To be fairly honest I'm really pissed at the fact Skyrim has pretty much completely erased all mentions of Mannimarco and the Underking. You still find the Necromancer's Amulet and the king of worms is mentioned in some books, and that's about it. I mean fucking hell, we're talking about an altmer that managed to single-handedly become a god and a battlemage who reanimated the numidium, destroyed it twice, and fucked up so hard in the process he became immortal. Oh, and when he became mortal again and committed suicide, it not only supposedly killed the protagonist of Daggerfall, but also deprived an entire zone of magic entirely. The lovecraftian mindfucking lore of Daggerfall/Morrowind is really lacking in Skyrim. Oblivion really poorly tried to get bits and pieces of it (like the king of worms showing up, looking like a total dipshit), but skyrim is completely devoid of even the slightest mention of it.

But yeah, I guess it's just beth trying not to re-use lore or just not even thinking about it being there.

I think after you give the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller to the Greybeards, Arngeir calls you Ysmir. And Ysmir was the Underking at one point, so doesn't that make you the Underking? Or is it just a ceremonial title?
I think it's more of a ceremonial title, the underking is dead and buried since daggerfall.
Modded the everliving fuck out of Skyrim, and apart from the too-lush Whiterun, I think I did fairly well. I have 301 individual mods, with 272 individual esps (minus a few disabled ones). It's also surprisingly stable... Yess my quest is finally finished. Test it out if you like. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/52116717/CrowbarModWithQuest.zip
So I said I'd start Daggerfall tomorrow, but I kinda started it already. The ability to change the controls and use the mouse to look around is already a massive improvement. Apparently Bethesda had originally planned on letting you import your Arena save to Daggerfall, but the massive differences between the two games made saves incompatible. I intend on at least honoring the spirit of their original intent by making a similar-looking character with the same name: a red-haired Nord female named Jaynis The Free. Starting with Morrowind, though, I'm making my characters Argonian males. I already have names picked out for my Oblivion and Skyrim characters: Smoke-On-The-Water (will have entirely black skin), and Fire-In-The-Sky (entirely red skin). Those have been the names for my Argonian characters forever. I'm still trying to think of a good Argonian name for my Morrowind character. Right now my mind is trying to think of a good buttsex joke to make into a name, but the final name might (key word: MIGHT) be a little more mature than that. Anyways, I didn't really explore the starter dungeon. I've heard that if you get too far off course you end up running into higher-level monsters, and I'm not exactly keen on getting squashed like a bug (although that did happen once or twice regardless). Now I'm in the actual city-state of Daggerfall. Probably going to see if I can do random odd-jobs until I get info for the next Main Quest.
for an added +10 horrificness play as one of the child races also, how the heck do you reduce the head wobbling with Immersive First Person Camera?
Modify the head rotation.
Modify the head rotation.
and how'd you do that? in-game? out of game?

TGM right as the game loads
and how'd you do that? in-game? out of game?
Use the MCM menu. Press esc, go to Mod Configuration, select Immersive First Person Camera and click on Profile 1, usually the default one.
So I can't buy the house in Riften. I've done all the quests for the Jarl, she's told me to buy the house to become Thane, but when I talk to her steward about buying it, the only option there is to think about it even though I have enough cash.

I just realized both of those mods and project flintlock all require dawnguard. I guess I won't be trying out any gun mods soon, then.
How the heck do you reduce the head wobbling with Immersive First Person Camera?
I haven't tried it yet, just like everything else in the bottom list. Speaking of trying out mods, I've been looking at ZaZ Animation Pack and I may try it out.

I'm pretty sure we have all done this
I love how insanely high you fly if you get smashed by a giant. It doesn't even make any sense.
The answers to those are all the players choice, though. I'm talking about forcing one, single backstory that leaves no room for flexibility. That would really suck.
But what if they had you assign your backstory in character creation, kind of like Mass Effect? It'd have several options to choose from and those would give you a different "backstory quest". Of course, there could also be a "amnesiac" option or some shit where you are left to give yourself your own backstory because none of the quest backstories were appropriate enough for your Gary Stu or Mary Sue. IMO that would sound quite nice.
Anybody played any good professions mods? I think it's time for my Skyrim character to get a Skyrim job.
Anybody played any good professions mods? I think it's time for my Skyrim character to get a Skyrim job.
See my guide on the previous page.
I swear, Nexus can't stay up for longer than a day.
When nexus stops being a bitch I'll reinstall Oblivion from scratch and pretty much limit my mods to flora, ENB and OCO, plus a level scaling mod. Probably some quest mods too because some of them are really great (the archeologist guild mod is really fun). In the meantime, anyone got a mod for skyrim that adds more casual clothes ? The base game really doesn't have that much choice in that regard and most options are just recolored textures.
I have pretty much given up on Oblivion due to how terribly it runs on my machine. Its hard to maintain a good fps when you are trying to make the game not look like complete shit.
I've honestly never touched OCO, and I think now is the time. Is there a version of it that is more lore friendly?
You can just get OCO v2, it's as lore friendly as it gets considering it essentially gives humans a more normal looking face and gives elven races a face closer to what you can find in Skyrim. I'd appreciate a list of your mods so I could install them btw, looks like you got yourself a pretty nifty build. Last time I tried installing ENB for oblivion it turned the whole thing into a blurry unreadable mess.
Oh, well OOO is pretty much as lore friendly as it gets, it doesn't really add anything that's totally out of context and generally does a good job flourishing the base game's content while widely improving the level and item scaling. Its main issue is that it changes so much stuff that it's really hard to find compatible mods. Personally I prefer picking up smaller mods for each thing and make my own thing out of them. I really wonder if there is a website for Oblivion that's similar to Skyrimgems.
