Any way of solving the insanely loud sound effects issue in morrowind ? Whenever I enter pretty much anything, some sound effects become instantly louder than the rest of the game. Entering St Olms in Vivec pretty much blew up my headphones with the sounds of a dozen fountains at 500% volume activating all at the same time. Torches are also loud as fuck.
Jumping seems to make everything quieter, at least for the fountains Don't know why it does that :v:
What's the last thing you did to mod Skyrim? Undo that and see if it works. If that doesn't work, repeat the process until you can't remember the modifications you've done to Skyrim If that happens, look at the crash logs in IIRC the Skyrim Folder.
Turns out it was that new hobbit house that was released recently. Thanks.
So I've been playing Morrowind with the overhaul installed and stuff, and I've been having an issue where every once in a while it locks up. Other times it's recovered in ~30 sec but this last time it didn't recover, seems to happen right after I close chatting with someone. Any idea what's causing it and a fix maybe?
This must happen a lot, but does anyone have some good mod recommendations for Morrowind? My knowledge of Morrowind is massively out of date, but I've got it running Morrowind Overhaul, Morrowind Rebirth, Tamriel Rebuilt, and a bunch of other little mods (Vampire Embrace, White Wolf of Lokken, Julan Ashlander Companion..)

Theme'd lists if you are going after a specific character like necromancer or paladin.
Don't you hate losing your stuff because you have to do a clean save to update a mod?
FUCK Skyrim crashed just after I got my enchanting level to 100 and I left my house Please for the love of god please autosave
Don't you hate losing your stuff because you have to do a clean save to update a mod?
If it bothers you that much, there's a command that gives you the item codes for all the shit in your inventory. It's a bit of work, but you could just spawn it all back in if you missed it that much.

All that's left is to figure out how to set Hunterborn's skill level through the console and I'll be set. That shouldn't be hard. *googles* D'oh. Yes, it's very easy. I should have looked this up before I complained!
Oh my goooooooood Vilja is so fucking dull. Fuck it I'm doing her quest and then ditching her. I'll head to Riften for Inigo later.
Ah fuck got a new SSD but my skyrim folder is way too big to fit on it :( Oh well Does skyrim really improve that much from an SSD? Wondering if I'll get a benefit by just having windows 8 (from 7) installed on the SSD alone.

I actually saw the command for it only just today, so I guess you complained just in time.

Wondering if I'll get a benefit by just having windows 8 (from 7) installed on the SSD alone.
the benefit from using an ssd for any one application is incredibly minimal, your ram and cpu are being taxed far more liberally by skyrim, and the difference in reading time from the disk is negligible while playing you'll notice a minor decrease in loading times, but that's about it
FUCK Skyrim crashed just after I got my enchanting level to 100 and I left my house Please for the love of god please autosave
Hell yes it did autosave. Now all I need to do is enchant my new ebony armor set with some fortify destruction and conjuration
Is it just me or does ebony just feel more powerful than daedric, glass and dragon?
Ebony arrows and bows feel more powerful when wielded by draugr bosses.
So after playing the Julan follower mod for Morrowind for a while I'm starting to warm up to the idea of companions in Skyrim. Which should I try first: Vilja, Inigo, or Odvar?
Why does everyone on the nexus love Vilja so much?! The voice acting in that mod is horrid!
Is it just me or does ebony just feel more powerful than daedric, glass and dragon?
It should feel more powerful than glass, but the other two is probably because ebony bow is very thick in comparison.
Why does everyone on the nexus love Vilja so much?! The voice acting in that mod is horrid!
Speaking of which, what are some good companion mods? All the companions in this game are lifeless. Are there any mods out there that add some companions with actual story to them? [editline]2nd January 2014[/editline]
Why does everyone on the nexus love Vilja so much?! The voice acting in that mod is horrid!
All the voice acting in anything is horrible. Why? Because people think all they need to use for voice acting is a usb microphone and some freeware recording software. I've yet to find one good voice acting job in any mod. Audio is such a neglected field in mod work. [editline]2nd January 2014[/editline] That odvar mod's voice seems pretty good though I have to admit.
I've yet to find one good voice acting job in any mod.
If there was good voice acting in a mod it would stand apart from the rest of the game so much it would break immersion. /snark Seriously, the voice acting in Skyrim is so awful. Especially Farengar. That dude has no idea how to use pauses correctly or which syllables to emphasize. And he's nearly monotone. Cannot stand him.
All the voice acting in anything is horrible. Why? Because people think all they need to use for voice acting is a usb microphone and some freeware recording software.
Or because that's all they have. I know I'd have a hard time at best to find someone who has both a capable voice and a mic that doesn't produce a fair bit of static, and I'd be more than tempted to do it myself, not only to save time searching for myself but also in the hopes that the uploaded mod could garner the attention of someone capable and willing to do higher quality voice work for it. [editline]2nd January 2014[/editline] Inigo's pretty well done, though. And rather fleshed out in how and where he says things. [editline]2nd January 2014[/editline] http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40960/ for anyone who didn't catch it last time it was mentioned in the thread
I've yet to find one good voice acting job in any mod. Audio is such a neglected field in mod work.
Audio is neglected because most modders in need of voice actors for their projects are happy to settle with amateurs just to complete their vision. Also there are a number of mods with well-done voice acting in them so you must not be searching hard enough (Pit Fighter, Inigo and Interesting NPCs for instance). Sure they're not common, but they're not nonexistent.
Alright nexus, show me what you got. [t]http://i.imgur.com/DF8bydc.jpg[/t] I regret asking for this.
Ah fuck got a new SSD but my skyrim folder is way too big to fit on it :( Oh well Does skyrim really improve that much from an SSD? If you're running a 10000 or raptor, it won't be that much different.
Alright nexus, show me what you got. [horrible thing] I regret asking for this.
stop
has anyone been able to log in to their nexus account via the mod manager for the past week?
Some of the voice acting in Immersive NPC's or whatever it is, is actually really fucking good Namely the Khajiit monk, someone in the mage college and a few others I can't remember off the top of my head.
It ranges from great to good to cringe worthy. Most of it is above par though. I'd be more than willing to do a bit of voice acting for a companion mod, I just don't know who for though.
I wish you could make Nords darker, I like their bonus power more than Redguards.
I remember playing a white redguard in oblivion.
