Yea they're a dawnguard addition, you fight loads of them during the dawnguard questline.

I installed the guard version. Now all they talk about is Dawnguard stuff. The same 2 or 3 lines. That might actually be more annoying than it was before.

its definitely worth trying if you want to see if you like it
honestly, i think its a pretty fun game all things considered, one of the few mmo's that felt pretty good to handle, though that's just personal opinion and if you have any interest in the game, you should definitely try out the beta because no one's explanation of it is going to replace the actual gameplay experience

Where are you guys finding an installer? I can't find it anywhere, despite the website saying it's in my invitation. I assumed it just wasn't available for download yet but I'd definitely like to pre-download it

You create an account, then input your Beta code. Then it's right there at the top.

though I'm not expecting too much this beta - I mean even if the game was fully released most mmos are pretty shy on content in their release state due to the earth shattering production costs

No, not at all. When I applied my likeliness to get a key was at the highest possible rating, but this is the first beta test of many I've gotten an invite to. None of my friends have gotten any yet either although it seems quite a few on facepunch have
