Thank you, wrote this bitch down for my "to install" mod list, will look into Unbound as well.
Although what about the main quest progression? Now that you won't need to go to Whiterun, how all quests related to Balgruuf and discovering that you're Dragonborn will work?
Well I basically started playing and when I was ready to start travelling from my starting province I eventually just ran into these quests and decided to pick em up.
That's it really :) I like it because it allows for more character development instead of jumping into one of the main quests as a goatskin wearing drifter.
Ok so I finished nights of the nine the other day. I understood every puzzle except that faith one, until it mentioned that one big hint. I feel like an idiot for not understanding it.
If anyone playing ESO makes it to Windhelm, take pictures, I want to see how it compares. I seen a top down map, it seems to be pretty much the same layout.
that's the one thing i'm interested in, how the landmass compares to the Tamriel we know from the core games
is the scale 1:1? are the cities the same? how much does the map line up?
You probably uninstalled a mod that somehow fucked it up.
My advice would be to record all the mods you have, then reinstall Skyrim.
Ah well. I could just start a new character. I finished the dawnguard questline with my char, would have been nice to actually use auriels bow since I was playing an archer but I guess thats as decent as any point to stop playing. Was just planning on going through the dragonborn questline with him...
I'll look into that. Glad wyre bash has the ability to record mods you've played.
I think the problem is I upgraded my Kurtee's eat and sleep mod to the latest version along with the battle injuries and that probably fucked things up. I also tried to uninstall the dynamic inuries mod that requires you to do stitches and stuff because it had a setting where NPCs/followers would get injuried and that was causing too much strain.
Just odd because I stopped using those mods like two hours before my "clean" save (aka the first save game that lets me save) and didn't have any real issues.
I finally tried my hand at making my own mod. I made my old character into a follower. Using the CK must be what going insane feels like, especially because at one point I had her in-game but all she did was go berserk and punch the shit out of everything when I tried talking to her.
Now I've got her working and it's kinda surreal seeing my own character walking around and doing things without me. That probably sounds really weird.

Now I want a program that takes a save, and makes the character from that save be a follower.

There is one though? Someone posted a mod that could do that a few pages back.
I'm really hoping we get to see some Black Marsh in ESO. All that Hist must make for interesting creatures and locations.
Placeholder obviously.

Oh one thing has improved since the last Beta. Everyone can loot chests! Last beta if someone looted it before you, too bad, you either had to move on or wait for it to respawn.
[editline]12th January 2014[/editline]
ok I might be wrong about that, maybe they have a faster respawn time, or some chests are multi-loot, because I'm finding empty ones next to full ones.
If I can finally loot stuff now, I guess I'll try it out again

All I've seen so far is an electric crocodile from one of the trailers.
electric crocodile
This itself gathers my interest.

It literally just looks like a large lizard with some particle effects strapped on it.
So.. just a question to you guys in general.
You collect a fuckton of books through journeys/exploration and quests.. does anyone actually read em?
I got a chest full of em, should I take my time and actually read some of em?

Not all of them, though I wish I could say that I did.
I have been known to read tomes in a grandiose voice over skype, though.

why else would they be there?
Ok well not ABCs for barbarians and Troll Slaying and that garbage
Clutter items and skill levels.
Then why would they contain written language
I usually sit down with a book when I have the time, but there is always time for adventure!

Is that what those scribbles are? I'm sorry, my true nord character can't understand those.

There's only 3 books I've read in the game.

Seen that one coming.. so have I so far.
Naw but I still have a lot of wicked stuff from the Dragonborn quests like Ghosts in the Storm, Lycanthropic legends of Skyrim and N'Gasta! Kvata! Kvakis!
I just prefer to bash skulls in with my mighty zwei-hander.
Figured out how to "solve" my issue where I crash everytime I save, for anyone who also runs into this:
It seems like its caused with a bug that has to do simply with a load of mods/data causing an inherent bug in the vanilla skyrim saving system to crop up, upon saving a game. Its an issue that can't really be fixed by uninstalling mods or removing save bloat, since its a standard skyrim script that gets screwed up (for reference, apparently the vanilla skyrim quest with Dawnstar's nightmares can cause this bug to happen too). Even after loading previous saves from far back with the specific mod config I had on those saves, I'd eventually get the same issue after a while.
The solution is that if you type in player.kill in the console immediately after loading a game and let the game re-load your latest save automatically, that fixes saving for that session and I can save like normal.
Something involved with loading the game straight from the main menu or from the load game list just totally breaks saving for me now, to where if I want to have save functionality back without crashing I need to load games via suicide to have the rest of that play session work with saving.
Bethesda you are one cruel mistress.
Speaking of ESO, I think they really missed the boat on $15/mo MMOs. A few years ago, that could have flown no problem. With free-to-play microtransactional models today being the norm, though, a $15/mo MMO seems expensive when you're paying $60 for the base game.
If they want to make it viable over the long-term, they're going to have to introduce either some form of free-to-play system, or a microtransactional model in the future. I could see a potential price drop, if they insist on keeping the $60 entry fee, to $5-10/mo. That would be far more reasonable, considering.
Alternately, they could sell hats. That works pretty well, apparently.
Any particular reason my perks are no longer functioning properly post-werewolf? Like I'll eat an ingredient, and despite the Shows Three Effects perk remaining unlocked and activated in my perks screen, I only get one effect shown to me when I eat it anyway. If it matters, I'm using the exploit that allows you to be both werewolf and vampire lord-enabled at the same time, but they only overwrite each other, not the base effects as far as I can tell. I also can't tell exactly what is and is not overwritten yet - I can still forge higher tier items from the smithing tree.
Now I want a program that takes a save, and makes the character from that save be a follower.
If you want to try it, here's the guide I used. I also use that mod that adds more follower voices like female argonians (because my new follower is a female argonian). Don't forget, when you're done and have saved it to an esp, click on your follower's name in the list (filter it by their name so they're the only one to show up) and hit CTRL + F4. That'll get rid of the greyface bug.
[editline]12th January 2014[/editline]
It might be worth mentioning that is literally all I did, I didn't place her in the world anywhere so I had to use console commands. If you know more about the CK than I do, which is easy, you might be able to make a more extensive follower than me.
I am very surprised anyone actually likes this game. I wouldn't play it if it was free.
I wouldn't play it for a fee, I would maybe play it if it was free.
I am very surprised anyone actually likes this game. I wouldn't play it if it was free.
If it was free I'd come back to it every now and then.
Just not nearly as much as I do with Skybliviwinggerfarena.
Never played the spinoffs.

I read the books in morrowind when I try and make my way through it, they're generally well written and sitting down to read a book fits with the pace of the game. In skyrim it rarely happens, if nothing else the overlong page turning animations get annoying after a while, even if most 'books' are just a few pages anyway.
