The Elder Scrolls Megathread XV: A Song of Ice and Draugr

i've been having some creator kit problems of my own. I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to create my old save's character into a follower. For whatever reason, it's not working. My hunch is on the custom body I used with her, but that applies to every female, so I don't get why I can't recruit as a follower.
One of my primary characters. Tried my best to port one of my characters from Oblivion into Skyrim, mixed results of course.
I don't understand ~lore friendly~
As long as they're not like, wearing a hoodie and jeans etc/using bullshit weaponry I just go with it.
its more for posting images, since some people get really upset over people not using muh lore friendly mods

I fast traveled to Dragonsreach and just found this cow like this in the town below.

I better start saving up then.
Playing with throwing weapons and firearms is hilarious.
I'm a god damn wood elf cutting people with an axe and tossing molotovs all over the place
I just got the vanilla Skyrim from someone, does anyone know a cheap place to buy the DLC? The DLC on Steam is more expensive together than the Legendary Edition.

I believe Gamestop has both the major DLCs for $9.99. Unfortunately the Legendary Edition is the cheapest you can get right now which is retarded but whatever.
EDIT: Guess it was only yesterday. Amazon has Dawnguard for $9.99. But Dragonborn seems to be $13 everywhere.
So does anyone know anyone who knows how to script for Morrowind? Because none of the scripts I'm trying to get to work are working.
Thoughts on Dragonborn:
Apocrypha is the coolest place, Miraak was a bitch, Stalhrim looks ugly, Solstheim is tiny and interesting, more dungeons need to be designed like the Solstheim dwemer ruins, why do none of these dunmer care that I'm an Argonian?
bought the legendary edition.
Finally, i can adopt a child from that bitch at honourhall.

Oh god, Miraak's mask is so good but I'm an Argonian.
Finished the mainstory line of Dragonborn, that was short and underwhelming as fuck.

Who, Grelod? First thing I do every playthrough is kill that bitch to initiate the Dark Bro-hood quest.

You can adopt the kiddies once she's dead. Speak with Constible
Hearthfire makes me sad.
There is always a kid in the streets in every hold that has the same story.
"My parents died, I'm poor and homeless, I'm selling flowers/food/ect to survive. Can you be my father?"
Like, come on. I don't have the time to marry and visit every so often, but I have the money to last more than a lifetime. I wish I could spend my 100,000 gold to buy a homeless shelter in every hold.

The rotten cherry on the shit cake is that [sp]you don't even get to kill him yourself[/sp]
I cant even get hearthfire working, it just crashes when I enter my house in whiterun.
I cant even get hearthfire working, it just crashes when I enter my house in whiterun.
Because Hearthfire has edited the vanilla houses, so any mods that you have affected your Whiterun House probably isn't compatible with Hearthfire.
You know what mod i'd want to see?
And no, it's not some insane perverted mod.
I want to see a family of some kind.
I want the dragonborn to have a family.
Every character in TES is a single orphaned only child with no relatives at all.
I'd love to have some evidence that you at least had someone related to you, even something simple like getting a letter delivered that says .. i dunno.. "Dear [player name], we are all so proud of you and cannot believe you are the dragonborn please stay safe - love mom"
Even that little bit right there would add so much more to your character.
Ideally, if i could create a mod, it'd have you come back to your home, maybe do a few minor quests for your parents like go out and collect wood for winter, clear the area of wolves, then maybe a major quest where you go and reclaim your family weapon. It could be just a plain steel sword, but it'd be yours.
Maybe you could even have siblings as followers.
That'd be totally awesome i think.
You could even have your own little player owned room in basement with a copy of the "lusty argonian maid" hidden under the bed :v:

I thought that the main story for Dragonborn was well-written. At least, compared to the rest of Skyrim it is. [sp]I mean, Old Herma-Mora was manipulating you the whole time so that you'd take Miraak's place as his Champion while using Miraak to teach you a lesson on what would happen if you tried to escape his grasp, and getting the secrets of the Skaal at the same time, too.[/sp] It's a hell of a lot better than "Oh no! A Dragon wants to destroy the world! Prophecy has dictated that only YOU can defeat it!"

Because that ruins all sense of roleplay?
What if I am an exile disowned by my parents?
What if my parents were murdered and im hunting the group that killed them?
There are some questions in the game that ask you about your family and you can answer them, but in the end giving you some kind of background restricts what you can roleplay.
Kind of obvious why they didn't do it.
Though if they did implement it, maybe have some npc ask you questions and depending on your answer certain events could happen I suppose.

it's just what I MYSELF wanted to see.

What if I wasn't at Helgen?
Oh wait, I was.
What if I wasn't at Helgen?

But what happened to you before Helgen? Why did you cross the border into Skyrim? There are so many possible reasons that people could think up that making a single backstory canon would piss a lot of role-players off. Wasn't it a major criticism for Fallout: New Vegas when they had the Lonesome Road DLC force a backstory on you, which made a lot of role-players angry because it clashed with the backstory they made for themselves?

The only thing that the Lonesome Road DLC did was tell you that you dropped off a package while you still were a courier, and then elaborated what happened with that package and how it affected the people around it/related to it.
The fact that you are a courier is established by the main game. Wouldn't that be a restriction on the player for roleplay?

And it's not like it wasn't established that you'd been a longstanding courier and that Ulysses was pissed off with you (It was in the base game in the conversation in the town where you inquire about the package you were carrying).
I dunno, people who complained about Lonesome Road would probably have complained about FO1 and 2 forcing a vault dwelling and tribal backstory on you respectively, nevermind that FO3 charted ALL your backstory out.

Because the TES series has always left your background bare, although you can answer some questions about your family in "No one escapes Cidhna Mine." and I think Serana ask you a question about your family as well.

The answers to those are all the players choice, though. I'm talking about forcing one, single backstory that leaves no room for flexibility. That would really suck.
omg who gives a shit guys, it is the way it is and if they want something specific for themselves then they can make it or hope someone makes it. Chill guys pls.
