen wants it so she has something to keep said sorceress from attacking the city. In return I get the location of the Elden Grove, where the third Staff Piece resides. I managed to fully explore the first level of the Web but the map provided by the UESP revealed that the second level was full of trenches and canals, which make dungeon exploring super tedious, so I just went right for the Heart (had to look for a key first, dammit) and got out of there. So many goddamn spiders in that dungeon (gee, I wonder why? was the name supposed to be a hint?), and they are the most annoying enemy in the game. And they hit real hard for some reason. I hope the Elden Grove has less Spiders. In fact, I hope the rest of the game has a severe reduction of spiders in it's dungeons. I'd take an army of Fire Daemons over another goddamn spider.
I enjoyed the main story line in Oblivion a lot more than the one in Skyrim, in fact I thought the main story was actually quite alright in Oblivion - that said though, I haven't finished either of them :v:
I have the worst luck. This is the fourth time in a row I've said "You know what, I feel like modding Skyrim." and halfway through it I'm greeted by the Nexus is under maintenance page.

My personal favorite.
All of Oblivion's flaws considered and acknowledged, though, I remember its world - after Natural Environments and Better Cities, to be entirely fair - as able to punch far above the other offerings on the BethSoft variety-detail curve: they'd given each a unique remit (as in Morrowind - the two sleepy fishermen's villages aside) *and* scaled them up a great deal. When you were done with that, then, there were the Shivering Isles - more of the same, save for the even greater extent to which they'd elaborated their cities and settlements out.
But I'm far more willing than most to overlook the flaws the mechanics together induced precisely because of that. I do that, for example, to the fact that Oblivion by far and large decides to head off on its own from the trajectory that Redguard and Morrowind set - it still seems like a case of not-invented-here to me, but then again that's at the very least justified reconstruction from scratch - see the amount of work, then, that they've done.
I don't know what you guys are going on about but I played atleast 100 hours of oblivion and bought every single piece of DLC
I remember I bought it knowing diddly-squat about the game and suddenly I was playing in this huge fantasy world where I could run around do whatever I wanted

I guess I'll get Oblivion then, are there any good recommended mod lists floating around? Not gonna bother with vanilla.

Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul is always a good place to start, I don't think it's on the nexus but it's a huge-ass mod that even got the recognition of Bethesda has an improved version of Oblivion in every possible way.
You can also try Nerhim.
Well, OCO and OOO are two good ones. Hell, just download anything that starts with O.
Yeah, OOO is probably a good place to start. Oblivion is pretty great and worth experiencing, it just a few key features that really suck ass (level scaling and faces mostly)
Definitely get the current version of OCO as well, it's a must have, though the next version looks kicks ass, but not released yet :[

Is it only for female armors?

Meh, personally OOO doesnt do it for me, neither does OCO, I prefer OOOOOOOOO or OOHOHOHO even O is better in my honest opinion.
Needs a biography or something
Nuska: The Tale of the Great Oblivion Deshittening
Now we need mods that revoice every character in Oblivion and Morrowind.
Except for Morrowind's Dunmer. They can stay.

I always loved this armour
it's just so simple and effective.
i'd kill to have it in skyrim again.

The iron armor isn't that far off, just without sleeves.

This feels relevant

You guys probably get asked this every month, but what mods should I get for Morrowind? The thing to keep in mind is that I'm used to Skyrim, I'm a difficulty deprived little babe here :C
[sp]and also anything to remove the chance-of-simply-not-hitting-because-p&p-style and such i hear about would be greatly appreciated[/sp]
Where's that Dark Souls mod korjax made in this thread?
Also where's Altimor's wizard movement shit. I need them both.
I'm reinstalling Skyrim.

fine here http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8355
Even if they use a different format, could you not technically replace all the oblivion body meshes with skyrim's ones with some work?

If you could get it to a model editor, sure.
I never liked the iron armor in Oblivion
I love how I can still wander across Skyrim and come across another dungeon I haven't done. Just two days ago I discovered that the Dragonborn DLC plopped an entire Dwemer dungeon quest into Skyrim, and I hadn't discovered it until months later.
And I got a sick ass shield out of it.
