lol this mod looks hilarious on male characters
http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/43695/?
I'm keeping it anyways because anything is better than the default animations
Oh, so MMORPGs aren't supposed to be fun for the first 10 levels.
Got it.
the devs make the assumption that the player has never played an RPG or MMO before which leads to very boring gameplay if you have

I had that for a while but it makes everyone look straight at the ground instead of at you and it's awkward.

Which is really, really dumb considering much of this game's target audience has done both of those things, and I'm pretty sure a whole 90%+ have done the former if they're getting an Elder Scrolls game.
Why don't they make two somewhat seperate intros, a speedy, straight, to-the point intro and a I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT I'M DOING HOW DID I GET HERE boring intro for beginners and let you choose before you start them game?
Ah damnit, Skyrim is crashing as soon as I enter Severin Manor. The only thing I can think of that would cause it to crash is Severin Manor Improvements, but I was already in Severin Manor and there was no crashing.
[editline]11th January 2014[/editline]
Bah, it wasn't Severin Manor Improvements. I think its just one of those cases where entering an area causes it to crash, but if you wait it'll fix it's self.
I think that's called a corrupted cell?
Pretty sure you can use the racemenu to save the current face as a preset and reload it after changing the race.
Yes, i saved the preset then loaded it on an imperial. It looked ugly as fuck
Also when I was fighting the Morag Tong as part of Served Cold they were invisible and made Ash Hopper noises
They still dropped their armor though
my biggest gripe with ESO is being stuck on the damn island and being forced to do quests to leave

I did it you guys. I re-created the oblivion character generator in skyrim.
Or maybe something worse.
I only played ESO's beta to see what the summerset isles are like since there's barely any info on that place, but wow is the game bad. I got too fed up with the game I didn't even get past the first place you go to in Tamriel.

Is that the wolf head from Home Alone on the wall there?
Ironically ESO might be *decent* if it weren't an MMO. If it were like a 20-30 dollar game and the MMO aspect were literally stripped out, it would be worthwile playing just for exploration/shallow rp elements. All the worst and unfitting elements of it are all of the core MMO elements.
The most detracting gameplay aspects are the fact that you have these seemingly singleplayer style missions, but it's so obvious that you're literally just in a single file quest lineup. "Please take a number and await your turn to talk to the Prisoner you have to free". If there were just no other people running around, and enemies didn't respawn literally every 5 seconds, then it would be an ok game. The MMO elements are like bad game features they purposely introduced expressly to make the game bad.
They could literally strip the entirety of the online feature, call it "Elder Scrolls Adventures: Tamriel" and I'd probably play it if it weren't too expensive :v:
Its combat is Skyrim combat without shouting and that situational attack that never works.
No, it's definitely worse than skyrim by several thousands of degrees, but it's pretty damn good for MMO combat.
I certainly couldn't find it. I was glad when I got kicked last beta because I got tired of killing mudcrabs and finding barrels of nothing everywhere.
I've completed over 70 quests so far and I'm not even close to done them all on one of the four classes, in one of the 3 alliances. You're full of shit.
Planetside 2
I wouldn't call that anywhere near singleplayer mechanics quality but it's pretty good.
[editline]oh wow[/editline]
would just like to share a quote from an NPC in ESO, a woman nicely dressed wandering around outside the forge
It might be unseemly for a woman of noble birth to be drawn to the forge, but I can't help myself.
I find all the muscles and sweating to be... so interesting.
My friend's been having some issues where, when he takes damage, his screen goes white when he looks in that direction. Any idea what could be causing that?
I DID IT

It might not be the best but god damn it I gave it a shot
and hey
and hey
they told me OCO would make my characters handsome
I'm starting to feel bad for liking ESO from all the negativity its getting :v:
I'm starting to feel bad for liking ESO from all the negativity its getting :v:
Don't mind it. TES has always been a singleplayer series so it's natural that a lot of people are going to be pretty hostile to ESO. When you judge it by the standards of other MMOs it's actually pretty good for the stage of development it's in right now. You really just have to decide if the multiplayer focus makes up for the weaker mechanics due to it being an mmo for you
Yea I'd imagine it'll be fun to run around Tamriel (too bad I've never been anywhere but the fucking islands) but not $15/mo fun.
The monthly fee makes it really weak by all standards. Well, my standards.
It's literally the only thing I don't like about it, but it's such a massive thing it ruins the whole game.
Cost does not affect quality although it should definitely affect your choice to play it. The surveys you do as part of the beta asks how much you'd be willing to pay so if enough people say below $15 it might be lower, who knows. Anyway the game will just go f2p if not enough people are willing and if they are then that'll be that I suppose.
I don't know if I'd be willing to pay $15/mo to play ESO, it depends on how much I see it improve in the time before release

The islands are fine, they have some neat quests. Majority of the time I've spent so far has been in high rock (got off the islands pretty fast even though I did all the quests) but I have alts that are in vvardenfell and the summerset isles which is neat. The kha'jit who meets you in the summerset isles has a great line when you meet him too :v:
I've found a new hobby in the form of playing around with slider scales.

should I change the scale to 50 or so and just make something absolutely hideous?
What 'extension' do you have for racemenu that allows you to edit more variables of a character's appearence?
I believe it might be this one: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29624/?
??
Going to install and try it out now.

I have that one, but it links the extension down below. Thanks mang!
I just started playing ESO and can't get past the very first part... how do you open the prison door to leave the cell?
I noticed a lot of people here using alternative start mod. Is it that good?
Oh yes it is, I started my campaign near Markarth.. did some local quests to get some good starter items.
Basically started out as a common sell sword roaming the hills and plains instead of becoming the Jarls little puppet over in Whiterun.
If you're into roleplay go for it!
I noticed a lot of people here using alternative start mod. Is it that good?
I like it. Haven't been using it much, but it was refreshing to start somewhere other than the tutorial dungeon. Skyrim Unbound is another alternative start mod that's worth looking into.
Word of warning: if you do the shipwreck start, don't let Frostfall (or any other hypothermia mods) start until you reach shore. Maybe even until you reach a town. It would suck to start your character and be doomed 60 seconds in.
One thing that bugs me about ESO is all the NPC's voiced by Stephen Hawking.

Placeholder obviously.
[editline]12th January 2014[/editline]
Oh one thing has improved since the last Beta. Everyone can loot chests! Last beta if someone looted it before you, too bad, you either had to move on or wait for it to respawn.
[editline]12th January 2014[/editline]
ok I might be wrong about that, maybe they have a faster respawn time, or some chests are multi-loot, because I'm finding empty ones next to full ones.

Thank you, wrote this bitch down for my "to install" mod list, will look into Unbound as well.
Although what about the main quest progression? Now that you won't need to go to Whiterun, how all quests related to Balgruuf and discovering that you're Dragonborn will work?
