I found a stray dog in Skyrim, after letting it follow me for a while then I dismissed it as a follower at the Hall of the Vigilant and I imagined I gave it to the Vigilants of Stendarr.
Better not install Dawnguard...
Yo, are there any skyrim mods that significantly increase performance? No matter what my game runs pretty garbage. [editline]30th December 2013[/editline] already got the 4gb patch
Better not install Dawnguard...
It was actually brilliant foreplanning on my part, it's setting up character motivation because it's mostly out-of-character knowledge that makes me want to see every last vampire (barring [sp]the court mage of Solitude[/sp]) burn a horrible, crispy, righteous final death.
Why not [sp]the court wizard?[/sp]
She hasn't overstepped any moral boundries (that I'm aware of) and isn't openly malevolent. She's kind of like [sp]Count Skingrad[/sp].

Look at all that friggin detail holy shit
With 3D models, new textures, and the cities visible though... hng...

I might have just discovered the secret to Dwemer technology [t]http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/666830221558774175/1CB5769914B77DE84CA10C5ABC6BBD6257FBBF0D/[/t]
All the dwemer ascended into bees and now pilot the various machines that litter those shit-dens?
does anyone else here use AFT (amazing follower tweaks)? I've been having a hard time getting it to play nice. It'll recruit a follower and manage them no problem, but the moment I load a game of any kind and try to manage them the blasted thing seems to refuse my followers' very existences, saying they're unrecognized in 1.66. This usually means I have to manually break them out of my follower shell and recruit them again until the next time that I reload. it's really annoying.
Is it possible to kill Ancano before the shitstorm with the Mages College goes down? Will I get kicked out, or will it prevent the rest of the quest from happening?
Is it possible to kill Ancano before the shitstorm with the Mages College goes down? Will I get kicked out, or will it prevent the rest of the quest from happening?
I'm guessing he's essential.
I'm guessing he's essential.
He is, and it makes the rest of the college pissed off at you. Presumably the rest of Winterhold, though I didn't stick around when I tried that on my first playthrough.

Why can't it just make them kick you out of the college and give you a bunch of "QUEST FAILED"-fallout type stuff.
Is there mod that gives you your own town? OR lets you build one? I want to roleplay my character as going from hunter to 'jarl' of their own town. Is there anything like this?

Ain't nobody gonna fuck with Skyrim with a leader as badass as that.

I originally took the Stormcloak side because I wanted an independent Skyrim, not because of the "Skyrim for the Nords" thing. Only after did I realize that going with the Empire was more beneficial in every way. I still think an independent Skyrim is a good idea, but it would support the Empire regardless. That way Skyrim is independent but they still support the Empire, and both sides of the Civil War is somewhat happy. I hated Ulfric's blatant racism, but I wanted an independent Skyrim. What I wouldn't do give Ulfric a piece of my mind. Maybe Ulfric would finally start to purge Skyrim of all non Nords, and you kill him in the end. Also there would be the possibility of taking over as Jarl of Windhelm, and eventually High King of Skyrim.

You're already Dragonborn, they don't need to mary sue you into becoming high king of skyrim or emperor as well. Bethesda likes making the player feel super important, but it's the games that don't make you feel important that were the best. New Vegas felt more personal than "save the wasteland" Fallout 3, and TES:M felt good because nobody respected you for shit even if you were nevarine.

That dude's a dick and totally deserves it. Come on guys, it's ~lore fitting~

They made you clear shit up in their back gardens and then sent you off with a smile and a pat having declared you "Hortator", an empty title which basically means "We respect your willingness to sort out our shit and die in a morally dubious quest which we don't think you've a snowballs hope of achieving." The Urshilaku are the closest to a bunch of bros you've got, and they're a bunch of backash guar herders. Even the dissident priests are just looking for their apostasy to be justified. Nevermind there is the whole questionable nature of whether or not Dagoth Ur was actually a villain, or loyal liegeman to Nerevar fighting back against the murderers of his lord.
Man I sure would be enjoying skyrim if it didn't crash constantly whenever I approach windhelm or solitude
Man I sure would be enjoying skyrim if it didn't crash constantly whenever I approach windhelm or solitude
i've gotten into hour 50~ of my 100+ mod playthrough and i cannot for the life of me find out what is crashing me it isnt super common, but there are times it will silent crash constantly and i'll have no clue what is causing it
Skyrim is such a CPU void that essentially installing any mod that somehow adds recurring script, such as Wet & Cold, Sounds of Skyrim or Audio Overhaul will either remove all textures in the game on a regular basis due to not enough ram to render it, or will make the game crash entirely at some places, sometimes also frying the savegame with it. It's a fucking script giving items to people when it rains or playing specific sounds at night, and somehow skyrim is such a buggy piece of shit that's enough to make everything go to shit. I run BOSS every single time I install a mod to prevent this, but there are just some mods that make skyrim's CPU usage go way up the charts, it's unbearable. Guess I'll have to give up on ENB and use imaginator instead, even though the game hurts my eyes like a bitch after 30 minutes of playing without ENB. Either that, or shut down literally every single thing running in the background to make sure skyrim can use my 4gb of ram + the allocated hard drive space (around 6gb on my third hard drive) without shitting itself every five seconds.

Moonpath was never finished and conflicts with everything, I'd remove it after completing it, honestly.
